I got dressed while my master chose to get the bedsheet changed by himself even at my protest, I felt a bit ridiculous letting him do it but he already made it clear my protest was irrelevant.
After making sure I was sorted, I gave my master one last kiss before I finally stepped out of the hall to go see Baozhi's disciple, I still remembered the route to his hall and unlike my masters hall which was at the peak of Mount Xuandu, Baozhi's hall was located at the valley and thankfully, it wasn't a stressful walk for me cause I had my mind distracted the whole time, daydreaming of my master to the point I didn't even realize the immortal's of Mount Xuandu who strode down the path where gazing at me.
I cleared my throat embarrassedly after realizing, 'Get yourself together Shanxia.' I bowed politely at them as I walked by but they still had that odd look on their faces while responding to my greetings.
At least now I understood their reasons for gazing at me with such expression.
I got to Baozhi's hall alot quicker than I'd expected and stepped in, Youlan stood at the threshold and she beamed at the sight of me, seems like she was waiting for my arrival.
"You came, I thought master Qui Shan would forget to tell you." she said and I smiled at her shaking my head in reply as well.
"He didn't forget."
"Come on."
She ran off before I could say anything else, was being so hyper also part of her ability? I sighed and went after her.
I was taken to the courtyard making me come to a stop, Youlan waved at me and left me standing in the courtyard alone.
Senior Yang Fe sat comfortably at the teatable going through a book, same with Zhangjie while Bai QingQing was more focused on going through her powers, there was this change of aura but in a positive way. As always Zhangjie was the first to notice my prescence and I had to smile to ease off the ackward moment.
"You're here." he smiled back while I nodded in response to his words.
Yang Fe also lifted his gaze from the book to stare at me and I bowed politely at him since he was my senior.
"Greetings." I said and he closed the book but unlike last time, his gaze was warm and friendly.
"Good to see you again Shanxia."
The change of mood really comforted me and I bowed once more.
"We called you over to know if you'd like to join our team." Bai QingQing was the first to speak and I turned my attention towards her direction, she was walking up to me as the petals around her died away.
"Team of what?" I inquisitively asked.
"The hunting games." Zhangjie said almost too excitedly but I still didn't get it and remained clueless.
"What hunting games?"
"It's a tournament held every four years where different sects come together to find a specific artifact." Yang Fe explained while Bai QingQing nodded in agreement to his words.
"This time, we're going to be in search of the Zhanxian Feidao, the immortal slaying flying dagger which will be very beneficial to Mount Xuandu since we deal mostly on blades."
Zhangjie smacked his book on the table. "We're going to get that dagger for sure this time around."
"What is the flying dagger?" I inquired politely,
Zhangjie opened up his book and showed me the picture of the slaying flying dagger while I observed it for a while. "This dagger is one of the most fearsome artifact ever known and it's surprisingly the first time they've put an artifact that actually made sense since the whole years of being part of the tournament.
Yang Fe sighed inwardly. "To put up an artifact this big as a prize only means we have more challenges rolling up our sleeves and I know without doubt that this years hunting tournament won't be easy."
Zhangjie looked even more excited to hear that and had a slightly avengeful gaze "Great cause I'm hoping to deal with those Mount Fuan disciples on that day."
I remained quiet, a bit confused by the conversation going on.
"Mount Fuan?"
Bai QingQing nodded with a hint of dismay. "The meanest sect and the strongest as well."
Yang Fe got to his feet. "They've literally won most of the artifacts and are top on the list before our sect."
Zhangjie scoffed at his words. "I'm tired of how those sects act like they know everything and are better than everyone."
"Which is why we need to team up, so we can work together and get that dagger." Bai QingQing raised out and a smile formed on Zhangjie's lips.
"We'll be remembered for years if Mount Xuandu could hold such powerful artifacts." he was already reminiscing on the win while I kept my gaze on the picture shown to me, just like how that stone had it's calling to me, I could feel same vibes coming from the daggers picture and I felt a strange impulse to read on it.
"So are you in?" Bai QingQing's word brought me back and I met her gaze reminding me of our discussion, the offer would of course be of great benefit to me since they are more experienced and skilled than I am but why would they think of partnering with a weak disciple like me?
"I'm sure there are other tough disciples in Mount Xuandu, why choose me to team up with?"
Zhangjie walked up to me, unsatisfied with my words. "Why shouldn't we? no one is ever weak plus we need someone we can trust on the team."
"Besides you've just got here and we're the only one's you've interacted with so far." Bai QingQing added and her words made point, also with the fact I'm being punished I bet no one would want to have me in their teams.
"Okay then, I'm in."
A half smile crossed Yang Fe's lips at my response while Zhangjie placed an arm around my shoulder, I had to admit he did make me feel less nervous, like I belonged here and I could tell we'll be good friends.
"You'll see, it'll be fun." he winked and I chuckled lightly.
"But what's the hunting tournament mostly about?"
"We get transversed somewhere and the hunting of the blades begin, apart from the flying dagger, there's more hidden artifacts but with less powers we can pick up on the way."
"They are needed for upgrading, to enhance our spiritual flow and give us bonus strength to face whatever's ahead."
I listened to their words but could hardly grab everything, it doesn't seem to be that hard of a tournament, could it?
"We just need to be aware of Mount Fuan's disciples." Zhangjie added making Yang Fe roll his eyes at him.
"You don't have to pry on them, we avoid them, they avoid us."
"When is the tournament?"
"A week from now." Yang Fe apparently said to me and drew out his blade, I met his gaze but it wasn't threatening at all.
"Your weapon is clearly different from Mount Xuandu style since we're mostly based on blades and formation of petals. I hope you don't mind, I just want to see how good you are."
I smiled and drew out my golden whip, it indeed wasn't of Mount Xuandu style and I wondered why my master let me take them but either ways, I was starting to get used to it and I really wouldn't mind a friendly combat, I've been looking for one infact.
"Sure."
