Lizards

The plane covered itself with a thin purple light and passed through the barrier like it didn't exist before landing on the pad on the roof.

"Big brother, what should I do?"

Nodus replied only after he sent in the order to assemble the squads.

"Don't worry, come here, I will show you how to use the tablet."

Nodus waved at her and scanned the tablet with his wristwatch before turning it on.

"You see this green dot?"

The screen displayed a green dot that was radiating a pulse of light once every 5 seconds.

"That is your father, and he is in the forest south of the city."

Lulu couldn't measure the distance, unlike Nodus who knew perfectly the screen since he was the one who personally made it.

"Follow me."

The young girl did not ask any question and stared at the black screen with a smile plastered on her face as she followed the young man down to the laboratory.

On his way there, Nodus didn't see Helena who was supposedly on the first floor and was told by C1 that she went to get something from her house.

After Nodus took a step into the laboratory, the light lit up, and a dozen hologram boxes appeared all around the place.

Most of them were filled with the fortress that he had chosen during the ride home and were the ones that costed fewer materials to make.

"Narrow it to the most optimal one."

The 12 huge holograms displayed went down to 2, and with a quick glance, Nodus nodded and slid the box away before summoning the tool table that he used to customize the drone.

The little bird appeared out of nowhere with a flash of light before laying down on the table.

As he was busy doing some change in the bird, Lulu snuck a glance over his shoulder and saw many tiny rotating disks within the little drone.

Nodus moved two needles around, and after a few sparks, he embeds a minuscule computer chip onto the drone's stomach before closing the feathery lid.

"Here, it will help you find your father."

The bird stood up and flew onto the young girl's shoulder before waving its long wings.

"Really?... What is it called?"

Nodus lifted his shoulders and told her that she could call it whatever she wants.

"Bu One will be here soon with some mounts, and you can choose any carriage you want."

Lulu nodded and left the busy young man alone.

All of the carriages looked the same so she just picked the one that was closest to the gate and before she could slide open the door, Bu One and a group of people arrived at the mansion.

When Lulu saw what kind of mount they brought, she almost felt onto the ground.

"Komono Lizards...?"

"Is it not to your liking miss?"

Bu One waved the squads to go into the house while he stood in front of the young girl with 4 lizards leashed to his hand.

"No, but... I never heard them being able to pull the carriage because of their skins."

The Komono Lizards were known for their quick tongue attacks and their burst of speed, most importantly also known for their ability to escape by transforming into a ball.

The lizard would put their tails above their head and along their spine before quickly rolling away like a wheel while leaving behind an oily substance that would cause anyone that walks on it to attack the ground with their face.

"Precisely, it's because they can roll for so long that we came up with the idea to install these special leashes."

Bu One placed the big lizard in front of the first carriage and hooked the metal leash to a round metal pin that was on the side of their stomach.

The leather belt that went around their stomach had two of those round pin, and after hooking it up on both side, Bu One explained to the young girl that they could pull the carriage while rolling without causing any discomfort bumps along the way.

"Wow, that's amazing... They roll really fast too and how do I change direction?"

The android brought the young girl to the front seat and replaced the steering wheel with a long lever that could go side to side.

"So I just have to drag it to change direction and hold this button to make them move forward?"

"Yes miss, would you like to give it a try?"

Lulu nodded and gently pressed on the button while Bu One sat beside her.

She tilted the lever sideways and made the lizard walk around in a circle, the more she pressed down on the button, the faster they paced.

After a quick tip, Lulu found out that if she entirely forced the button down, it would make the lizard roll and the button would be locked down until she pressed on it again.
