Disowned

"Let's go father wants us in the throne room. He's ready to talk."

I looked up and just for a second I thought Jameson and Andrew shared a worried exchange. But before I could say anything it was gone. And we were walking back down to the throne room. And what happened next would change everything.

Just before we made it to the doors. Andrew and James stopped me.

"We need to tell you something, Cata. It's from all of us" said James.

"We need you to hear it, and well father wouldn't let the others come get you. Just us" said Andrew.

"What is it?" Now suddenly really worried what father was about to tell me.

They both looked at each other and nodded. James was the one to speak. "Well, as the Crown Prince.."

"James...."

"Fine, Andy, as the oldest in the family. And your favorite brother." Stopping and staring at Andrew. "We want you to know, we love you, and we always will"

"And always watch your back, but know we also always have it, even when it doesn't look like it" said Andrew.

"James, Andy... what's going on, what do you know?"

"Nothing, you aren't about to find out" James said.

And with that they turn toward the throne room and disappeared into the room. Leaving me, feeling like the worst was yet to come.

Chin up. Walk with pride.

I turned. And nodded at the guards. They opened the doors and I walked in.

There in the throne room was my father. To his right were James, Andy, and Rem. To his left were my other brothers Benjamin, Caleb, and my sister Scarlett. I tried reading my siblings faces, but I could not. Next to my father was Atlas, the future king of Nighten and his mother Queen Anita of Nighten.

"Child...Catarina come forward" my father said. There was something in his eyes, something I didn't like. But he was hiding it from me. But I could still tell their was something.

I walked forward, every step filled with pride, every step filled with confidence.

"I don't care about the reasons that you disobeyed me. But I can not allow this to continue."

I wanted to get on my knees right then and there, I wanted to tell him I was sorry, that this would never happen again. But I was a Princess, and Princesses don't beg.

"As a future queen, I can not let this continue." He went on. "I am doing this for you. I am doing this for Nighten" he loooked to the Queen and she held her head up. "And I am doing this for Sunden. You have left me with no choice. When you choose to disobey me in front of our people and Nighten you signed your fate."

Now my heart was pounding. I was looking at my siblings, but they refused to make eye contact, I could feel they had shut me out of the sibling bond. The Queen was looking at my father but for a split second she looked at me, and all I saw was sadness in her eyes, but only for a moment. Now my heart was racing. No one would make eye contact, no one would look at me. That is except for my father and Atlas. Atlas, was staring right at me, he was so calm, and when we made eye contact, a rush of calmness swept over me. I heard him in my head and he said:

-It will all be ok, Cata, you must believe that-

And with that he shut me out. And I had a feeling it was not because, he wanted to.

"Perhaps one day, things will be different, my daughter, my child, my light" my father said as he walked towards me. "But until then. Let it be known. That I High King Charleston Altza de Ronza of Suden"

"And I High Queen Anita Alzma de Niven of Nighten" as Atlas's mother came forward.

And together in unison they said "strip you High Princess Catarina Altza de Ronza, of your name, your place, and your title."

My father then spoke " From this day forward you will no longer be known as High Princess Catarina Altza de Ronza daughter of Suden. You will no longer be bred to Sunden and Nighten. Born to Sunden and made for Nighten. You will no longer be known as my daughter. You will no longer be my subject, and I will no longer be your King. You will be no one."

And with that the High Queen of Nighten and the High King of Suden, slammed their staffs to the ground. A gush of wind filled with golden and black streaks, exploded across the kingdom. My royal clothes became, worn down grey clothes, with no sigma, no place, no king. I felt my Azurain tattoos disappear from my body. For when an Azurain is denied by their King, they are denied by all the Kings and Queens of Azuria. It is safer for an Azurain who was denied to never be recognized as one of their own. I looked down at my wrist, and the royal sigma was barely visible.

It took everything I had to not break down in tears. All I did was hold my own, I kept my head down and my eyes staring down at the floor.

"You are free to go." The King of Suden said.

I bowed, for the first time in my whole life, not with my head, but with my whole body. Without a word, I turned, and I headed towards the door. The guards opened it. I walked out down the stairs to the main part of the castle. I walked down the grand staircase to the main entrance of the castle. The guards opened the palace gates. I walked out, I walked through the markets, down towards the walls, where I walked through the entrance of the city walls.

Then I heard a loud roar and a screech. I turned, there was a lioness and a phoenix flying over the lioness. And I knew it was Sunset and Firewing. Above them on top of the entrance read: "Light will always guard the way"

My name is Alza of Flintwood, and I am no one.
