Epilogue

I'm running as fast as I can. My heart is beating like crazy.

/"Nate, slow down./" My best friend Marcus calls out. He's trying to keep up with me but he can't

My lungs are screaming for air but I don't care.

I don't care about anything right now,

Except Verena.

I rush through the hospital doors and run over to where I see Aiden and Skylar standing.

/"How is she?/" I demand. My voice is choked my whole body is heaving.

/"I don't know Nate. We called you as soon as we heard./" Skylar whispers.

I can't think.

I can't breathe.

I need to see her.

A doctor is walking towards us. I nearly attack him.

/"How is she? How is my wife?/" I hiss.

The doctor doesn't seem fazed by my hysteric state.

/"Are you Mr. Cohen?/" He asks.

I simply nod.

I haven't experienced fear like this before.

/"Your wife is stable. You can go see her./" He smiles.
