Nutjob

"CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK!"

In a tiny dimly lit room, there was a figure staring intensely into a bright monitor. His fingers gracefully dancing from one key to another. A man true to his passion. His astonishing performance reverberated deep into the night.

The person stretched his arms and yawned, tired from the relentless typing, "Seems like I will be able to somehow release it on time." he said while rubbing his eyes.

On the monitor, a text editor was open with what looks like a bunch of nonsense accompanied with the occasional line of comprehensible text. In fact, this was not nonsense, but rather it was code. The person was in fact writing software. He navigated to the browser and held his pointer above a green button with the word "deploy" written in white.

"I, Jake Johnson shall rule the world!" said Jake as he clicked his mouse.

"Finally some well-deserved sleep," said Jake while leaning back against his chair with closed eyes. The dim room suddenly shone brightly. The surroundings started to violently shake, "EARTHQUAKE!!!" screamed Jake while quickly trying to take cover under his table, but it was too late. The shine became even brighter to only disappear the next moment, taking Jake with it.

In a dark cave sparsely lit there is a glowing circle tens of meters in width. To the side, there is a group of old men in cloaks chanting nonstop while a soft blue light seeps from them into the glowing circle.

"ROTATION!" shouted a guard. His voice resounded in the cave alerting the men in cloaks. Another similar group of old men swiftly moved towards the group near the glowing circle. As they came closer they started chanting while the other group left.

Standing beside the guard was a man clad in golden armor full of shiny ornaments, and a decorated sword on his hip, "It should be about time for the last one." said the man while looking at his golden pocket watch.

The cloaked men started chanting more violently, "Come! It's happening!" shouted the man covered in gold armor while waving at six other people sitting at a bench close by.

The cave started shaking as the circle shone up the whole cave with its bright light. As the dust cleared a person had appeared in the middle of the circle. The golden clad man along with the other six people walked slowly towards the person.

Jake opened his eyes and before him was a completely different scenery. He was no longer in his room, but sitting down on the floor of a cave. Stonecold to its touch. Somehow he had gotten transported from his room into this mysterious cave during the earthquake. He looked around inspecting his surroundings trying to gather a better understanding of the situation.

There was a group of people just a few meters away walking towards him all clad in medieval armor. "Odd, why do they have armor?" thought Jake to himself.

While trying to analyze the people something weird popped up in his peripheral vision. Seven windows, each with information about the respective individuals closing up to Jake.

The window close to the man clad in golden armor said: This person seems to be clad in very expensive, yet functional armor. Might be a person of great stature.

"What the hell is this?" Jake thought to himself.

The group had arrived in the middle of the circle where Jake was sitting down. A blonde-haired guy clad in robust armor extended his arm, "David, a hero like yourself." said the young man with a great smile.

"Wait what? What do you mean hero? Is this a joke?" asked Jake in confusion while standing up, yet still accepting David's gesture.

"Tsk, it's always like this" commented the golden clad man with a sneer.

David smiled in response and said to Jake "Don't mind Henry, he's been waiting for more than 18 hours for your summon, so he's a bit tired. Let me explain to you a bit about the situation."

"This is another world that you have been summoned to. You have been chosen as a hero that will save this world from evil. We are seven heroes in total, we other heroes were summoned during the previous days."

"Our mission is to help The Restryja Empire defeat the evil demon lord and thus bring peace to this continent. Through this summoning ritual, we are all given these robust bodies with special skills that will aid us in our mission," said David while clenching his fist and looking up into the ceiling with a bright smile on his face.

"Is this guy a nut job," Jake thought to himself.

"I understand, I understand, let me show you this and you might believe," said David while drawing his sword from his hip. David moved a few steps away and with his free hand, he waved it over his sword and chanted unintelligible words. And his sword was set on fire.

Jake was not impressed by this, sure it was convincing for what it was, but not a completely unreasonable feat.

"Of course this wouldn't be enough. Henry and Nora, we'll do that thing," said David.

Henry immediately slashed David's left arm and severed it nicely. Thunk, the arm hit the ground loudly, and blood splattered everywhere. In the next moment, a girl in the group moved forward and extended her arms towards David. Green light enveloped the stub left by Henry and immediately regenerated the arm.

Jake was shaking, he squeezed his arm trying to make it stop. He had just witnessed someone cutting off an arm and regenerate it like it was nothing, "He's definitely a nut job" Jake thought to himself still frightened from the experience.
