Chapter 13 Crimson Cross

As Adrosiean and the cult members entered the invisible barrier, a person who seemed to be the guard came up to them and stopped them. Rexhell stepped forward and spoke with the guard.

Their conversation was quite laxed since this was just for clarification. After all, only demonic cultists who know the password and have the demonic energy could open the barrier.

As the two chat, Adrosiean could see the guard's eyes went on disbelief and fanatical excitement while glancing at Adrosiean. The guard hurriedly let them passed while bowing towards Adrosiean respectfully.

If seemed that Rexhell had told him about Adrosian being a demon lord. The guard was extremely enthusiastic that even Adrosiean felt somewhat uneasy.

However, the guard restrained himself and did not take too much time. He did not want to delay the demon lord just because of him.

Adrosiean and the group passed the guard and reached the prosperous looking town like demonic hideout. It was almost unbelievable. No one would believe this if they do not see it personally.

Adrosiean could not helped but activated his detection skill.

"Scout Detection."

This was the same skill that Adrosiean used in border town's cemetery to estimate the number of corpses. Now Adrosiean was doing the same.

An invisible wave came out of his body and spread out, scanning the whole Crimson Cross hideout. As the information flooded into Adrosiean's mind, his pupils shrank and laughed dryly.

The number of the population of demon worshippers here was more than three thousands. All of them possessed more or less demonic energy in their bodies.

This number of demon worshippers was not the reason for Adrosiean's shock. Adrosiean had seen many large demonic cults that contained more members than Crimson Cross in the game.

The thing that made Adrosiean puzzled was how did this many demon worshippers living this near the capital city of Crenoth kingdom this peacefully and undisturbed. This was literally a huge disrespect to the kingdom itself.

As they walked to the headquarters of Crimson Cross along the crude road, Adrosiean noticed that several demon worshippers were looking at their group with strange curious gazes.

Adrosiean was confused. Did they see through his disguise? Adrosiean was currently in the human form and concealing his demon lord aura using the mask of deception. He was not revealing any aura or demonic features.

Adrosiean even had an invisible veil of darkness activated from the gem of eternal darkness as an assurance. There was no way these low level demon worshippers could see through his disguise.

"Or maybe it is because of Rexhell and his members?"

Adrosiean guessed. Since Rexhell and his demonic cult members had been transformed by Adrosiean into demonic humans, they looked different compared to normal humans.

Furthermore, they did not even hiding their appearances at all. Ever since they had entered the hideout, the demonic cult members including Rexhell took off their hoods and walking freely.

Their devilish appearances were certainly eye catching. Moreover, they were not good at concealing their new powers yet and their demonic energy was leaking.

Of cause, it was not a problem for them since they were inside their own base. Nobody would come to attack them sensing their demonic energy.

In here, demonic energy was considered holy to the demon worshippers. The more demonic energy they possess, the higher their rank.

Adrosiean thought this makes sense. As they continued to go inside deeper, some cult members recognized Rexhell and greeted him. Rexhell however did not stop to chat and went straight to the Crimson Cross's main hall where the highest leader is.

Rexhell proudly stride into the main hall while Adrosiean waited outside and looked arounf the base. In there, the Crimson Cross's highest leader and some high ranking cult members were having an intense meeting.

"Rexhell? What are you doing here? I thought you were at the border. And you look... different?"

Seeing Rexhell's new devilish features coupled with his sudden appearance, the Crimson Cross's leader was asked in surprise.

He is Derroth, a tall middle aged man with a scarred face. He was currently the highest leader of Crimson Cross demonic cult.

"I have come back to deliver great news, leader. We..."

Rexhell's tone was filled with thrill. However before he could finish his sentence, another person suddenly interrupted him and cut off his words.

"How insolent of you Rexhell. Don't you see we are in an important meeting right now? How dare you barge in like this? Where are your manners? Are you disrespecting the leader and us?"

The person said with a mocking tone. Rexhell glanced at the person who interrupted him. He knew this person very well. To the point that he did not even want to see this man at all.

He is Halivan, another high ranking member of Crimson Cross. He had been Rexhell's rival and enemy for a long time.

Although they were in the same cult, competitions between members were common. As an organization, there will always be disagreements.

Rexhell especially did not get along well with Halivan. They had been in arguments and fights whenever they see each other.

Halivan was one of the main reasons that Rexhell had decided to leave the Crimson Cross's main base and established his branch outside of the Crenoth kingdom.

Rexhell did not want to see Halivan's face even for a second if possible. Rexhell took a deep breath and calmed himself. He had no time to argue with Halivan right now.

"That's right. You can report that later. We are in a very important meeting right now. Since you are here, join the meeting with us. You have the qualifications."

Derroth nodded and said. Rexhell was once a high ranking member of Crimson Cross before departing to the border with his followers.

"May I know what is this meeting is about?"

Rexhell asked. He did not continue as he knew he woulf be interrupted by Halivan again.

"Haven't you heard of the recent prophecy? It is about the appearance of a powerful demon lord in this world. This is the moment we are waiting for many years!"

Derroth said with fanaticism. Rexhell's eyes widen in shick. His eyes were glimmering with pride.

"So there was even a prophecy."

Rexhell said with exhilaration. He had been doing his best to accompany Adrosiean and did not have time to care about other things.

They had been traveling to Crimson Cross for days without resting. Thus, Rexhell was unaware of the prophecy.

"Regarding of this prophecy, I have something important to announce to all."

Rexhell said. He could not contain his excitement and pride when speaking. The others looked at him.

"What again? Do you want to waste more of our precious time?"

Halivan scoffed sarcastically. Rexhell closed his eyes for a moment and chose to ignore Halivan. He continued.

"About a week ago, I and the rest of my branch members had succeeded in summoning a demon lord to this world!"

Rexhell said loudly with pride. His voice echo through the hall.

Silent...

All the cult members in the hall went silent at Rexhell's words, unable to speak. Their eyes dazed in shock and disbelief. Their mouths opened several times but no words came out.

"You... you... you successfully summoned a demon lord? This is not a joke right?"

One of the cult members finally asked with a trembling voice. Everyone's shocked gazes were fixed on Rexhell.

Summoning a demon lord to this world was Crimson Cross's greatest wish. However it was too hard to call a powerful being like a demon lord to this world.

It was an almost impossible mission for cultists like them. Even the strongest in the Crimson Cross, Derroth was no exception.

However now, this impossible task was fulfilled by a branch leader who was not even in the main base.

"How dare I lie about a demon lord. This is the truth. We were the ones who summoned a demon lord to this world."

Rexhell said with a proud smile on his face. As someone who had accomplished such an impossible feat, Rexhell's merits even exceed the highest leader himself.

"Then where... where is the great demon lord right now?"

Derroth asked. He was trembling with excitement.

"The lord is here with me. He is waiting outside with the rest of my branch members."

Rexhell replied with a smile. Hearing his words, all the cult members in the hall were dumbfounded with their mouths wide open.

"You.. you! How dare you make a demon lord wait!"

Halivan said with disbelief and anger. A demon lord is an existence that equivalent to gods in the eyes of the demon worshippers. Making a demon lord wait outside was beyond disrespectful.

"I was previously planned to make things quick not to make the lord wait. But you were the one who cut off my sentence and delayed this whole thing."

Roxhell replied with sarcastic tone.

"You... you!"

Halivan's words were forced back down to his throat. At this moment, Derroth slammed the meeting table.

"Stop! Now is not the time for useless arguments. Hurry up and invite the demon lord here. No. It would be inappropriate. We will go to him ourselves. Rexhell, bring us to the great demon lord."

The Crimson Cross's leader and the other cult members hurriedly left the main hall. Rexhell only smiled and followed them outside.
