There is a slight difference between mercenaries and the hunters, the mercenaries would do most types of jobs in exchange for money on the other hand hunters' sole job is to hunt beasts, they either work for themselves or some group.

Hiding behind the trees, Kai peeked and observed them there were seven men and four women, and the bodies of all of them were quite muscular, even the women had muscles that most men won't have.

A couple of trees were lying around broken, it looked as if they had just fought a violent battle, a couple of them were slightly injuries and on their feet were the bodies of over twenty blazing monkeys, most of them were even alive.

" So this was why they have been hunting at night and so discreetly at that, they want to take these beasts away alive, maybe it is illegal here, so they are trafficking beasts out of the forest. " Kai mumbled to himself and then watched as they began to tie up the unconscious beasts.

" Get ready, we're leaving now. Make sure to close their mouths properly or it would be very troublesome if they began to scream later. " A tall woman with a height of more than six feet spoke, she had short black hair.

" Why don't we hunt more beasts today? We would be able to make an even larger sum if we bring around five or six more.

The organisation is already going to cut half of our gains anyway. " one of the men suggested, out of the seven men he had the shortest height of only five feet.

"…" The leader stayed silent, she looked over the batch of the demons and fell into thoughts.

Kai was sure that this bunch of ruffians would definitely give in to their greed and would walk happily into the danger zone on their own to get the extra money that they would never be able to get.

And just as he had expected the leader nodded after some time, all of them seemed cheerful as they thought about the extra money they would be making.

Kai decided to move away from them before they ended up attracting beasts towards them, but just as he was about to jump to another tree he heard their voices again.

" If we are going to hunt more beasts then we can't take all these beasts along with us, what should we do with them? " someone in the group asked, after pondering for a few seconds the leader replied.

" Let's bring the alive ones with us, we can't leave them here or divide our team to stay guard here and they would also be useful in luring more beasts later. As for the dead ones, just hide them somewhere, we can take them on our back trip. "

The group did as they were told, they took the bodies of the alive beasts along with them and quickly hid all the dead beasts in the bushes and then covered them up completely.

Then after looking around to make sure that no one was around the whole group walked even deeper into the forest, they were being extremely careful as they moved.

After a few minutes when Kai was sure that those people had walked enough distance, he slowly climbed off the tree and walked closer to the place where they had hidden the corpses of the beasts.

He quickly removed the bushes and found two corpses hidden there, both the blazing monkeys were killed in a clean manner and had only single wounds on their bodies.

Activating the Soul Eye, Kai looked at both the demons as his pupils turned purple, he could clearly see the energy present in their entire bodies and how it was slowly moving out of their bodies and disappearing.

' I don't think I can extract energy from their meat yet, so it's completely useless but that core, the energy isn't dissipating from it, maybe I can use it. ' he thought and took out one of the knives that were tied to his pant, by a small rope.

Taking in a breathe Kai rolled up his sleeves and walked closer to the bodies and then he gently cut open their bellies up to their throats making sure that the blood did not splutter onto his clothes, he took out a piece of their meat and observed it closely, but there wasn't anything he could understand about it just by looking and he knew better than to try to eat it.

So he threw the meat away and again concentrated on the body of the beast, with his Soul Eye Kai could see that there was still a core inside the body of the beast which contained more than a quarter of the beast's total energy, it was impossible to know when those hunters would return so without wasting any time he bent down and tore open the body of the beast.

In the area near the heart of the beast, Kai found a core that looked almost like a black coloured stone, but even after the death of the beast, the energy was not leaking out of it, it would take a long time for all of the energy to dissipate from the round thing.

It was nearly two to three centimetres in diameter, he observed it closely for a few seconds but couldn't discover anything else about it, and since that hunter could return at any time he stored the core in his pocket and instantly walked towards the body of the second beast, he made just one cut exactly above the core and took it out, then he hid the corpses back into the bushes and covered them properly.
