School Project Part 2

"Xiaxia, what are you doing? Get over here and greet Mr. Vorn." Shen Yi had no idea about the turmoil brewing in his granddaughter's heart. 

Shen Xia slowly crept out from behind Lilith, keeping her head lowered. She dared not look at the handsome man, or images of her strange dream would begin to appear in her mind making her feel even more subconscious of this evil person. She kept her head low and, as she bowed slightly, "Mr. Vorn…."

"Master Shen, your granddaughter seems rather shy." Kable's lips curled up into a big smile as he gazed at Shen Xia. He really couldn't get enough of those cheeks that were slowly turning pink.

"Haha! Of course, she would! Mr. Vorn is a handsome young lad. Our Xiaxia is still young, but she is a budding beauty herself. I hear Mr. Vorn does not have anyone by his side... If you interest..."

"Grandfather!" Shen Xia yelled out. Was her grandfather trying to sell her off!? She couldn't understand why her grandfather would even offer such a thing to a demon! 

"Haha! Master Shen is right. She is a beauty. We can always talk about other things later. For now, I came over to have Young Miss Shen sign the adoption papers." Kable knew not to continue the topic her grandfather was mentioning. Although, he did find it rather amusing that Shen Yi was offering up his granddaughter. But from the looks of his little Fluff Fluff cheeks, if the conversation went on, it would have an adverse reaction, and he did not want his Fluff Fluff to come to dislike him.

"Ahh! Yes, yes… Just know the offer is still there. Come sit. We will sign the papers." Shen Yi could sense that Kable was not opposed to what he had just said. As someone who knew a lot about the other races, he knew who Kable Vorn truly was. The Vorn family was very powerful not only in human society but also in the hidden society. No one was able to stand at the top except for them. As such, having someone as powerful as him watching over and taking care of his granddaughter would make him feel at ease.

Shen Xia's hair was standing up on end. She did not know what her grandfather was thinking! But she knew it was not good to make a scene here, so she did not bring it up again. She would at least wait until the evil man was gone. The group sat down at the table, and Kable passed the file over to Shen Xia for her to sign. "Once you sign this document, you will be officially Shen Lingxin's guardian. Shen Xu has already signed it,  so once you sign, it will take immediate effect. Read through it and tell me if there is nothing you do not understand." 

"Mm.." Shen Xia picked up the file and began scanning through it. Most of it was just a bunch of legal information. The key points were that any time Shen Lingxin got in trouble, she would need to be there to handle it. That she was responsible for Shen Lingxin from this moment on.

After fully reading everything, she placed the folder down and signed it before pushing the file back over to Kable. "Check to make sure I did it correctly."

Kable nodded and picked up the file. He looked at her signature and nodded his head. "You are all set. Shen Lingxin is now under your care." 

Shen Xia let out a sigh of relief. At least now Shen Xu can not corrupt his youngest daughter anymore since she was now officially no longer his daughter even if they were related by blood. But this also meant the signing was done, and she could get away from the devil! "Since this taken care of. Mr. Vorn, thank you for stopping by. I must excuse myself since I have a school project to work on." 

Kable watched as Shen Xia stood up, turned around, and quickly made her way out of the room without looking back. She was like a bunny rabbit running escaping a predator. To his side, Shen Yi chuckled. "She does seem to be very aware of your presence. This is a good thing." 

"I will admit I do find your daughter very attractive. But are you sure about wanting her to become part of my family? She is a nine tail, after all." Kable dropped all pretenses now that the room was cleared.

"I can already see that it is more than just attraction. Otherwise, you would not have planted one of your own at her side. I won't ask how you two met, to begin with, but to answer your question, I wouldn't be willing if it was not for the fact that Vampires have always kept the word. So I will ask you, if I let my granddaughter marry into your family, would you treat her right and protect her?" Shen Yi's voice was very serious as he asked this. He had to have a clear answer, or he would have to find another way to protect his Xiaxia.

Kable looked at Shen Yi and sighed while smiling. "They say age makes you wiser. But I wonder, with how old I am, why is it that you still seem wiser than me? To answer your question, I promise on my name as Kable Vorn, the Master of the Vorn family, that I will treat Shen Xia like a princess and protect her for as long as we are together. I will also swear on my name that Shen Xia will not be turned unless she asks for it or it is necessary to save her life. Nor will I drink any of her blood, or will I allow anyone to even get close to it." 

"Then, Mr. Vorn, I will leave my Xiaxia to you. But you need to let her go to college before she can get married or anything else." Shen Yi nodded his head in satisfaction. The added additions to his promise made him very satisfied. He could now leave his granddaughter in good hands. If something happened to him, she would be safe. 

"I will need to take things slow anyways. I can not let Fluff Fluff get scared of me, now can I?" Kable smiled as he said this. Just remembering her soft body leaning up against him as she slept soundly in his arms was proof that she was not completely against him.
