4 Meeting Part 1

The area Shen Xia lived in could be considered a rural area, but it still had many tall buildings and alleyways. Because of her current predicament, Shen Xia was planning on using the back alleys to get to the store. She only wanted to go to the store and then go right back home. She just couldn't stand being stuck inside the entire time since it was really boring, and wanted to stretch her legs.

Standing outside her house, Shen Xia quickly checked herself to make sure she didn't seem too out of the ordinary. Once she was sure she looked fine, Shen Xia made her way out of the yard slowly and looked both ways before quickly running down the street to the nearest alley. As someone who grew up in this area for most of her life, she knew the area very well.

Once she reached the alley and saw that it was empty, Shen Xia relaxed more and began walking at a leisurely pace. She raised her arms above her head and interlocked her fingers as she let out a satisfied sigh. "It feels good to be out! I like my home, but I hate how stuffy it can be."

Shen Xia lowered her hands and put them behind her back. Although the alley was gloomy and smelled weird, Shen Xia still liked the fact that she was outside. She made her way down the alley, taking her sweet time as she knew she would have to return home once she was done at the store. After a few twists and turns, she had finally arrived at the corner store and went inside. She felt nervous as she walked through the door, afraid people would figure out she was not exactly human, but no one spared her more than a quick glance.

Seeing this, Shen Xia quickly grabbed a snack and a drink and went to the counter to pay for it. Once she got her items, she quickly ran out of the store, accidentally bumping into someone in the process. "Sorry!" Shen Xia bowed her head slightly before darting off to the alley nearby. She did not want to hang around too much longer since every second around a lot of people would mean her being caught. Only when she reached the second turn in the alley did the tension she had built up just now finally relax.

Back in front of the store, the man who Shen Xia had just bumped into paused his steps. He sniffed the air, and a smile crept up on his face. "To think what I was searching for was this close..."

The man turned and left the store and entered the alley nearby. As he did, a man in black appeared behind him, as if he had come out of the shadows themselves. "Master, it seems you have already sensed it."

"Mmm… I have been investigating the Shen family for so long there is no way I would mistake their blood for someone else's but this smell..." The man paused and took a deep breath. "To think that on a whim, I came to check out the daughter they treated so badly only to find what I was looking for. How many years has it been? 100? 400? The last one to appear was murdered in cold blood before they could even grow. I never got a chance to have a taste..." The man licked his lips as he walked down the alley. But as he did, he suddenly heard a girl yell out.

"What do you want!?" Shen Xia clutched her bag. She did not think her luck was so bad to run into the local gang so close to her house. Normally this neighborhood was free of these kinds of people.

"Hehe… You see, we smelt something sweet, so we came to take a look and what do we find? A little candy walking around all by herself." A young man with a shaved head said. He looked only a few years older than Shen Xia.

Shen Xia took a deep breath. The anger within her was starting to well up. She was never one to get angry easily, but for some reason, this guy's words angered her to death. She felt her eyes twitch as she let out a low growl from her lips. This low growl even stunned herself. But she had no time to care about that. The young man and his two friends behind him were walking straight towards her. "Stay away!"

Shen Xia was officially scared. Not so much about the two men, but because if she were to have to fight here, these young men would find out about her current condition. And that was something she could not deal with. Her heart was pounding, and her anxiety was sky high. She did not even realize that parts of her body were slowly changing. Only a single thought came to mind, a thought that she would never even think of thinking about, but it was ringing out clearly in her head. If her current appearance couldn't be revealed, then she could just kill them to silence them, right?

The young man laughed out loud, hearing Shen Xia tell him to stay away. "Girl, you should just give up. In this place, no one will come to your rescue."

"Grr… I said back off!" Shen Xia's eyes began to change. Her pupils began to transform into that of a fox as the color of her eyes became more yellowish. The anger within her was beginning to grow with every step that the young man took towards her.

The man Shen Xia bumped into was now standing on top of the building above her. His blonde hair fluttered in the breeze slightly as his deep blue eyes gazed down at the scene below him with great interest. The man in black behind him stepped forward and asked: "Should I kill them?"

"No, wait… I have a feeling this little fox will surprise me. I would hate to let such an entertaining scene come to a close before it even starts." The man's eyes began to turn from a deep blue to a maroon color before turning completely red. He was excited to see what was going to happen.

The man in black stepped back and shook his head. He knew his master was having a good time. Once the hunt was on, he would never let anything interrupt it. He was sadistic in this aspect. He had a love for the hunt and was brutal in many ways. Many of the vampire race had come to call him the demon king.

"Grrr… I said... " Shen Xia's eyes were glazing over in rage as the corner of her lips curled up, baring her teeth at the young man. She had not noticed it, but her canines had grown a little longer, looking more like fangs than regular teeth.

As the young man reached out to grab Shen Xia, who seemed frozen in place out of fear, he suddenly felt something tighten around his neck and also felt the ground beneath him leave his feet. He flailed his arms trying to get free, hitting the baseball cap on Shen Xia's head, causing her hat and hoodie to fall off. What he saw completely stunned him. He now realized that this person who he thought was a young girl was, in fact not human at all! He only heard the girl finish her sentence before a cracking sound was heard coming from his neck: "Leave me alone!"
