Chapter 58: Meeting the Unexpected

Chapter 58: Meeting the Unexpected

___

During the years that I have been trapped in this world, I have pondered countless times—Who am I? What am I? Where am I? Yet, no answers emerged, despite years of contemplation. The only tether I felt to this realm was through the two siblings that I have seen in the village, particularly the girl named Ume.

I trailed her life throughout the years, observing her journey from a street-dwelling child of a troubled past to a formidable lady wielding political influence capable of shaking the very foundations of the kingdom.

I witnessed her grow, evolving from a sweet, gullible child into a manipulative woman, unflinching even in the face of death.

Even in the final moments of her life, where she defiantly set herself ablaze, determined not to let others sully her body.

But her journey didn't end there. She became something new, something potent, something demonic.

Encountering demons that lurked in the shadows, preying on people, was not a novelty for her.

However, the scene unfolding before her was a whole new level of terror. This particular demon stood apart from the others—deceptive in demeanour. Cold, humorous, friendly, carefree, calm, and charismatic, yet beneath that façade laid an emotionless psychopath.

She observed him reveling in playing with everyone as if life were a mere game, and witnessed the transformation of the siblings into demons.

For the first time in years, she felt her heartbeat, as if it truly resided in her chest. With each progression of Ume's transformation, her heart pounded harder. When their metamorphosis into a demon reached its culmination, suddenly her mind went blank.

Her mind remained in this state of blankness; she couldn't see or feel anything.

The void lingered for an uncertain duration until, unexpectedly, one moment her sight and sensations returned. It was a difficult sensation to process, since she was unfamiliar with it since her arrival in this world.

But she swiftly adapted to this newfound state, and attempted to assert control over her body. However, to her surprise, she found herself unable to command it, no matter how hard she tried.

A sense of being trapped within her own body enveloped her as her body continued to move autonomously, beyond her will.

Helplessly, she could only watch through its eyes, unable to influence anything. Over time, a sudden realisation dawned upon her – it wasn't her body but Ume's. The truth became clear as she caught a glimpse of Ume's reflection in the mirror.

"I am in Ume's body after her turning into a demon," she thought, observing the life of Ume, who now identified herself by the name Daki.

Her life as a demon starkly contrasted her human existence. She became not just brutal, but truly demonic, taking more human lives in a day than she had throughout her entire human existence.

She witnessed her growing stronger and more formidable with time, ascending through the ranks and gaining power with each consumed human.

It was then, one day, she was abruptly visited by the Demon Lord himself. As soon as she laid eyes on him, she felt her body react instinctively, an internal force compelling her to bow down before the imposing figure, and her body complied.

The Demon Lord smiled at her, offering encouragement. Then as he was leaving, his hand suddenly transformed into an appendage, piercing her neck before she could react. He injected large amounts of his blood into her, causing Daki to lose consciousness as well as her.

Upon awakening, she found the Demon Lord gone, leaving her alone in her room. As she regained consciousness, she sensed a profound change within—her body growing stronger, perception sharpening, and regeneration accelerating beyond anything she had before.

From that point onward, Daki continued hunting humans, collaborating with her brother to eliminate 20 Hashiras as years passed. Devouring them, she grew in strength, reaching a level comparable to an Upper Moon over the course of the next hundred years.

She went so far as to become an Oiran, strategically targeting high-ranking members of human society. The grudge from her human life persisted, driving her to seek vengeance even when her memories of human life were gone.

But everything changed one day when the body she inhabited encountered a handsome young man during one of her Oiran sessions. Whether fueled by attraction or some other force, she broke her hundred-year pattern and invited him into her room. Intimately engaged with him, as he played with her body continuously for hours even when he was just a human.

Trapped within the body, she too endured continuous pleasure for hours, leaving her mind in a state of both exhilaration and exhaustion. Despite a demon's body possessing near-infinite stamina, the limits of one's mind were evident after such prolonged experiences.

Subsequently, she observed as Daki attempted to ensnare him as her slave. However, a sudden interruption in their conversations revealed that the young man, whom she initially believed to be merely human, was, in fact, a demon slayer in disguise.

In their confrontation, she came to the realization that he wasn't an ordinary demon slayer; his strength surpassed even most of the Hashiras Daki had faced before.

Her heart shattered, and her mind succumbed to cold rage as he killed Gyutaro. Even though Gyutaro was no longer himself, just a shell of his former human life consumed by rage and insecurity, the act pierced her with profound sorrow and anger.

She witnessed him effortlessly countering every ability Daki threw at him. Yet, when he unleashed a peculiar attack, his hands radiating a dark-golden glow, and slammed them against Daki's head, her mind went blank for the second time in her existence..

Once again, she found herself in the void, eyes closed, sporting a blank expression. This expression rapidly morphed through various emotions in just a few minutes, cycling through thousands of changes..

In the end, her expression shifted to one of understanding, as if she had grasped something vital.

"I was Ume all along."

" I was Daki all along."

I was just re-watching my whole life through a third perspective lens after that shock in my mind by that demon slayer.

Having reached her conclusion, she opened her eyes again, this time in reality.

In the middle of the Jungle.

For over 12 hours, we've been travelling to HQ, covering 70% of the distance with a brief half-hour break every six hours.

"How I wish I had my bike right now!" Ace mumbled, tired of running through the jungle while carrying a box on my shoulders.

"What's a bike?" Suma asked curiously, being ninjas they were mostly unfamiliar with most modern machines due to their reclusive lifestyle.

"You know a train, right?" Ace asked.

"Yeah, the one used for traveling," Suma replied.

"A bike is like a mini version of it, which you can take anywhere without needing railway tracks," He explained.

"Really? Can you take it anywhere?!" Suma asked excitedly.

Ace nodded, and her enthusiasm led to a barrage of questions about bikes that he patiently answered.

Time passed swiftly, and it was already midnight. Although camping in the jungle was an option, the body of a demon in the dead of night made it difficult for the three of them to rest peacefully.

Instead, we decided to just maintain a medium pace, conserving stamina to reach the HQ as quickly as possible.

"How long is she going to sleep like that? She won't surprise us, right?" Makio suddenly asked.

".....I don't know how long she's going to stay knocked out, but it should be at least a week before she wakes up," Ace explained.

As even he didn't know how things would unfold, since the day I discovered I could accelerate my healing during the day by breathing , I began experimenting with it and tried the same during the moonlit nights.

As anticipated, I found myself able to accelerate the production of spiritual energy within me during the breathing done under moonlit night. Although I couldn't explain how I sensed it, it felt instinctive. So, from that day onward, I began accumulating it, even though I hadn't found a way to use it, and it collected within me for months.

As for why I tried to use it on Daki, even if I didn't know what effect it would have on her, it was simply because anything in overdose leads to some type of harm.

And this was proved when he tried testing it in one of his experiments, using all of the spiritual energy he had produced over three straight days. He directly injected it into a mouse, and without waiting for a second, the mouse ceased all movements, resembling a braindead person.

Afterward, he took the mouse to Shinobu for inspection. At first, she looked at him weirdly for a second before the mouse captured her attention.

Quickly, she dissected the mouse's various parts and cut open its skull to inspect its brain. She performed various medical procedures and inspections for half an hour.

"What did you find?" Ace asked with a curious expression.

Shinobu appeared deep in thought, taking her time before replying, "It's the first time I have seen something like this. The rat seems to be in some self-inflicted coma, as there are no signs of brain injury, and all of its life functions are responding and behaving correctly with no errors."

Then she looked at him and asked, "Where in hell did you find something like this?"

"...."

Well, that happened. So, from that incident, it became evident that an attack with his spiritual energy could at least induce a state of coma in someone.

So, he decided to try the attack on Daki, eager to see the outcome. If successful, he would have a live, incapacitated demon to extract all the information from, and Shinobu could also enjoy a live demon to continue her research.

While he was intimate with her, he didn't forget that she had tried to enslave him for herself, so she did deserve some punishment.

And Even if it didn't affect Daki, it wouldn't matter much since it could at least incapacitate her for a moment, it was enough time for him to end her off if he were serious.

Lost in his thoughts, Ace suddenly halted in his tracks, prompting the others to stop as well.

"What happened, Ace-sama?" Hinatsuru asked, observing his expression turning grave but he gestured for them to remain silent.

She quickly scanned her surroundings but couldn't find anythi–

"I am here if you are looking at me," a sweet voice suddenly called her, causing goosebumps all over her body as she felt the voice as if it came right beside her.

Frantically looking around, she saw Ace looking at a certain direction. Following his gaze, she saw a pale young man with blonde hair sitting on a nearby tree's branch looking at them smilingly.

"What's with that scared expression? Or am I looking ugly today?" He said, forming an ice mirror in his hands and examining his face.

"Nah, I am still handsome," he said with a voice full of narcissism.

Then he looked at them again with a more pronounced smile and said, "Now, where are you taking my fellow demon? I hope I can come there too"

Apologies for the unannounced delay! I had some college work to attend to and even suddenly got the urge to write a Naruto fic. So, I ended up writing around 10 chapters of it and got a little too lost in it.

So you can anticipate a Naruto fic at the end of this month or the beginning of February. Initially, I intended to write a smut fic, but as I continued writing, I felt it would be a waste to make it solely a smutty fic.

So, give me suggestions for it. Would you prefer just a smutty plot or something more serious? Or would you prefer the middle ground with a mix of porn and plot?

70% Porn+30% Plot

30%Porn + 70%Plot

55% Plot + 45% Porn

And if you want to read my Naruto fic early, you can join my Patreon. I will be posting it there before the official release.
