" Ah yes," the demon licked it's lips and giggled. " The purest hearts are always the tastiest!"

I gripped my sword handle.

" It's just a demon," I told myself. " Like the one I fought a while ago."

I went by this little rule. If a demon didn't attack you, don't attack it. So I waited for the demon to land the first hit. Before I was able to react the demon grabbed by the leg at an amazing speed! It tightened its grip and I started to feel a pain in my leg.

" You don't seem like much of a challenge," the demon frowned. " How sad. But I guess I can make an exception since you came to help that 'person' when you heard the scream."

The demon's mouth opened wide enough to fit a whole body and in it's mouth showed hundreds of sharp teeth.

" Water Breathing Second Form!," I thought. " WATER WHEEL!"

I slipped my foot out of the demon's grip and spun forward with my sword cutting the two of the demon's right arms.

" THAT WASN'T NICE!," the demon shouted. " I THOUGHT WE WERE ACTUALLY BEGINNING TO BOND!"

I landed on my bad leg, causing me to hesitate in attacking again. The demon swatted me into a tree, making me hit my head. I got back up immediately using what Master Kai had taught me. Me and the demon simultaneously. I stepped back when the demon tried to kick me.

" You may be a challenge after all," the demon chuckled.

The demon slashed me leaving a claw mark at my rib cage. I spun around and sliced one of it's left arms off. Now it only had one arm left. But, I was wrong. As it's other arms regenerated it grew three more others. So it's if I cut off one he grows one.

"You know the last person I ate was so powerful that I had to tear them apart limb by limb! Truly brutal if you asked me," the demon shook his head. " But it'll be much easier with you!"

The demon punched me in the chest, sending me back sliding across the ground.

" Your breathing is all over the place, ASVASUKE!," I shouted in my head. " If I can just get in the right angle and use two forms at a fast pace I can win this!"

" Full Focus Water Breathing!," I thought. " Water Wheel!"

I got on the demon's left side and used Form two faster than the last time. This got me to cut off all the demon's arms at one time! Then I jumped into the air and got my blade ready.

" First Form!," I thought again. " WATER SURFACE SLICE!"

In one strike I finally had the demon's head depart from its body! I landed on the ground onto my knees. The demons still had the same greedy smile on its face as it turned to dust.

" Thank you for such a pleasureful fight," those were its last words.

I bowed, " Your welcome..."

[ Seven days later...]

" Welcome back," the creepy twins greeted the eleven kids who made it back. " You have all passed the final selection. You're all safe with nothing but minor injuries."

Seems like everyone I personally knew made it back.

" I'm gonna die I'm gonna die I'M GONNA-AH-," Yoshiteru started babbling but then took an enormous kick to the back from his older sister.

" Shut up and listen, crybaby!," she scolded.

" DID YOU JUST KICK ME?!," Yoshiteru yelled with dramatic tears in his eyes.

Tojuro had his usual smile, Sumihiko looked fine, and I guess the rest of the people I knew were looking alright. Frightened, but alright.

" Next you're going to pay for your uniforms, get your bodies measured, and be put into a rank. Right now the highest rank is the 1st you are in the lowest rank, which is 10th," the twins continued. " Right now you will choose a chunk of Tamahagane Alloy. Your blade will be completed within ten to fifteen days. Also, for as long as you are in the corpse a Kasugaigarasu will be following you."

A black crow flew down towards me and landed on my left shoulder.

" It-It's the screaming bird," I muttered.

" Why did I get a Stubtail," Yoshiteru asked. " Is this a joke or something..."

" Now, come over here and choose the alloy you would like for your blade."

I walked up to the table where the rocks were. I stared for a while wondering how any of them made a difference.

I felt a hand touch my shoulder.

" Which one are you going to choose?,"Takeuchi questioned.

" What's up with your face?," I asked. " Your veins are popping out like crazy."

" What are you talking about? I'm completely fine," he laughed. " Even though I ran into ten demons this week!"

" O-Ok..."

[ Fourteen Days Later...]

" Y-You don't have to be so quiet, Kai-Sensei," I said. " How about you tell my family how much you trained me until my limbs felt like they were going to fall off."

Master Kai stayed quiet. Then, he finally spoke.

" Your son is very talented, Mr. and Mrs. Seinaruya," he told my parents. " But I have no doubt he'll die in his first mission."

" HUH?!," My mom and Dad exclaimed.

" It was a joke...by the way you'll be expecting someone to kick down this door in ten seconds," Master Kai mentioned.

Outside of my house door I heard a huge battle cry. Then that's when the door was slammed down. A man with a weird face mask came out of nowhere with a long case in his hand.

" WHERE IS ASVASUKE SEINARUYA!?," the strange person asked.

My dad stood there staring at the man, " What the he-why did you-."

The mask guy stepped close to my fathers face, " ARE YOU HIM!? IF NOT WHERE IS HE!?"

" I-I'm right here," I called.

" YOUR NICHIRI BLADE IS READY!," he shouted. " WOULD YOU LIKE TO HEAR THE ORIGIN OF THE SPECIAL STEEL OR NO!?"

" Sure," I winced.

" ALRIGHT!!!!," The man yelled. " MY NAME IS TABITO! ORE AND SAND GET ENERGY FROM SUN BLAH BLAH BLAH DEMON KILLING WEAPON COLOR CHANGING BLADE TRY IT OUT! I BETTER SEE A GREEN, RED OR YELLOW BLADE!"

He took the sword out of the case. The handle was black with a dark purple line pattern. I unsheathed it.

" I don't think you should swing that around in here," Kieko mumbled.

I waited for a minute until I saw the sword start to change its color. It was this Dark Blue color with black faded into it.

" Seems alright to me," I said.

" YOU BASTARD IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RED," Tabito shouted. " WHY IS IT TWO COLORS, HUH!? I WOULD ACTUALLY PREFER A YELLOW BLADE BUT STILL!"

He took out a knife and slashed it at me.

" WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?," I screamed. " IT'S JUST A SWORD!"

" BREAK IT AND I KILL YOU EVEN HARDER THAN I TRIED NOW!"

A black bird then banged into a house window. I opened it and the crow started to peck at me.

" MISSION!," it yelled. " MISSION, MISSION, MISSION FOR ASVASUKE! THERE IS A VILLAGE SOUTHWEST FROM HERE! THERE HAS BEEN MASSIVE BLOOD AND ADULT DISAPPEARANCES EVERY NIGHT! HEAD THERE IMMEDIATELY! NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW! YOU WILL MEET ANOTHER DEMON SLAYER THERE! YOU TWO WILL WORK TOGETHER! NOW HURRY!"

" Wait, who am I going with?!," I questioned.

" TOJURO RENGOKU!," the crow yelled as it flew back out the window.

" Asvasuke your stupid bird got a feather on me!," my sister complained.

*THIRD PERSON*

" Wait, where did he even go?," Keiko looked around in confusion.

Asvasuke showed up again but this time already in his uniform.

" I have to go!," he said. " If I come back alive, there's no doubt I will, I'll come here straight away if I don't have a mission right after!"

" Wait!," my father ran up to me. " Asvasuke, take this, sone!"

He held out and earing in his palm, " It's something sacred to the Seinaruya name! Where it at all times. It'll protect you for sure. Oh, and bring me back a sevioneer if you can."

I nodded and headed out.
