28 Kiyomi's Goal

Seeing that Giyu was about to wake up, Kiyomi started getting ready to leave while thinking, slightly unhappy and dissatisfied.

'Tsk.. this Giyu... even though I prevented that tragedy. Still such an iceberg.'

Giving instructions of how to take care of their mother to her younger siblings and instructions of how to take care of Nezuko to Tanjiro, Kiyomi hung Giyu's katana on her waist and walked towards the door.

Opening the door, she was just about to leave before she felt her haori was held onto by a pair of hands.

Looking back, she saw Nezuko holding onto her, unwilling to let go.

Kiyomi tried to move, but she just dragged Nezuko with her.

"Ugk! Nezuko! Let. Go. Of. My. Haori!"

Nezuko, being dragged on the ground, refused to let go:

"Hmm~! phm! mhhph!! mnphh!"

Stopping just a few steps away from the door, Kiyomi turned around and tried to pry Nezuko off of her haori.

After a long and grueling fight, Kiyomi finally won.

Instantly flashing a few meters away to prevent Nezuko from holding onto her Haori again, Kiyomi watched as Nezuko sat on the ground cutely and started to weep.

"Wuuu~!! Mmmm~!!!"

Helpless and distressed, Kiyomi could only go back to comfort the crying Nezuko.

Giving Nezuko her much-deserved head pats, Kiyomi didn't know what to do to comfort Nezuko.

Tanjiro and the others know that Kiyomi would come and visit them, but Nezuko, who has her intelligence lowered due to becoming a demon, was still distressed at the fact that Kiyomi would be leaving them for a long time.

After thinking about it for a while, Kiyomi decided to do something that she has not done in a long time.

...

Singing.

After all...

'Songs are inspiring, aren't they? At least some of them are...'

"Ahem.."

Clearing her throat, Kiyomi rehearsed the anime opening song, "Gurenge", in her mind.

"Well... Nezuko, you can't always throw tantrums when you don't get what you want. And I can't always be by your side... But! I can, however, leave you a song that I personally created to remember me by! Tanjiro you get over here too!"

Kiyomi was not stressed at all that she stole someone's work of music since she was going first, in the world of demon slayer, and second, no one's created that piece of music yet.

Tanjiro, who was called by Kiyomi, reluctantly walked over.

'Why am I always the third-wheeler???'

But once he heard the soothing, soft voice coming out of Kiyomi's mouth, all of his resentment disappeared.

...

"Finally~ You've given me~ A reason to be strong~ ..."

The song, Gurenge, which was supposed to be a very spirited song, has turned into a masterpiece of various emotions.

It also kept its main essence of being spirited, but it also added many components that made the piece an even more inspiring song.

Sadness was instilled and hidden away in the tone of the sentences, and the song was very refreshing at the start, switching quickly between a heavy and light emotion.

But as the song got further and further in, it revealed more and more of the sadness that was within the song.

At the same time, it brought out another clashing emotion, hope, and a hint of light.

It was like describing a story of a child, from the start of the sadness and depression that was hidden away, to the realization that depression wasn't going to get anywhere.

And the hope that was quickly beaten down but getting back up. Again. And again.

To the end, never giving up.

Even if the child was beaten down, over, and over again.

Just keeps getting back up.

Anyone who heard the magical voice of Kiyomi would undoubtedly get goosebumps all of their body.

Along with the lyrics that were being sung, it would bring anyone with depression straight back from hell and give them a piece of light, that would always guide them.

Weirdly enough, even with no instrumental accompaniment, there were still vague pieces of instrumental music that accompanied Kiyomi's voice throughout the song.

The wind whistling, the rustling of the leaves, and the snow mists forming, all brought a mysteriously enchanting atmosphere to the air.

Thinking with a joking mentality, Kiyomi thought: "Are the systems watching me sing right now?"

Little did she know, she really got it correct this time!

... In a certain part of reality ...

A certain system netizen: "F*CK! Holy dear Semira lords!"

System netizen #2: "Wassup bro? Didja find any chicks stripping on SASOD or something??"

System netizen #1: "No! Dude, cmon! That was just one time I found that video from the system anime series on demand! I really found something awesome this time! It's still a chick but her voice is so soft that I can't help but want to-"

System netizen #3: "Dear Semira Moriana! Shut up! I don't want to hear your weird kinks again! And don't defile our new guild member's minds!"

System netizen #2: "If I remember correctly, you somehow went to the illegal version of SASOD to get 'that' video..."

System netizen #1: "... [Link] Just watch the damned music video. It's gone viral already! If nothing happens, she'll be the one to win!"

System netizen #3: "So it was only a music video???"

System netizen #1: "..."

System netizen #2: "..."

Random Introvert with no friends: "Hey, you guys got some Interesting topics. Can I join your guild??"

System netizen #1,2,3: "...Get out!!!"

Random Introvert with no friends: "Aww..."

...

Finishing up her song, Kiyomi kissed Nezuko's forehead and said her goodbyes:

"So, Nezuko, be a good girl and listen to your brother, okay?"

Turning her eyes to look at Tanjiro, Kiyomi said:

"And Tanjiro, you need to take good care of the family okay? I now give you the full responsibility of keeping them safe and healthy. And always, always remember to breathe."

Letting go of their hands, Kiyomi started to walk away from them and towards the road that led down the mountain.

Kiyomi said as she waved her hands to her family: "I hope I'll be able to see you guys again soon. See you all then~! Take good care of kaa-san! Okay?!"

Hearing Kiyomi's goodbye, Takeo was the first to reply: "Yeah!! We'll take good care of kaa-san! See you Kiyomi nee-san!"

Hanako: "Be safe nee-san! You promised me that you'll sing me a song!! The one just now didn't count!!"

One by one, the children said their goodbyes and sent Kiyomi off.

Nezuko was the one who still seemed very reluctant to let Kiyomi go, but she still waved her goodbyes and mumbled a lot, which was presumably her goodbye words.

"MMPH! MMNNMN! MHPHMM!"

Laughing at the cute Nezuko, Kiyomi waved her hand until they completely disappeared from her view.

Refocusing her attention on the road, Kiyomi thought of people she had already saved in the past years.

Using her fingers as a marker, Kiyomi counted: "One... Kanae. Two... Sabito. Three... Makomo. Four... should be my next goal."

Short durations of memories flashed past her eyes as she mentioned each of the names of people she had saved.
