59 Chapter 58. Fire And Ice

Chapter 58. Fire And Ice

Sarael had just finished wearing his trousers when he heard a loud ruckus noise from outside. Both of them petrified and turned their gaze towards the origin of the sound.

"What's that?" whispered Tania.

He placed his index finger in front of his lips and walked slowly toward the bookshelves that covered their room. After peering for a while, his eyes widened. A black-haired woman in a black military uniform without any kingdom crest swung both of her fire chakrams at the undead in the room. Blow and destroy them in minutes. 'That's her!' thought Sarael. He couldn't possibly mistake her since he already fought with her three times. In the first fight he underestimated her, if it wasn't Tania who saved him, he would already dead by now.

"She's coming," whispered Sarael.

Tania walked slowly toward him and peered through the gap.

"That woman is the one who almost killed me and took your tribe's Tome of Darkness." He turned to Tania. "Stay here. I'll take care of her."

"No. I'm coming with you. She almost destroyed my tribe. There's no way I can stay silent," Tania replied. Her eyes filled with determination, she was already far from her tribe's settlement since she was driven out of there. She was accused of conspiring with Sarael to steal the tome. Now the culprit is in plain sight, of course, this is a good opportunity to take care of her.

Sarael looked at her for a few moments.

"Okay. But promise me, if something goes wrong, you should get out of here immediately."

Tania nodded and cast 'Magic Boost' at Sarael.

He felt his power multiply, his magic power increased rapidly. Then he raised his hand, the green light of the skull in his hands grew brighter. A spell came out of his mouth.

"Hear these words, hear my cry. Spirit from the other side, come to me. I summon thee, cross now the great divide."

Suddenly the room was covered with thick fog, the woman raised her chakra to get ready for what was going to happen. Her eyes swiftly watched every movement around her.

"Hey, undead boy aren't you tired of playing hide and seek with me?" she said.

Sarael and Tania remained silent.

Seconds later, transparent hands emerged from the mist around her. She swung her chakrams trying to block the hands but she felt like cutting the air.

The transparent hands held her body tightly as the flat-faced specters emerged from the mist.

"Tsk!" she clicked her tongue in annoyance. She was just about to destroy them with her firepower but suddenly Sarael cast another spell. "Death Curse!"

The mist around her turned into the darkness which permeated her body. Her skin began to blackened and slowly spread to cover her entire body, penetrating her nervous system, making her difficult to move.

"Dammit!" she cursed and tried to break away. While the specters lifted her body until her feet didn't touch the ground.

Sarael looked at the woman with an evil smirk on his face since he was sure of his victory. After he was chasing her for a long time, he finally could kill her.

"Freeze," another man's voice came accompanied by the cold wind blew wildly in the room, dissolving the mist.

Both of them turned their gaze to the origin of the sound. A silver-haired man wearing the same uniform as the woman. Nearby a white sword was plugged to the floor, freezing the surrounding floor and quickly spread to freeze the specters, crushing them into pieces. Released from the bond, the woman fell to the floor and landed on her feet. Slowly her blackened skin returned to normal.

"Frost, what took you so long?" she said.

"Flare, acting rashly will only worsen the problem rather than solve it," the man said, pulling out his other sword.

At the same time, Tania reached out and cast another spell.

"Neutralize!"

Light from her hand spread and covered the entire room, stopping the 'Freeze' spell.

While seeing his specters destroyed and Flare successfully released, Sarael cast his spell again.

But Frost tried to stop him, he dashed and swung his sword at Sarael. Strangely, Sarael did not make any move from his position or tried to avoid it.

When Frost's sword almost touched Sarael, Tania cast an 'Energy Barrier' to protect him.

- Trang!

Frost bounced when he touched the barrier, Sarael smirked and cast his main spell.

"Shadow Kill."

The whole room was covered in darkness, black hands came out of the whole place and began to grab their bodies into the darkness.

Frost and Flare exchanged glances for a moment. Shortly sparks appeared around Flare as her eyes turned back to Sarael, at the same time the air around Frost froze and the temperature of the surrounding air dropped drastically.

"Tell me where is the book?" he said in a cold voice.

"Do you think I will tell you?" Sarael answered sarcastically. The green light of the skull in his hands grew brighter as he added his magic power to pull them both into the darkness with his 'Shadow Kill'. But it wasn't that easy since they have great power. The black hands that tried to reach their bodies continued to bounce away by their magic power.

"Since you don't want to say it, then we will find it ourselves!" said Flare angrily, the sparks around her began to turn into flames that were spinning around her as well as the ice that surrounded Frost.

Sarael's sweat began to drip and his breath began to pant as he felt his power begin to drain away. Their power continued to pressure Sarael, within a few seconds he ran out of magic power.

-BOOM!

Their power exploded, destroying the whole room, at the same time Tania used her 'Energy Barrier' with all her might to protect Sarael and minimize the explosion's impact.

-Brakkkk!

Strong winds threw Tania and Sarael crashing onto the walls. Smoke and dust filled the room.

* Cough * * Cough * * Cough *

Tania coughed, she felt very dizzy, a ringing sound echoed in her ears, the pain was stinging all over her body. When she lifted her head, she could see Sarael's body not far from her.

"Sarael ..." She called out his name in a soft, barely audible voice as she crawled through the splinters scattered between them.

She checked his condition, even though he was still alive but he was dying. She cast 'Healing Light' at him but before the healing light came out of her hand, the light shattered into pieces.

Not yet giving up, she cast more 'Healing Light' at him while praying. But of course with empty magic power after holding the explosion, all her attempts failed.

In frustration, she shook his body repeatedly trying to wake him up.

"Sarael! Sarael ... Wake up!" Realizing her efforts would be futile, she hugged him tightly. "Please wake up ... I won't doubt you anymore ... I beg you please don't leave me..."

The explosion's impact subsided and the smoke disappeared. Frost and Flare could see the surroundings clearly. Their attention was immediately drawn to a thick book with a black chain that locked it and covered with a dark aura that floated in the middle of the room.

They approached the book with an evil smirk that graced their faces. Just before they reached out to take it, suddenly the tentacles tied the book quickly and pulled it.

Andrew caught the book and immediately turned to run away followed by Kitty. But before they managed to escape, Flare threw both of her chakrams and it plugged on the floor in front of them.

In an instant, it turned into a huge flame that stopped their steps to escape.

"Why are there so many intruders today?" said Frost coldly.

"Who are you ?! Why are you after that book ?!" Flare said curtly.

Andrew and Kitty turned around without answering. Although they wore black robes with hoods covering their heads and faces, they didn't want to reveal their information any further than that. They knew Lilieth had asked them to steal the book and avoid the fight but it seemed like this was unavoidable. Kitty takes on an attack stance while Andrew turns all of his fingers into tentacles and lifts it. Its tip swooping down like a snake's head ready to rip off its prey.

"Looks like they are mute," Frost said, preparing his sword to attack them.

Flare clicked on her tongue, the blazing fire in her hands reshaped her two chakrams.

"Then we have to take care of them quickly."
