27 Chapter 22

These actions of Wang heading off to deal with work while Ai struggled to 'bulk' himself up continued on for a few weeks.

During this time Hiu was cultivating himself as he shadowed Ai around. Whenever the smaller male had busied himself with whatever strange activities he was doing, the Ice tiger was taking the free time to grow stronger. He needed to do this, in order to be able to keep his holy lord safe from others!

It wasn't until after these weeks that Ai finally realized that regardless of how much he worked out, his body wasn't getting the needed bulk to feel manly. Instead, however. It was serving to make his body even slimmer and instead of squishy, his limbs and stomach now had a good definition to them, his waist seemed even smaller!

Wang started to notice his little wife was becoming more beautiful and wondered if he should get the male to stop with his work out if this went on any longer than the poor thing would be nothing but skin and bones!

It was dinner time, and Ai was stuffing himself like normal as he pouted to the side. Wang's eyes moved over the expression of the other as he smiled softly to himself. "You know, if you want to work out that's fine, but you should still cultivate. Otherwise, you'll never make any progress," he said with a teasing tone.

Ai blinked a few times before looking over to the larger male. "Ah? Oh, I just forgot..." he said his mind still wondering what he was doing wrong. He was clearly doing everything one should do to make themselves bulk up. Why wasn't it working?

He let out another sigh before setting his chopsticks down and hanging his head. Maybe in this life, he'd never be a manly god ah!

The head servant that was waiting outside cleared his throat, stepping into the dining area as he kept his head lowered. "Lord, the Elder wishes to speak with you." he stated in a soft tone that seemed annoyed. He'd told the Elder several times that the lord was eating, but he refused to budge and forced him to inform the Lord of his arrival.

Wang looked to the servant before nodding, waiting for the old fellow to bring in his biggest headache.

One given the okay, the servant hurried out to let the Elder in, his manners remaining respectful despite feeling a great grudge against this Old Fox for having ignored his warning.

"Greetings Lord," the Elder said with a slight bow and nod to the male before him, his eyes darting to the smaller male just to the side with a puzzled look.

"What is it? I'm eating my dinner." Wang said with an old tone.

Ai glanced up, having not really heard such a tone from Wang before, he was always so teasing and light when he spoke. It was clear that this Elder annoyed him!

"Sorry my Lord, but there was an incident!" he stated with a grave look. It really wasn't that important of a matter, but the Elder wanted to use this as a chance to get a better standing with the lord. Maybe he would then be able to wed his granddaughter to him as the first wife yeah?

"What happened?" Wang asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.

The Elder shuddered before lowering his eyes again, he had been glancing at the young male several times now.

"There is a rumor going about that the great lord has been bewitched by a devil, and that he's so infatuated that he's forgoing his responsibilities as a leader and not taking a wife," he stated as if this was a grace issue.

Clearly, all these old bastards wanted was to use this as a chance to get the male to see reason and name a wife.

Wang tapped his fingers on the table before turning to look at the male sitting next to him. "Ai, They think you're a demon now, hah." he laughed with a sly smile.

Ai glared at the Elder before looking at Wang with a dark expression. "What do you mean to be with? I want to leave ah! I don't want to remain here but this deal won't let me go!" he said pointing to the real trouble maker.

The Elder frowned before looking up at the two, his eyes showed his confusion before looking to the smaller male again. So this was the one their lord loved huh? He was really beautiful. He thought it was some noble girl that happened to get a chance at having a meal with the lord.

"My lord?" he asked, still not really understanding why the male before him was able to so daringly spout out such insults to the lord and he seemed happy about it!

"Don't worry, Ai is my one and only wife. He's able to say whatever he wants about me. The rumors should at least learn the facts first though, I claim him as a wife, but he doesn't take me as a husband. It's so sad, I haven't been able to try for a child at all ah!" he said as if hurt.

Ai's face grew dark red as he shot up to his feet. "W-what wife! What a child! Bastard! Pervert!" he cried as he tossed some water at the other before huffing. "I'll never marry you!" he said.

As if to make his point, Ai shifted from his human appearance to his Fox one for the first time since gaining this new body.

The little kitten size fox hopped onto the table before he huffed, grabbing some chicken into his little mouth before hurrying off with it.

Wang's eyes widened as he watched before sitting there dumbstruck. He hadn't thought the little guy would get that mad ah! How was he to cuddle him in bed now?!

"This is all your fault!" he said glaring at the Elder who was even more shocked. The so-called wife of their lord....wasn't only just male, but a spirit beast?!

Ai in the meantime hurried off with the rest of his dinner to finish alone. Hmph, When he was able to he'd flee this place and find a beautiful wife! Just because he was stuck here in this world, didn't mean he had to marry that damn bastard!
