Demon Island

Demon Island is a fantasy novel that tells the tale of an ordinary urban youth who, after inadvertently consuming a wish fruit from a strange realm, finds himself in the mysterious land of Demon Island. The story unfolds in a vividly fantastical world divided into four major regions: the Dragon Clan occupies the northern territory, the Demon Clan rules the west, the Ghost Clan governs the south, and the Human Clan resides in the Central Plains. In this realm, the forms of life are diverse and extraordinary, ranging from ethereal beings that transcend the cycles of life and death to demons that achieve immortality through various paths. The central plot of the novel revolves around the protagonist's adventures on Demon Island, brimming with elements of magic and exploration.

I must first complete the training camp's tasks

As the bald instructor, Weir, passed in front of me, I desperately summoned the Platinum Glory, and when I heard the words "You are qualified!" I truly felt that my efforts had not been in vain.

Before long, he finished the assessment, and as a result of this elimination, only around thirty individuals remained in the training camp. Jack, Baijing Zhenfu, and Wolf King were honored to stay, while in Lilith's team, all three men passed, but only Mirinda among the women received the "You are qualified!" verdict, leaving Lilith and the blonde Persian cat, Romy, cruelly eliminated.

Yet, it seemed that neither of them cared about being eliminated. I worried for them momentarily but soon dismissed such trivial thoughts; not everyone needed the training credentials of the Demon Slayer Mercenary Group.

"I see a group of rather impressive young men, but your subsequent training will be even more arduous. I am here to announce the commencement of the third training phase, which you all already know about. Each of you must hunt one thousand giant spider monsters, fifty Night Women, fifty Cave Hellhounds, ten Swamp Dragons, twenty Thunderbirds, and five Little Demon Hunters! You have a deadline of ten days! If you exceed this time frame, do not return to this training camp. The more monsters you slay, the sooner you can return, allowing me to grant you early access to the remaining training and expedite your graduation to undertake valuable missions! I assume you all came to Demon Island for this; so put in the effort!"

Remarkably, this time, instructor Weir did not deliver any demoralizing remarks and maintained a relatively calm demeanor. After he announced the dispersal, our group of four naturally joined Lilith's group of six.

"Should we tackle this hunting task first or seek the treasure?"

The question was posed by Baijing Zhenfu, to which Snooker scoffed and replied, "Of course, we should seek the treasure first, hunting some monsters along the way. Once we find the treasure, handling these monsters won't be a problem."

Wolf King pondered for a moment, glanced at Mirinda, and with a chuckle, said, "I have no objections!"

As everyone expressed their tacit approval, I, who had remained silent, suddenly interjected, "Sorry, I need to complete the mission first; the treasure hunt can wait."

Snooker was enraged by my words, looking at me with authority as he murmured, "Didn't we reach an agreement? You intend to back out?" To Snooker's inquiry, I shrugged nonchalantly and replied, "The agreement was merely about searching for treasure; when to go is not for you to decide. I must prioritize completing the training camp's tasks!"

Bullet, visibly dissatisfied, retorted, "Everyone has already agreed to seek the treasure first! You must obey; you cannot act on your own!"

"Please! It seems no one is qualified to represent everyone!"

Upon hearing Lilith mention that the Fruit of Desire was not the only way to leave Demon Island, my enthusiasm for the treasure hunt diminished significantly. Moreover, after achieving a breakthrough in my nameless martial arts, I was convinced that, given time, I would eventually be able to defeat that Winged Demon Ape. I had no intention of recklessly risking my life while my powers were still feeble.

Bullet and Supersonic immediately assumed offensive stances, while Baijing Zhenfu hesitated slightly before stepping behind me. Wolf King also moved a step closer with a knowing smile.

The atmosphere between both sides grew tense.

Wolf King and Baijing Zhenfu were surprisingly standing by my side? I found their attitudes intriguing, especially since we were not particularly close allies, and Wolf King had struck up a connection with Mirinda, which could easily influence his stance.

Snooker raised his hand to quell the escalating aggression from Supersonic and Bullet, addressing us calmly, "If you wish to withdraw, then consider us enemies; tread carefully in the days to come!"

Lilith appeared visibly shocked by our potential fallout, and when she heard Snooker's threat, she was further taken aback. Seeing that I showed no signs of compromise, she spoke up, "Snooker! Wang Lin only said he needs to complete the mission first; he did not say he intends to withdraw. Moreover, you lack the certainty of surviving this mission; creating more enemies will only increase our chances of failure."

Snooker, devoid of any expression, said flatly, "Let's go! Lilith, if you plan to withdraw, consider the consequences!"

Bullet and Supersonic, begrudgingly complying with Snooker's orders, made offensive gestures toward us as they moved back to his side. I pondered whether to clarify things with Lilith when Mirinda, her voice simmering with anger, interjected.

"Snooker, if this mission fails, your fate will be worse than ours; stop flaunting your manly dominance. I believe we should complete the training camp's tasks before seeking the treasure."

"Mirinda, are you challenging my authority?"

Snooker roared angrily, while Mirinda stood her ground, meeting his gaze unwaveringly, and articulated each word, "There are many ways to enhance our strength on Demon Island. The longer we stay here, the more confidence we will gain in achieving success. Your reckless haste to find that cursed treasure will only lead us to an early demise."

Snooker's face turned ashen, clearly taken aback by Mirinda's audacious defiance. He let out a low growl from deep within his throat, his arm muscles suddenly swelling by thirty percent as he swung a powerful punch at Mirinda.

"Sorry, but this girl is now my plaything!"

Wolf King grinned malevolently, his palm revealing a large-caliber handgun, his eyes unblinking as he pulled the trigger at Snooker.

With a loud bang, a bloody hole appeared in Snooker's forehead. However, to my surprise, the formidable-looking bullet from Wolf King's large-caliber handgun merely embedded itself in Snooker's forehead without penetrating, leaving a deep but non-fatal wound. Despite this, Snooker continued his assault without pause, knocking Mirinda to the ground.

As I witnessed Mirinda's body fly several meters as if struck by a speeding vehicle, curling in pain on the ground, I couldn't help but feel a chill run down my spine.

Even with the enhancement from the Tenfold Power Card and Platinum Glory, I could not match such tremendous strength unless I utilized the powered armor.

Yet, while the powered armor offered significant might, it hampered mobility and would adversely affect reaction speed.
