Zachiel immediately retracted his hand and balled it into a tight fist. He looked at his sons, who stared at him with widened eyes, unable to process what had happened.

Laura gasped and covered her mouth, she turned to Sophia, only to see the old woman had her hand on her cheek, and a frightened look in her eye.

"Mother?" Laura called out, snapping Sophia out of her daze.

Rosalind got up immediately and went over to Brooke, she crouched down in front of her and searched her face for any bruising. Thankfully, the old man didn't crack her enough for it to leave a scar.

"Everyone is dismissed, breakfast is over." Zachiel announced, standing up from the table. He left, with his attendants strictly following behind him, leaving the rest of the family in disarray.

William in turn, got up and went to his room to get changed and ready for work.
