The Silver City

As I drew forth from my slumber, a sweet yellow light filled my eyes and comforted me. I was nestled between two large roots with a sweetish maple smelling odor.

I began to ponder what I was doing and where I was until a painful conclusion came to me: I did not know where I was nor what I was doing. My memory was a clean slate containing nothing.

In a panicked frenzy, I began to grab in a violent manner, barely noticing the torn trees and the ornate blade resting in the grass with a black cover.

I began to calm myself, forcing myself into a complacent state as I drew forth characteristics of my surroundings.

I immediately noticed an ornate sword resting at the base of the tree next to where I was sleeping. I noticed the trees were split and destroyed as if a mighty storm had struck them with a vehement force. I noticed the grass was bent and flattened as if a heavy force had pushed their stems to the ground.

As I arose from the ground, an old man with a cane walked up and said "Oh? Who do we have here?"

I quickly asked "Who am I? Where is this place? What am I doing here?"

"Slow down child, I'm sure your answers will come whether from me or from yourself," he quickly responded. "Let's go talk in a more," he quickly looked around, obviously noting the violent appearing surroundings, "peaceful environment."

I agreed and we set off into the distance.

"What is your name boy?"

"Yujun," I immediately replied without even thinking.

"Well there is your answer to who you are," he said as he grinned condescendingly.

We continued in silence until we came upon a perch high above overlooking a magnificent sunset over a well lit and beautiful city.

"Here it is, the silver city," he responded grinning widely. "Quite a majestic sight," he said as he pulled a small pipe out and began smoking. "You will probably find all your answers here, but for now, come to my home until we get more details sorted out." I followed unquestioningly as I was lost in thought from that captivating and sublime sight.
