In a remote jungle nestled between Chu City and Whitewater City within the Da Xuan Country, a thin and frail figure was leaning against a thick tree trunk. Both of his legs were spread apart in a relaxed manner. This figure belonged to a thirteen or fourteen-year-old teenager. Aside from his unusually pale face, the boy had fairly common facial features. His clothes were loose-fitting and a bright shining steel sword was carelessly thrown by his side.
During the previous advancements of the Skull and Bone Scorpion, both had experienced thunder tribulations, but this time nothing of the sort seemed to have happened.
Could there be something strange about this?
Liu Ming was somewhat puzzled as this thought crossed his mind.
In that moment, a voice suddenly came to his ears.
"Master!" The gaping maw of the Skull in front of him moved, and to his surprise, it produced sound, not the eerie cackling from before, but the naive voice of a young child.
"You can speak now?" Although Liu Ming had somewhat expected this, a flicker of joy couldn't help but cross his heart.
Being able to articulate human speech meant that the Skull was no longer a demon with a confused mind, but like the Bone Scorpion, it had begun to develop rudimentary intelligence.
"Yes, Master. I had a long sleep, and when I woke up, my mind suddenly became much clearer," the Skull stated in a childish tone while its jaws moved.
