CHAPTER 32

"What's made my Angel so confident?" Lothaire said with a low husky voice as he stared down at her with eyes blazing like the sun.

"In novels, they usually kiss in places like this." She said with a low shy voice. Lothaire scoffed at her words.

"Really?" He asked rhetorically with a lower sexy voice as his face neared hers and she instinctively closed her eyes, waiting for his lips to meet hers but she waited and waited but nothing happened so she shot her eyes open only to see Lothaire looking down at her with a teasing grin on his face and she pouted her lips in anger as she walked away from him and moved closer to the rails but she tripped on an object that made her lose her balance and she came falling down from the tower completely stricken with fear as she screamed. The wind collided with her body and she felt as though she was suffocating from lack of oxygen with the speed she was falling down and she felt nauseous, her eyelids became heavy and the last thing she could see before falling into unconsciousness was a pair of large black wings sprouting from the back of Lothaire.

......

"What happened to Larisa?" Zion asked as he saw Lothaire carrying the unconscious girl in his arms, but Lothaire ignored him and took her to the bedroom. He laid her down on the bed gently when he heard Onyx and Avian arrive with his superhuman hearing.

"How was the trip?" Zion asked Onyx and Avian but as usual, Avian ignored him as he sat down besides Adina and Darius.

"It was fine." Onyx said with a smile. Laverna walked in and took off her cloak which left Zion's mouth hanging open as his eyes sighted the goddess with radiant beauty. She walked up to him and tilted his chin up, closing his mouth.

"Close your mouth child." She said with a honey coated but dangerously seeking voice. Zion was perplexed by her beauty and as well as surprised by her remark because she looked the same age as him since he was only 21 but he realized that she had been alive since Lothaire had eradicated most of her species so she was definitely older.

"Uh..Hi.." Zion could barely make a proper sentence not because he was stricken by her beauty but he could feel the powerful aura she had which made him a bit awry.

"Where's Lothaire?" Laverna asked, ignoring Zion who was clearly behaving like the child that he was.

"I'm right here." They heard a deep spine chilling voice and they all whipped their heads towards Lothaire who strode in majestically into their meeting room. He took a seat not sparing Laverna a glance before he continued.

"So what do you know about the creatures Laverna?" He said with a hard gaze not wasting any more time since he had to check up on Lariss.

"You know what they say, payment comes first." Laverna's stern voice told them she wasn't sharing anything till she was paid.

"It's not a problem, so speak." Lothaire commanded and Laverna frowned a bit.

"It will be if you force someone to give me their soul. I can't take souls by force unless you want to willingly give me yours." Laverna said with a devilish grin on her face.

"Darius will definitely give you his since he has no choice anyway." Lothaire said with a dark voice but Darius didn't flinch, him and his family were ready to jump into the pit of hell if Lothaire asked them to since he had been keeping them safe for centuries from the gods and his father.

"Good. So what do you want?" Laverna asked with a sarcastic smirk.

"Everything about the creatures." He said firmly.

"Truth is, I don't know anything about the creatures since I only gave them the power to create with a limit of course. Laverna explained but Lothaire wasn't satisfied with her answers.

"Limit?" He asked curiously.

"On how strong whatever they created will be and if my hunch is right, then the creatures we killed in the forest are coming back to life as we speak." Laverna said but she didn't look the least worried, instead it looked like she was having fun and indeed she was. They all looked shocked except Avian with his stoic expression. They were obviously worried about what Laverna said and if she was right, that the sorcerers were creating supernatural creatures that couldn't die, then their empire was doomed.

"Why on earth would you give them such power? Are you insane?!" Lothaire growled angrily at her, he was clearly worried about his fragile mate.

"You'll probably be able to kill them since you're the most powerful creature on the planet but...I'd be worried about Larisa, you know how fragile the human child is and it won't take a second before the creatures kill her while you're probably fighting them off." Laverna blurted out thoughtfully and Lothaire clenched his jaw.

"They have no reason to come for her." Lothaire said immediately but Laverna squinted her red eyes at him.

"Are you sure?" Laverna drawled in a mischievous tone and Lothaire glared at her with raging burning eyes.

"Spit it out Laverna!" Lothaire growled lowly sensing that she had something to say.

"The real problem to the sorcerers is you and the only way to get rid of you, is to get rid of your mate." She said and everyone's mouth slightly parted because she was indeed making sense, if Larisa was gone, Lothaire wouldn't care about anything at all and then, it'd really be over for them all.

"That'll be a stupid thing to do because then, I'll burn the whole word to the ground and with them in it!." He said between gritted teeth, his golden eyes burning fiercer than hell.

"That's where you're wrong Lothaire. You'll only burn the world down when you're consumed with anger but when your mate dies, you get consumed with nothing but eternal loneliness and endless longing so instead of burning the world down, you'll be burning yourself." Laverna said and Zion couldn't help but be impressed by her amount of knowledge and wise words. Lothaire hadn't thought the sorcerers were planning to get rid of his mate that was why he was not concerned at all but now that Larisa was their target, his only main concern was her safety and deep down, he felt fear that he would lose her. Something he had never felt before, something that she now made him feel.

"If you're right, then what do you suppose we do?" He said with a serious expression. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her, he would do anything possible to protect her and not let a single strand of her hair harmed.

"If you want to protect your mate, I suggest you ask your father for help since it'll make it easier for you to protect her." Laverna said with a dark chuckle and they looked at her wide eyed wondering if she was insane.

"What? He almost wiped out the existence of vampires and he took more than half of our kind." Adina said with a frown etched on her face.

"That was centuries ago and I'll do whatever it takes to protect Larisa even if I have to sell my soul to him." Lothaire said firmly, making his points clear and Adina kept shut as she pressed her lips in a thin line in anger.

"We came across the creatures when we were on our way here and I think they were trying to test it out on us." Laverna added.

"They were testing it?" Darius asked curiously with raised brows.

"Yes, to see how strong and fast it is but it was indeed a disappointment...For me though but Avian had it a bit tough so I don't think vampires even stand a chance against them." Laverna said as she crossed her legs elegantly over the other.

"If they're still experimenting it then we should attack them first." Lothaire said impatiently, ready to unleash his wrath on the sorcerers.

"That's exactly what they want, for your mate to be vulnerable so they could kill her easily while you're busy with them." Laverna said and Lothaire's aura became even darker, making the air spine chilling.

"So we wait for them to attack?" Lothaire asked in frustration as he ruffled his hair.

"You'll be able to protect her easily and we'll handle them instead." Laverna suggested which seemed like a good idea at the moment.

"You and Lucifer?" Lothaire asked and she nodded while Adina rolled her eyes in anger.
