Chapter 9: Broken

Death is scary

And inevitable

I have accepted Death

Yet I don't know know it feels so sad for someone

My tears blurred my vision as I walked outside her room, I felt so weak. I sit beside the chair as I wait for my tears to stop.

'What did I go back for? I cannot save her this time'

I lamented my own powerlessness and tried to find Dyne, yet until now she hasn't shown herself.

'Is this the end? Please, anyone, save her!'

I shouted in my mind and without thinking I stood up and went towards a payphone.

"Please… anyone … save my mother"

I begged as I unconsciously taking the phone and dial a number

"Whoever you are, save my mother"

The phone began ringing but no one answered so I decided to hang it up but all of a sudden someone picked it up. The moment I heard the voice from the other line brought shock to me.

"Hello" The voice from the other side felt like a thunder striking at me. The voice, the tune, everything is the same.

"Hello" I answered and brought end to this cycle because everything ended before it already began.

"Your mother is dead"

I said and put down the phone.

"All this time, I've been calling myself"

I realized the truth when suddenly I heard his voice, my voice full of joy before this news.

As my mind is trying to keep up with this event, I suddenly laugh

"HAha..."

"Save my mom huh? What BS I am talking about, I don't have a power like that. All I have done is repeat what is inevitable "

As I lament my own powerlessness, a dusk of gold appears before me, it is the white hooded green haired fairy.

"Kiro"

Her soothing voice give me hope once again.

"Dyne, I want to save my mother, this time… I will save her so please one more time let me go back"

I begged, I have not save her this time but I have another try.

'No matter how many times I will go back I'll save you'

I resolved myself once again but Dyne only looked at me with worried eyes.

"Kiro, you cannot save your mother. Even if you go back, she is already dead."

Dyne give me an undeniable truth but I refuse to believe it

"What are yous saying Dyne, I still have you. You have the power to return time right. Just a bit, I don't know how you do it but just a little bit will do. Please Dyne"

I kneeled and bow as I begged for her.

I don't know why she can do it anymore, but I need to save my mother

"You broke the rules" she said bluntly and looked at me with her unemotional eyes, it is not like diamond that sparkles right now it is a fading gem waiting to be forgotten.

"Rules!!!! What are yous saying, you didn't tell me what is it. Please DYNE, I beg you. Let me go once more. I … want … to save my mom"

I broke down into tears but Dyne did not replied to my plea, she just pat my head and brush my hair.

When she do this, I felt an incomparable warmth inside but now it's different.

I brushed off her hand and look at her with eyes full of hate.

'I dont know why I hate her, I just do, she can save me but she cant save someone dear to me. I can't understand why. Rules, what rules she is talking about'

My thoughts are getting darker and darker, I dont know how to cope up with this.

"Kiro. I already told you. You cannot alter anyone's death"

Dyne brought the rule she speak of and as I look at her, her once sparkling wings are gotten dimmer.
