It seemed like everything started happening all at once. There were sirens blaring all over the city. People started running with no direction, bumping into one another. I stood in front of my door not out of fear, but more from curiosity trying to see something, anything. There was a loud roar as a helicopter passed over my house. Traffic had stopped and the streets became crowded with people trying to squeeze through the buildup of cars. A blood-curdling scream filled the air and time stood still. For a second there was not a sound in the world. Had time frozen or had I? My trance was broken by the sounds of screeching tires followed by metal smashing into metal and shattering glass. I didn't see the cars hit or the body go flying through one windshield and into the next. I just saw the after effect of the crumbled mess. The two cars molded together into one grisly scene. Pieces of bloody flesh stuck on jagged edges of metal and glass. There were clumps of hair and what I assume was the persons scalp hanging from the top of what used to be the windshield of the car that had ejected the body. I stood mortified as more screams started. A panic had consumed the crowd and movement shifted in one direction away from some unseen threat. I hurried to get the key in the lock and ran inside slamming the door behind me. I dropped the bags on the floor and rushed towards the window pulling the curtain aside to see what was going on. It hadn't been long and already I could see smoke billowing up from different areas throughout the city. I was in a state of disbelief at the scene unfolding outside my door. People were chasing after each other in a vicious attack. As soon as a pursuer caught up to their victim they would reach out and grab them, sinking their teeth in as they dragged them to the ground. They would scratch and tear at their skin like animals savagely stealing the life from their prey. Blood covered their faces and hands as evidence of their morbid crime. Just like animals they were eating what they had killed. I looked to where the accident had been and that was when I saw the person that had gone through the windshield begin to move.
