Chapter 16: Ideal Build

The coin falls tails up.

From there on, I'm pretty sure of what I'm doing. It confirms that the direction I took is the best.

After that, I do a few rolls, and come to this conclusion:

My priorities will be:

-Intelligence, Wisdom, Endurance, Will, Opportunism, Strength, Dexterity.

As for the skills I'll be seeking, I'll be looking for ones following these specific arrangements:

-A long-range indirect that can cancel

-A DOT attack

-A small heal with a share of instant heal and a share over time

-An AOE restrictive CC

It reduces the number of skills I have to look for and eventually learn to manually cast by 3. It doesn't seem to be much, but it's close to half.

The first will be the hardest to get, but if my Luck tells me it exists, I'll trust it.

Now that it's dealt with, I am quite hungry.

Yesterday, I directly went to sleep, and today, I directly started thinking.

Usually, eating is fixed in my routine to be right between each login, but the situation this time was special enough that I forgot all about it.

Anyway, let's get to eating.

Thinking about it, I would maybe gain time ordering food online. The time between the order and the delivery could more or less be equated to the time I spend cooking, and it would certainly be more healthy overall, considering how little balanced my diet is.

Money hasn't been a problem for a while now, too.

So should I?

Or should I not?

Actually, with the recent events, I don't like the idea of making a habit of opening my door to someone at a regular time of the day.

Just thinking about it, if someone intends to get rid of me, they could just knock out the delivery man and ring the doorbell in his stead.

My stupid habit-forming ass would certainly forget to be ready for that eventuality after a few times, and I could just get killed out of nowhere, without any time to use any skill.

If in the game, levels get your brain to think and your body to move way faster than a lower leveled person, in real life, even with a partly synchronized status, I have yet to notice such an effect. If I was taken by surprise, I would be unable to react in time.

Actually, should I add some kind of damage-reducing passive skill to my list for irl purposes?

If it's based on Endurance and the stat is synchronized, it could maybe even stop a bullet.

If in-game my logic is to not get hit in the first place, there's no way I can do that in real life.

In-game, not only can I only focus when I need it, but I don't need my full focus even in difficult situations. In life, anything can happen. It's been literally 8 months since I've been "burgled", yet I'm still tense every time I leave my room.

Yeah, let's do it.

If it won't necessarily end up useful, it'll be useful for my peace of mind.

And peace of mind is important for performance, even in gaming. Especially in gaming, I should say. After all, your gaming performance depends heavily upon your critical thinking and your focus. Should you be distracted or lost in your thoughts, you'd just be unable to do much.

Even the scatterbrained me doesn't let myself get sidetracked in a fight, or I'd just be a low-tier filthy casual...

Minus the filthy.

I am an MMO player after all, I do shower at least once a week, waaay above average.

Getting back to the matter at hand, should I aim to synchronize Endurance as early as possible?

While it may not give damage reduction, it might have further uses irl.

Anyway, I just finished preparing my food, let's eat!

-Itadakimasu!

Wait, wrong language!

-Jal meokkessumnida!

As soon as I log in, I see a bunch of notifications.

It's all private messages, and close to all from RedFairy.

My usual routine has my night play end close to late morning, and eating close to noon.

It means that I usually log in slightly after noon, or a bit later if I went shopping for groceries before eating.

Today, I logged off and went to get some real sleep close to the start of my night play.

With how late it starts, my "night play" could almost be called morning play. Most of it actually happens during the morning, after all.

This time, though, I slept, and with it came the disadvantages of usual sleeping: you sleep more than necessary, and you can't control when you stop doing so.

After waking up later than I would usually eat, I even took the time to make my build and eat.

Being more than 2 hours late, of course, my clingy disciple would have spammed me.

When I log in on time, I usually already have several messages waiting for me, so now that I'm late? It's only a matter of course.

I quickly read through all his messages.

It's pretty much as expected, and can be resumed to "Where are you I'm waiting", with just a hint of crying while holding my shirt.

-Ok ok, I'm here.

This should deal with things.

Now, let's see the other messages.

I basically have a few messages from the rest of my guild.

Makes me happy to see that each only messaged me once or twice.

I quickly set up a party, invite everyone, and send a meeting point in the party chat.

Today we are running the canyon dungeon from yesterday again.

This time, though, at least according to my schedule, we're here to try and beat it.

But this time, when everyone is gathered before the dungeon, once we're all here and ready to go, I don't say the usual sentence, or don't even try to say a speech on friendship:

-I know it may seem a bit shocking, but I decided to recruit.

Researching for your writing can truly get you to learn random things. Uber Eats is such an important part of my eating life, yet apparently, the service is not in Korea anymore since 2019.

Originally I didn't really care about the country I set it up in, but now the more time passes and the more I regret it being Korea. I just had to pick a country for which failure would not be tolerated by its fans, and one of which I know the least about... Had I picked Japan or any western country, I wouldn't have so much trouble, because I already have the knowledge, I wouldn't need to worry about messing up every paragraph. At least I guess I can be happy that the fact that the top player of the game lives in Korea is realistic.

(And yeah, the itadakimasu joke was funny to me)
