Pillar of the End

"Let's spice things up shall we?" Sancho said while throwing fireballs around.

The air became incredibly hot, making Sao and Lorian sweat just by standing near him. Balls of fire flew in their direction. Sao and Lorian separated from one another trying to dodge Sancho's attacks.

With his crazed laughter, Sancho charged towards the one who he thought was the weaker one, Lorian. Seeing Sancho charge at him, Lorian prepared himself. He sheathed both his bronze knives and placed his hands inside his pockets.

Sancho saw this, but he ignored it. With his flaming hand, he sent a barrage of flaming punches to Lorian. Lorian curled his stomach, raising both his arms to defend his face.

Although his tunic was fire-resistant, Lorian was still burned by the heat radiating out of Sancho's body. He gritted his teeth, enduring the pain while his eyes showed no emotions. Sao arrived behind Sancho with a stone over his head.

Lorian's eyes glinted. When Sancho's attention transferred to Sao, Lorian with a nail on each knuckle impaled Sancho's arms.

"Ffffffffu!" Before he could say his curses, the effect of the nails activated.

These nails were blessed by the church, to be duplicates of the nails that were used in nailing the son of God to the cross. These holy nails will restrict the supernatural being's movements for a second. Sao then smashed the stone on the paralyzed Sancho's head, sending him flying.

Sancho's eyesight blurred, and his blood looked like magma flowing down his face. Sao and Lorian grabbed their knives about to stab Sancho. However, the nails' effect was shorter than expected as they melted due to the extreme heat of the blue flames.

Before they could stab him with their knives, Sancho raised his hand. "Hell's Curtain"

A line appeared between him, and the two. A gush of blue flame ascended out of the ground causing the two to back away. Sancho took his time to stand up and steadied himself, his eyes turning red in anger.

"Arghhhhh!" Realizing that he couldn't defeat both of them, Sancho looked at the Batallers' mansion where his parents and brother were. Balls of flame converged on his palms, slowly increasing in size.

Sao saw through Sancho's thoughts. He grabbed a vial out of his pocket and threw it at the curtain of flames.

Psssh!

When the flames came in contact with the vial it tried to fight back, cracking the vial from its heat. The cracks covered the vial's body and it broke to pieces, spraying the contents inside of it. Droplets of water showered the curtain of flames, unexpectedly extinguishing it.

"Fool!" Sao shouted as he jumped and kicked the oblivious Sancho in the head.

The balls of flames in his palms disappeared as he slammed into the ground. Sancho shook his head, this was the second time he's hit in the head. Wiping the blood on his nose, Sancho looked at Sao in astonishment.

"How. . How did you. . you do that?" he stuttered.

"Simple, it's holy water," replied Sao showing another vial with water inside.

Sao threw the vial on the immobilized Sancho. The heat of Sancho's body broke the vial, and the holy water sprayed all over his body dispersing the flames.

"Waaaaaaaaaargh!" Sancho screamed. He writhed in pain as the holy water scorched both his body and soul.

As he was screaming, he started choking as his neck swelled. A flaming eyeball flew out of his mouth trying to escape. However, Lorian stepped in and grabbed the flaming eyeball, its flames calmed turning back into a regular eyeball.

"No, give it back, give it back. It's mine!" Sancho cried in pain.

Sao ignored him and turned to Lorian. "Nice one partner. The job is finally done." Sao sighed with a smile.

Lorian scratched his head. "I'm glad I didn't become a burden." he awkwardly smiled back.

Sancho looked at the two casually talking, ignoring him completely. His eyes became venomous, his rage gradually increasing, and his hands shaking as his nails burrowed deep down his palm.

Why are you ignoring me?

Why are you ignoring me?

Look at me, hate me!

Mother, father, please look at me.

Why won't you look at me?

What's with those eyes?

Why do you hate me?

Why are you disgusted with me mom?

Did I choose to be born?

Why conceive me in this world, then left me alone?

Just because I couldn't meet your expectations?

Just because my brother is better?

Then why make me in the first place?

I achieved things too!

I'm a consecutive 3rd honor in all the school grades.

I'm the best chess player in the nationals.

I excelled in painting.

But you treated me like trash!

Just because my brother is better and smarter.

I'm sick of this life!

When I started losing passion and became lazy you scolded me, acting like you cared.

Like you have always been there. But you weren't!

I stopped going to school completely, and you kicked me out of the house because I'm a disappointment. You disowned your son.

Because I lost my value. Because I can't make money like my brother.

Because I'm me.

Because I'm a bastard son.

Because I'm mother's fruit of her mistake.

Then I'll solve the root of your problems.

This family.

You now noticed me right? Finally!

That's all I need.

We can all die now.

Die!

Die!

Die!

I don't care anymore.

Sancho's eyes became venomous. He gritted his teeth, pushing Sao with all his strength. Lorian saw Sancho pushing Sao and charging toward him.

Lorian reflexively threw a punch at Sancho, however, Sancho's bloodied hands managed to grab Lorian's punch slamming him down to the ground. Sancho tried to reach for the eyeball but Lorian kicked him to his chest. Sancho, who's already losing consciousness, staggered down.

Lorian pulled his knife out of its sheath. He kicked Sancho down. Sancho lay on the ground, his eyes were getting blurry. Seeing him raise the knife and about to stab him, Sancho was prepared.

However, Lorian couldn't push himself to move the knife. His arm froze when he saw Sancho's glaring eyes. He froze because when he looked at Sancho's face, he felt nothing.

He killed Anton out of anger. Anger at seeing Joey die in front of him. Those emotions got a hold of him, and blinded by rage he killed Anton. This time, his mind was crystal clear. Clear to notice that he would feel not a single drop of conscience in killing Sancho.

'Am I a murderer?' he thought.

Sancho saw Lorian hesitate. This hesitation was like a light in the dark for Sancho. Without a second thought, Sancho charged at Lorian, grabbing the eyeball and bit on Lorian's arm. Lorian let go of the eyeball, which Sancho gladly stole.

He backed away, staring at Lorian and Sao while laughing in a crooked way. Sancho put the eyeball in his mouth, as tears fell down his eyes. Biting the eyeball in half.

An explosion of flames burst out of the small eyeball. The flame encapsulated Sancho spreading wide around him. "Pillar-" he painfully groaned, as the flames seeped back inside his body.

"Of the End!"

Sancho's skin dried up, and his eyes turned gray. Cracks started appearing on his body, his hair falling off his head, and as he breathed his last, his body crumbled down as the wind blew him apart. There was nothing left of him but the dust that flew away.

Sao and Lorian were shocked at what happened. They were both left speechless by Sancho's action. The hairs on their necks stood up and their bodies went cold.

Behind them, a nerve-wracking scream echoed. Comparable to opening hell's gates upon the earth and billions of agonizing souls screaming for their dear life. However, it wasn't the souls of hell that were screaming, it was the people inside the Batallers mansion screaming in pain.

Sao and Lorian turned to their backs, sweating rivers at the sight of a huge pillar of light surrounding the Batallers' mansion. It was a sight to behold. The azure light shone like the northern lights, majestic and beautiful. People around the town of Holy Mary went outside to capture this once-in-a-lifetime event.

But to Sao and Lorian, it was far from beautiful. To them, it was the sight of hell. The flames were filled with emotions, emotions of pain, anger, loneliness, and regret.

The pillar fell to the ground, and the screaming became intense, breaking every glass in the area. The light vanished in a flash along with the Batallers' mansion. Only leaving a burnt mark of a black sun on the ground.

"I - I am sorry," Lorian said to Sao.
