The Assassination: Part 7

The office door knocked after the span of a few seconds.

"Yes come in." Freddie told as the knock reached his ears.

"Sir, the dinner is ready." Max told as soon as he entered the office.

"Ok." Freddie spoke and stood up from his place. He arranged his coat from his collar.

"Let's go Mr.Carlyx." Freddie said and stood straight in front of the man sitting on the leathered sofas.

Carlyx stood up immediately and nodded. They went towards the office's exit together.

Carlyx and Steve followed the two men in front of them. Four of them passed through a hallway filled with many people that were present there for gambling. Various people were lying on the couches and were getting drunk. Women according to their tastes were sitting beside them. Someone was happy because they just got to experience their victory and someone was disappointed because they lost their massive earning. Losing and winning being the part of this world is experienced by it's every being. So do they were tasting it

The four men went up the stairs. The place was a bit calmer than the one down stairs. It looked like a restaurant. There were some people eating outside in the balcony, some were enjoying the food in the well decorated hall while a few of them were in private rooms leisurely spending their night.

They walked through the hallway and entered a spacious room. It was the private dining area. Freddie told Carlyx and Steve to sit on the soft chairs of the dining table. They sat one by one. Max ordered the waiters to serve the prepared food. A waiter and two waitresses came inside. The waiters were in clean black and white uniforms. A waitress was pulling the trolley in which food was present. The room was filled with the appetizing aroma of the dishes. It smelled great. Carlyx put the handkerchief on his lap so his clothes won't be spoiled anyhow. The food was served in some minutes and they continued eating. The discussion started with Freddie's question.

"How your business has been going lately?" Freddie questioned.

"It's going smoothly lately. We might be collaborating with new companies soon." Carlyx replied and took in a bite of the steak that was served.

"That's nice." Steve replied taking a sip of his pomegranate juice.

"I have heard a lot about you in gambling. When are you going next time?" Carlyx questioned with a grin on his face.

"It's been long I have not gone playing. I finally took time out of my schedule and has planned it for tomorrow." Freddie looked at Carlyx and gave his answer.

"Oh, that's great." Carlyx replied putting some sauce on his plate.

"I offer you to join me tomorrow. It will surely be a great experience for you. What do you think?" Freddie replied raising one of his dark brown eyebrows.

"It is an honor for me to join such a great personality, but I really don't have any experience with Casino's and it's games." Carlyx said as he placed the glass on the table that was in his right hand.

"That is not even a problem, you can just tag along me and see how we do it. Will this be okay?" Freddie said as a grin appeared on his lips.

"Yes it will be fantastic then. I will be looking forward to the coming day." Carlyx answered.

"Will you like to drink to celebrate the start of our new journey together?" Freddie inquired.

"Yup... why not?" Carlyx answered.

"Let's go to the bar after dinner then." Freddie announced.

Carlyx nodded as a response and faked a smile.

The dinner continued for some more time. Meanwhile Carlyx got an amazing plan that how can he make Freddie sign the papers. Carlyx understood that only some praising words could allure the curmudgeon.

Soon the dinner ended. They got out of the private dining area and moved towards the spacious terrace to have some fresh air.

"So let's have a drink then." Freddie declared.

"Yes let's move to the bar." Carlyx replied in calm voice.

Both managers were standing at a distance from their respective boss.

"Let's go then. Come along me." Freddie said with a smile.

Freddie started to move and Carlyx moved along him. Max and Steve followed behind them. They went inside an elevator .Max pushed those buttons on the elevator of the required floor. Freddie passed a smile to Carlyx as they were in lift. Carlyx was revolted by his presence beside him but had to be calm in order to smoothly finish the today's mission.

The situation was all going as he planned. He knew Freddie would be easier than all the others so he picked him first. He had to be vigilant that whole time. Carter told Carlyx that while stalking Freddie he came to know that Freddie's drinking capacity is not very good. He will get drunk soon, but making him sign the contract papers without reading all of it could be difficult for him.

The elevator stopped. As soon as the door opened Carlyx could feel the irritation in his heart. He has always disliked the bars and clubs. He doesn't drink often but if he do he keeps it alone or sometimes with Aaron or Ray.

The place was quite big. It had dimmed lights while some music was playing in the background. Men and women were sitting along each other enjoying their nights while some were on the dance floor grooving around.

Freddie smiled as his old teeth appeared again disgusting Carlyx. "Let's go what are we waiting for?" He said and moved on.

Freddie walked through the bar. Many girls approached him but he denied them with his rusty smile. Carlyx walked towards the room where Freddie just entered.

The attractive decoration pieces adorned the room. There were dim lights. It looked like the room was just specified for drinking. The Matte midnight purple colored walls with golden details made the room look even more elegant. There were low capacious sofas placed in the middle of the giant room. A stupendous glass table was present in between the sofas.

Carlyx went towards the couch where Freddie was sitting and sat beside him. He opened the buttons of his coat to relax a bit. Max and Steve were standing in the door.

"You both should go and enjoy your own time." Freddie said to the two men standing.

"Okay Sir." Max said and Steve nodded behind him.

"Steve, you can leave this file here." Carlyx spoke up.

Steve nodded and came forward to put the black file on the table that was in his hands the whole time. He left and closed the door of the room.

Freddie stood up and took out a bottle of Champagne from the shelves present on the wall of the rooms. He went near the counter present in front of the shelves. He put the glass bottle on the counter and took two long glasses to pour the drink in them. He held the champagne and took out the cork. It created aloud pop sound. Some amount of the liquid oozed out from the bottle. Freddie poured the drinks in the two glasses and took them towards the sitting area.

"There you go." Freddie said and gave the glass to Carlyx.

After offering the drink he sat behind Carlyx.

"Cheers." Both men said in a unison.

Carlyx had a great drinking capacity. It was gonna help him a lot through the night. He took in the drink at once to encourage the old man to drink more even though he doesn't have enough capacity. Carlyx's motive was to get him drunk.

"Woah you just gulped in a go young man." Freddie said and patted Carlyx on his shoulder with the hands on whom Carlyx could see the blood of his elder brother.

Carlyx looked at those hands and smiled but little did Freddie knew it was a dangerous sarcastic grin.

Carlyx stood up and took the opened bottle from the counter. He filled up his glass. The old man emptied his glass after he saw Carlyx pouring in more.

He put his glass forward gesturing Carlyx to put more liquor inside. Carlyx smiled and put more in until it was filled till the top.

One more bottle popped up and now Freddie was drunk. Through this whole time Carlyx was saying sweet and praising words to the Freddie that allured him more.

Carlyx was still sober. He gave an evil grin that Freddie couldn't take notice of. He took the files in his hands and started reading it. Drunk Freddie lying on the sofa noticed.

"What is that file about Carlyx." The aged bastard took the files from Carlyx hands and inquired.

"Oh this file is about our contract. It needed your signatures but I guess we can get it some day else." Carlyx smiled with the reply.

Freddie opened the file and tried to read the first two lines but failed because of the fact how drunk he was at the moment. Mean while Carlyx pressed an un noticeable button on his tie tack that started a voice recording.

"The terms and conditions are absolutely okay. I will sign these." Freddie declared in his loud drunk voice.

"But you should read all papers sir and these are important documents." Carlyx said in a concerned tone but the fake one.

"No I have read all. Give me the pen and tell me where to sign." Freddie ordered.

"There you go then but I have warned you already to read it all." Carlyx spoke in a calm voice.

"Don't worry lad. How can some mere papers just harm me." Freddie spoke.

Freddie grabbed the pen from Carlyx's hands and signed at the required places.

"There you go." He said throwing the pen and file on the other couch beside him.

"This ill mannered dumb old bastard just fell in my trap so easily. Isn't this mission going more smoothly then expected?" Carlyx thought to himself.

If you think Carlyx isn't playing fair then it was also not fair when Freddie just took his only hope, his Felix away from him. It was also not fair when Freddie sent Carlyx the photos how he killed his elder brother. All those pictures and miserable memories were playing again in his mind that whole time.
