Kira?

"Kira? You mean the mass-murdering terrorist from 70 years ago? That Kira?" He was surprised to hear this but soon came back to his calm self.

"That would be the one... Funny... He always considered himself a God, not a terrorist." Ryuk said with some visual confusion.

"Well, some do still think of him as that. Even 70 years later he still has a huge following... Now I guess it's my turn."

Ryuk looked at yamashi with a look of excitement "Then you will accept this ro..."

Ryuk was quickly cut off

"Firstly I want to know the ins and outs of the death note as well as a little bit about the previous Kira. Surely you didn't think I walk into the darkness without a flashlight."

*kekeke* You could see the smirk on Ryuks face begin to grow in size as small raspy chuckle was let out. "I see... You're just like him aren't you"

"Just like him? Do you mean Kira?"

*Kekek* Ryuk began to chuckle again in the same raspy voice "I mean your grandmothers' brother, Light Yagami"

Like a lightning bolt, it hit him. As Ryuk said this he immediately put all the points together.

"I see... this makes perfect sense now. Thank you Ryuk"

Now that someone had said it it was easy to piece together the puzzle. Both Light and Kira died near the same timeframe, both were exceedingly smart, both knew the famous L, and to finish it off Light even worked on the Kira investigation.

"So calm, you really are the same person"

Yamashi looked up at ryuk from his now up straight position and said: "Ryuk, we aren't the same..."

A questioning gaze fell upon Yamashi and so he continued

"Ryuk... I won't lose to mere humans like he did." All of this was said in his usual calm way of speaking.

With this, he laid his head back down and rested. "We can continue this later."

....

"Yamashi~ Come down please, dinner is ready~"

He awoke from his rest to his mothers sweet voice calling him down for dinner.

He got up and walked down the stairs to the kitchen. Once there he quickly helped his mother set the table up with the food. The television running in the background.

"Come on sis, it's time to eat."

"But bro, dad still isn't home yet," She said, obviously not wanting to leave her spot right in front of the tv.

"He's working late tonight, you know that, now hurry up and listen to you brother please" their mother butted in.

"Ok mum~" she replied with the voice of an angel.

The dinner was like any other family dinner and lasted for about 20 minutes. Yamashi was the first to finish.

"Thanks for the food mum, it was good" Yamashi quickly stood up and walked back up to his room.

*Background*

"Thanks for the food mum!!"

"Hey you're in jr high now, I shouldn't have to tell you to finish your food."

"yes mum~"

*Back to Yamashi*

Once in his room and after making sure nobody was listening, he opened his mouth.

"Did you really have to hover over me the entire time?" the sound of annoyance could clearly be heard in his voice.

"My whole reason for coming here is to no longer be bored"

"Right... Anyway explain the rules of the death note to me and don't leave anything out."

Authors Note: Hey guys dip here, I just wanna say thanks for reading the chapter. This one was a bit of a slow chapter and the next one will be a bit like that too. It will just go over all the rules of the death note as well as some basic info on Light Yagami for those who aren't well versed in the death note series. But don't worry I will probably drop another chapter pretty soon afterwards.
