From Pallet Town to Viridian City

After spending most of the last five years on the desert planet of Tatooine, the fresh sea breeze he felt as he approached Pallet Town made the white-haired young man with vivid blue eyes feel quite at ease. Sure, his small slice of Tatooine wasn't nearly as bad as most of it had been, but it still couldn't compare to the splendor of this place.

This man was none other then Death Rose, who was starting a new adventure in a new world. The Pokémon world was actually the third world he had decided to save, and as luck would have it he had already acquired two Pokémon, even before coming here thanks to his system, which were a Charmander which he'd named Amaterasu, or Rasu for short, and a Shiny Mew that he'd named Genesis, though obviously he had to hide the latter Pokémon's existence from the wrong sort of people, like Team Rocket's leader, Giovanni.

He had already discussed it with Genesis and came up with a strategy to conceal his true form, with his Imposter ability being essential, since he didn't want to keep Rasu confined in his Luxury Ball all the time.

As he approached Pallet Town, neither of his Pokémon could be seen, for they were neatly stashed away in to Luxury Balls attached to his belt at this moment, just to avoid any potential fuss, like any normal trainer in this world. Obviously since Death knew about potential being a thing, he would only use Luxury Balls for all of his Pokémon to help pamper and maximize the potential of any Pokémon he caught. After receiving one Luxury Ball a while back, it was easy enough to copy it as much as he needed with Arc of Embodiment, so he'd never have to worry about not having enough of them.

Catching Pokémon in lesser Pokéballs could potentially lower potential over time, though that was not always the case. It was still not a chance Death was willing to take, especially with two Pokémon that had already maxed out their potential levels. They couldn't increase any higher, but if he was negligent then they might have their potential lowered.

Even through it was his first time entering Pallet Town, Death could easily identify the laboratory of the world renowned figure, Professor Oak. He headed straight to that location, wanting to collect a Pokédex to begin his adventure, since it would function as his identification in this world.

Some citizen's stared at him as he passed them, but he paid them no mind and didn't stop until he reached the door to the laboratory and knocked on it.

After around 40 seconds, a familiar boy opened the door. Death recognized him as Gary mother-f-ing Oak, though obviously he looked older then ten years old. One of the first things he learned when studying this world a bit was that contrary to the show he had seen in his last life, trainers here couldn't start their adventures until they were 17 years old, which made a lot more sense to Death then leaving home at 10, which he considered to actually be absolutely nuts.

"Are you lost or something?" Gary asked Death, having spotted Death's Pokéballs and concluded that he was not here to receive a starter Pokémon.

"No, I am exactly where I wanted to be," Death chuckled "I wanted to meet Professor Oak and see about getting a Pokédex. I already have a starter Pokémon, so that's not an issue. I have two Pokémon, in fact. Anyway, can you bring me to him.

A convertible car pulled up near the house suddenly, and six extremely beautiful women were in it "Looks like my ride is here. I'm sure you can find gramps on your own. Smell ya later" Gary stepped outside and walked past Death towards his personal cheerleaders.

A beautiful young woman in her early 20's with long straight brown hair and brown eyes approached Death from inside and sight "Hello. I'm Daisy Oak. I apologize for my little brothers behavior. I'll bring you to grandfather."

Death was a bit surprised to see Daisy, recalling her from the games and the Manga, but not from the anime. He hid it well, though. "Thank you Daisy. My name is Death Rose. That may sound a bit weird, but alas, it is my name, and it can't be helped."

Daisy Oak giggled "Nah, it is fine. You can't help what you were named." she gestured for him to follow and turned to lead him to meet her grandfather.

After following Daisy, they entered the room where Professor Oak was still talking to a boy and a girl, teaching them about their Pokédex's. The boy had a Charmander beside him while the girl was holding a Bulbasaur in her arms

"Oh, Daisy, how may I help this young man?" Professor Oak asked.

"He wanted to ask about getting a Pokédex" Daisy admitted "He already seems to be a trainer with two Pokémon, so he doesn't need a starter Pokémon."

Death nodded "I come from Alola, or perhaps it is best to say...another Alola...I accidentally stumbled through an Ultra Wormhole and arrived in Kanto. As a result, I have no I.D. at all. Since you can issue Pokédex's, and they can function as I.D., I came to you for help, sir." even though he had never played any games related to this weird Alola region, he had studied some of it's legends before coming here today, and learned of Ultra Wormholes, and constructed this story to explain away his lack of an identity in this world.

The legend was so interesting that he figured that if Alola was ever a region in a Pokémon game, that Ultra Wormholes would be a huge part of the story, so they must be real.

All four of the others in the room looked shocked at the backstory that Death shared. "So, can you help me?" Death asked the Professor. "I was going to begin my Island Challenge, but now that I am in Kanto I might as well take on this league first."

"I heard that myth from Alola, but who knew that there was some truth to it." Professor Oak chuckled "Sure, I can help you with that. It just so happens that I do have a few spares." he went to a cabinet and retrieved a Pokédex and used it to snap a picture of Death, then asked him his personal information. Death answered as he had prepared, with him claiming to be seventeen.

Death was actually quite a bit older then that, or younger then that, depending upon how one looked at it. One year in this world, t turned out, was equal to almost three years in his original world of Earth or his second world of Remnant, and people aged much slower here. Death's physical age appeared to match 17, though, so his claim was not questioned.

After inputting Death's information, Professor Oak resumed teaching Death and the other two about the functions of the Pokédex before the three of them departed. Death did, however, thank both Professor Oak and his granddaughter Daisy before leaving.

While Daisy was beautiful, that was not enough to get him to pursue anything with her. he had nineteen beautiful wives and he loved each of them. He couldn't just trivialize that love by adding every beautiful girl he met to his harem. He was to the point where he decided he needed to be picky about who he flirted with.

While making his way towards the edge of Pallet Town, Death passed another young man whom he recognized frantically heading towards Professor Oaks lab. It was seventeen year old Ash Ketchem. Death ignored young Ash and continued on his way.

Upon exiting the town, he started heading to Viridian City, though he did push his senses to the limit to spot many hidden Pokémon. Death spotted Pidgey, Spearow, Ratata, Caterpie, Nidoran (male and female), Mankey and Oddish, but none of them really stuck out to him as worthy of catching, with the highest potential among them being an Orange Potential oddish. Everything else was red or black potential, which wasn't worth training to Death.

The tedium was finally interrupted when he spotted his first Yellow Potential Pokémon in the wild, leaping out from a slow-moving river for a moment. It was a Magikarp! Death headed towards the bank and created a fishing rod with Arc of Embodiment before coming to stand alongside a beautiful young woman with medium-length orange-hair wearing a tight yellow tank top and jean short shorts with suspenders that accentuated her incredible curves nicely.

This was definitely not the same Misty he recalled from the anime! Her hair was down, and relatively long as well, and Misty never had curves like that! Of course, that Misty was only ten years old, while the one beside him was a young woman with fully developed breasts that, while not as large as Yang's, were still a decent size, with her body shape being similar to Ruby's, especially those breasts, just a bit more like a swimmers build then a warriors, so her muscles were a bit more subtle, but were still there.

Death, however, could control himself fine, because even if this version of Misty was hot as hell and can't be compared to the one from his memory at all, the Misty from the anime didn't really have a personality that was attractive to him "Good afternoon" he greeted her civilly before he started fishing, casting his pole out near the particular Magikarp that he hoped to catch, which he was still keeping track of since he marked it with his magic. Even if he couldn't see it in the water, he knew exactly where it was.

Misty glanced towards Death and a hint of a blush appeared on her cheeks "Good afternoon...Nice weather for fishing" she giggled nervously.

This behavior slightly surprised Death, as it seemed out of character for what he recalled about her character, but he guessed it had to do with her being older, or maybe it had to do with him not being the stupid fool that stole her bike and got it destroyed.

Death nodded towards her a bit "Indeed. And my team is in need of a water-type Pokémon, so I am hoping to catch a good one." at that moment the Magikarp he wanted was hooked "Oh, gotta bite!" he started reeling it in, vaguely aware that Misty was staring at him with a thirsty look in her eyes. The girl was definitely attracted too him. Was the fact that he was fishing turning her on?

Soon he got the Magikarp to shore, and after verifying quickly that it was still the one with Yellow Potential, he just threw a Luxury call at it. It had been tired out while being reeled in, so he was confident in catching it even without a fight. After a couple shakes, the capture succeeded "Well, I got what I came here for, but I don't mind hanging out with a cute girl for a while" he attached the newly-caught Magikarp's Luxury Ball to his belt and then cast out his fishing pole again "My name is Death Rose. My name may sound weird, but it's my name. What cam you do?" he chuckled.

"My name is Misty Williams" Misty answered verifying his assumption about her identity.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Misty." Death insisted cheerfully "A take it you are a water Pokémon trainer?"

Misty nodded excitedly "Water Pokémon are the cutest and the coolest! Unlike disgusting bug-types" she shuddered.

"Is that so?" Death chuckled "What about Surskit? It is a Pokémon from the Hoenn region that is both bug and water-type."

Misty became a stuttering mess, unsure how to answer that. A Pokémon that was both a bug and a water type conflicted with her personal ideology.

Misty.exe has experienced an error.

Misty had never even heard of this Pokémon called Surskit, and she actually did try to study water types from other regions. "I'll have to study up on surskit later then" Misty answered "So what is your favorite water type Pokémon?"

"If we count those from other regions that I know about, then I'll have to go with Milotic. I definitely want to catch a Milotic in the future, or raise up a Feebas to evolve into one." Death insisted "But if I select a water-type from only those available in Kanto, then I guess Gyarados or Lapras."

"I've seen a picture of Milotic!" Misty answered excitedly "It is indeed an elegant water-type."

Death nodded "Like Surskit, Milotic was also first discovered in Hoenn region. Obviously Milotic is much more popular due to it's beautiful appearance."

"Oh hey! I got a bite! I really think this could be a big one!" Misty said excitedly and started dragging it to shore excitely.

The familiar words brought a chuckle to Death's lips, and he recalled hearing something very similar from the anime, just before his suspicions were verified as Misty yanked out Ash and Pikachu from the water and saw they landed on the shore nearby "Ah, it's just a brat. Oh, and a Pokémon!" she moved towards Ash suddenly and knelt to look at Pikachu "Aaaaaah, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay" Ash answered.

"Not you!" Misty snapped "Look what you've done to that poor little thing! Is it breathing."

"Ah, I think so" Ash insisted.

"Well, don't just sit there!" Misty ordered "It needs a doctor right away! There is a medical center not too far from here! You've got to get moving now!"

Death took the opportunity to analyze Pikachu and saw it had a purple potential, which in death's mind made Ash f-ing lucky.

"Oh, you mean a hospital?" Ash asked.

"Yes, but for Pokémon." Misty countered.

"Um, can you tell me which way I need to go?" Ash asked.

"That way!" Misty pointed towards Viridian City before the sound of a flock of Spearow was heard.

"Their coming back!" Ash said frantically and headed to Misty's bike "Ruuuun!" he said while putting Pikachu into the bike's basket.

"Hey, what are you doing!" Misty protested.

"I'm borrowing this" Ash started peddling away.

"Hey, that's my bike!" Misty called out.

"I'll give it back someday!" Ash called out.

"Oh, you!" Misty said with annoyance while putting her hands on he hips, seeming fiesty and annoyed.

Luckily, the flock of Spearow completely ignored Death and Misty and flew over them, though just in case Death had moved close to Misty and called Genesis the Mew out of his Luxury Ball. Mew, as trained, appeared as a Kadabra since others were around at the moment.

Misty sighed in exasperation, then looked at Kadabra "Oh, this Kadabra is one of your Pokémon? That's so cool!"

"With an angry flock of Spearow, I decided he should be out in case a teleport was necessary for us to escape" he explained. "Probably could have teleported that guy straight to Viridian City now that I think about it, but it's too late now." he shrugged helplessly "I'm sure he'll get there in time."

Misty nodded to Death "I'm going after my bike. It was a pleasure to meet you!" she said before chasing after Ash.

Death looked at the disguised Mew "Ho-oh should appear near here soon. Can you please meet it and ask for some Sacred Ash? I'd like to analyze it."

"Daabra" the disguised Mew answered and nodded before teleporting away. Death then followed after Misty, though he was in no hurry. He waited until Mew caught up with him, luckily having received a bit of the sacred ash that Death had requested along with one of Ho-oh's feathers as an added surprise, both of which were placed into his inventory before he thanked the disguised Mew and returned it to it's Pokéball.

Only then did Death speed up to catch up with Misty as she was rushing into the Pokémon Center

"Now I've got you!" Misty was calling out while breathing heavily and holding her destroyed Bike above her head. "I knew I'd find you here!"

"Hey, what happened to your bike?" Ash asked while pointing at it.

"What happened to my bike?" Misty was aghast as his question "YOU happened to my bike you little loser! This is what's left after you STOLE it to save your Pokémon. Now I can see why your Pokémon is in the..." she started to fall suddenly, but Death came next to her and hooked an arm around her slender waist to steady her and saved her from falling, though she still dropped her destroyed bike.

Realizing what Death had snuck up next to her and caught her like that made Misty blush again "I know you are upset, and you have every right to be, Misty, but he was just trying to save his Pokémon, so try not to take it too personally. I'm sure he'll reimburse you for your bike." Death insisted.

"I promise I'll make up for it!" Ash insisted "But I can't do anything about it..."

Death gently squeezed Misty's waist to urge her to remain silent discretely.

"My Pikachu is not too good right now." Ash admitted.

"It's that serious?" Misty asked.

"His Pikachu is in good hands, so I'm sure it'll be fine" Death reassured both Misty and Ash.

He let go of Misty and then headed to the waiting area to await the arrival of Team Rocket.

Misty lost interest in Ash and immediately went to sit beside Death, but was looking rather awkward and unsure what to say to him. Death just felt smug and started telling her about some of the water Pokémon he knew about from other regions, since he knew she was passionate about water-type Pokémon.

After speaking to Misty in this manner for about ten minutes, Nurse Joy came out with Pikachu and some Chansey and was talking to Ash when suddenly another voice, which Death assumed to be Officer Jenny, was heard on speakers throughout Viridian City "Your attention please! Our Viridian City Radar officers have detected an aircraft belonging to a gang of Pokémon thieves. If you have a Pokémon in your possession, exercise extreme caution."

Death released Genesis from his Pokéball again, and it came out in the disguise of Kadabra. As soon as two Pokéballs fell though the skylight, Death was ready "Use Full Power Psychic on those two Pokémon!" he was giving the order even before Ekans and Koffing had appeared, so they were greeted with an instant attack.

Team Rocket didn't have a chance to say their motto or to give any orders to Ekans or Koffing, because Mew's attack knocked both of the poison type Pokémon out. Type advantage for the win.

"Jesse and James, with your skills you could succeed in many different fields, but you have the worst luck when trying to steal Pokémon. I suggest you find a new job. Team Rocket wont exist for much longer anyway. Kadabra, use Psychic, send these idiots blasting of."

Genesis attacked again, throwing Ekans and Koffing at Team Rocket and sending them all blasting off as well, as Death had instructed. That was the one and only chance Death planned to give them to change their ways. He did not know whether or not they would take the warning seriously, but he felt it wasteful to not give them that chance at least once.

Death returned Genesis to his Pokéball and saw the shocked expression on Misty's face "What, did you want to take care of those idiots?" he asked her with a chuckle.

"That was very impressive. You reacted so fast." Misty complimented him.

Death nodded to Misty and then got up to approach Nurse Joy "When you have a moment, can I get you to look over a Magikarp I just caught ma'am."

The Nurse nodded "Oh...sure, let me just get this boys Pikachu where it can rest and recover."

Death nodded and Nurse Joy and Ash continued on their way. At least this way he didn't think that Team Rocket would chase after Ash for the time being trying to steal his Pikachu. Death had left a magical trace on Jesse, James and Meowth, so he could track them down easily if he really wanted too.

He had briefly considered capturing Meowth in a Pokéball and training it, though, after Analyzing it he found it only had Red potential. While being able to speak like a human was impressive, he figured Meowth would never be ably to raise his potential much higher then it was right now.

Even Team Rocket's Ekans and Koffing were both Yellow potentials, and were close to Green, so they likely would reach green potential when they evolved. With such low potential, it made sense that Meowth was basically just a team mascot and not a serious fighter.

Though Misty kept glancing towards Death and blushing from time to time, she did return to chewing out Ash for destroying her bike once Nurse Joy verified that Pikachu would be fine after a rest.

Magikarp got a quick check up as well and was found to be in good health, then Death left the Viridian City Pokémon Center while Misty and Ash decided to stay the night. Misty had declared she was following Ash until he replaced her bike.

Of course, Death could have easily replaced her bike, if he had really wanted too, thanks too Arc of Embodiment, but she was following Ash, so he decided to accept it and move on to train in Viridian Forest.

Magikarp needs a nickname now. If no one suggests a better name before my next upload Tuesday then I'll go with Mystogan (Or Myst for short). It is a Male Magikarp and will be evolved into a Gyarados before reaching Pewter city.

Mystogan is a reference to the character by that name from the anime Fairy Tale. I selected this as a possible name due to Myst being close to Mist which has a water connection, and the character also has blue hair.

If readers suggest a better name, I am willing to roll with it though.
