Sighing, Eru went straight over to Lumian's room. But he hesitated. 'if master knew that Deric is haunted by demons, would he hurt him?' he thought biting his lips. Her kingdom loathed demons and if even one of them knew that Deric was infested, they might kill him easily. 'Since he was a hostage prince, it might even cause war to happen between Lafta and Miriafa,' he thought and chewed on his lips. A slight taste of blood flowed in his mouth as he had bitten his lips until it bled.

"I wish Rebus was here. He would have had an answer for everything," she sighed and pulled at her hair. "maybe—maybe I can write to him. Yes, I can do that,"

Eru ran back to his room and wrote an elaborate letter explaining how deric's demon had returned. "wait....what if someone reads my letters? That would be bad," she scrunched up the letter and tossed it into the trash can. In a new sheet she clearly wrote about the weather and why she left without a word. Later in a small section, she wrote. "What you said about Deric came true. Reply me back with your wise knowledge."

"There," she held up her paper and softly blew on the fresh ink. After it was dry, he folded it carefully. Eru ran over to Lumian. "I wish to send this to re—no to Zhong," he handed over the letter to a sleepy-looking Lumian.

"No letters for mother and father. Tsk tsk, Kids these days,"

Before Eru could explain himself, he banged the door on his face. "I guess goodnight," he mumbled awkwardly and walked back to his room. "I hope Deric is okay,"

On the way he saw Kaden walking towards Deric's door with a glass of milk. 'Oh no, if he goes inside he would find out about Deric's heart demon.' He dashed over and held the door. "Kaden...Hiii, had a good dinner?" he shouted loudly towards the door in hopes Deric would hear.

"Yes, prince, the dinner was scrumptious." Kaden nodded and touched the door handle.

"Ahhh Kaden, have you seen my friend Silas?"

Kaden nodded with a frown.

"Well, he has a crush on you," Eru said with an awkward smile. Inside he was crying, 'sorry my friend, I had to throw you under the bus.' He cleared his throat and whispered, "Poor kid is smitten, and why don't you try talking it out,"

Kaden frowned hard. So hard that his eyebrows touched.

'Oh oh, I did a bad thing.' Eru gulped and tried to salvage the situation. "Oh my, did you believe that? Its Aprils fool's day. Haha, isn't it funny? My joke," he awkwardly tried to brush the situation away.

Right at the moment, the door opened and deric walked out. He was quite pale, but the dark halo around him disappeared.

Eru sighed in relief. He plucked the milk from kaden's hands and gave it to Deric. "Here, drink. By the way Kaden, I will handle the milk delivery from now on. We have to bond as brothers," he looped his hands around his shoulders. Secretly he whispered, "Nice going partner. This man was very hard to deal with,"

Deric glanced at him with a small smile. He relished the milk as well as the person who was holding him. 'I hope this could last.' He thought and bit the glass's rim.

"Now that my job is over, i shall take my leave," Eru whispered and dashed away.

Kaden glanced at him, then at Deric. "Was he stalling for you? What for?"

"Nothing, he was just being naughty," Deric chuckled softly. "Here, thanks for the milk," he whispered and sent off kaden. He closed the door behind him and glanced at the broken shards of glass. He scrunched his eyes up in pain. "What am I becoming?"

Kaden stood out the door with a frown. There was still the strong stench of blood lingering outside the door. 'But why is he lying?'

He sighed and walked out with the glass. He went to the kitchen and washed the cup clean and placed it in the cupboard.

"I can do that," a small voice whispered to his left.

Stunned, kaden jumped to the side with his dagger in hand. A small petite girl stood beside him. 'How did she walk close without any sound?' he thought vigilantly. "Who are you? What are you doing here this late?"

"I am master Lumian's maid, Herilina. Sorry to startle you," she whispered with a cute smile. Her cheeks reviled small dimples on either side, making her look as innocent as a lamb.

If Eru was here, he would have noticed a small six on her forehead.
