Chapter 129 - Leadership [1]

As strange as it was to admit, after everything we'd been through together, I knew very little about Ilya, besides the fact that she was in college, something she had mentioned herself. This made me feel inadequate as the group leader since I didn't know one of the members well. Anyway, after ringing the doorbell, not even ten seconds passed before a female voice echoed.

"Carters' residence, how may I help you?"

As soon as I heard that voice, a feeling of being watched triggered my instincts. Discreetly, I began to look around, as turning abruptly to the camera would seem suspicious. A few seconds later, I found what I was looking for: a camera positioned atop the gate, pointed directly at me.

"I'm Noah Jade, a friend of Ilya Carter. We have a meeting scheduled here at her house"
