"Thirsty?" Amon asked, Lilith, shaking her head to answer.
"No."
"Alright." Amon then put his wine glass down, now staring at Lilith seriously through his mask. "Now let me tell you something and you better listen as these may be the answers that you're looking for."
Lilith then felt excited. With her eyes twinkling as usual as it always were every time she is excited, she then spoke enthusiastically, asking her questions one over the other.
"So you're going to tell me why you're wearing that mask?"
"No, not that. I--"
"How about the background of your work as the Grim Reaper?"
"Lilith, focus. You have to--"
"What are you going to do in the human world?"
"Lilith--"
"Is it that important? And why can't I come? I know that there is something--"
"Lilith!"
"Oh!"
The young lady immediately closed her mouth and covered it with both of her hands to shut herself up.
"I'm sorry," Lilith apologized, her voice heard even though she was covering her mouth. "I didn't mean to. I'm just too excited. There are a lot of questions that I want to ask."
"Obviously," Amon commented, remembering their first encounter 19 years ago.
Even though Lilith right now is 22 years old, her covering her mouth reminded Amon of Lilith's three-year-old self.
When she was being honest, she also covered her mouth, stating that she is a good girl because she is honest.
Until now, her honesty didn't waver. It was still with her and compared to before, she is strong and really outspoken.
She may be a difficult woman to deal with in the future...
"Amon?"
With Lilith calling his attention, she cocked her head to the side, her brows slightly furrowed as she wondered why he suddenly became silent.
"Are you okay?"
Amon still went silent. As he continued to look at Lilith, he realized how much she has changed and how much she has grown. Not only did she mature in her personality...
But also in her looks.
Lilith is indeed no ordinary beauty. With her natural blue hair and heterochromatic eyes, she is indeed a unique beautiful lady. Amon is not one to notice this, but he also observed how voluptuous Lilith's body is, making him conscious around her.
He felt heat in his cheeks. From this, he could ashamedly tell that he is blushing at the sight of her. Damn... he is internally grateful right now that he is wearing his mask because it could completely hide his facial expressions.
'This Lilith... is she still innocent or ignorant? Why is she not conscious of how she's dressed, even around men?'
"Amon." Lilith narrowed her eyes at him. "You're being rude again. Didn't I tell you 19 years ago that it is rude to not answer people's questions? I thought you remembered that."
The Grim Reaper redirected his attention to his wine glass. He then got it from the bar and then took a small sip of it, now directing his focus on the topic.
"Anyway... since you're going to the human world, I see it fit that I have to talk to you in private," he said, Lilith nodding once as she saw the obvious.
"Noticed it. We're here in this room right now."
Amon sighed. "Enough with your witty comebacks. Listen to me."
Lilith's lips turned into a tight line. With her not wanting to sit down, she stayed silent, expectant of what the Grim Reaper will say.
Amon then took another sip of his wine. With a soft sigh of relaxation escaping his lips, he then spoke, completely getting the attention of Lilith.
"The reason why I'm going to the human world is because of you."
Lilith blinked her eyes a few times and pointed at herself, curious and confused as to why she is the main reason for their travel.
"For me?"
"Yes." Amon set his wine glass aside once more. "Your mother is missing."
Lilith's eyebrows connected. With her not understanding anything as she knew that she had never met her mother, Amon spoke again to further make things clear to Lilith.
"I saw your mother. She was dying and she was giving birth to you as well. Because of that, you were taken care of here in the kingdom."
"I see."
Lilith then remembered what Sicily had told her. With a soft blush on her face, she further spoke, Amon completely caught off guard with what he heard from her.
"Sicily told me that you saved me--that me being in this kingdom is because of you."
"What? You heard that from Sicily?"
"Yes," Lilith confirmed. "And may I ask why... when you are the Grim Reaper and you are tasked to get souls?"
"Damnt it." Amon cursed under his breath, but still, it was enough for Lilith to hear. "Why did she tell you?"
"Wasn't I supposed to know?" Lilith asked. "Do you plan to keep this in the dark for me?"
"No."
"Then why?" Lilith took a few steps closer to Amon. "If that is not your intention, then why is it that they are so adamant about me staying here in the kingdom? Why are they not letting me explore places I want to explore?"
"Lilith--"
"Sicily said that it is for my own protection. But what protection?" Lilith interrupted him once more, further expressing her frustrations. "I feel suffocated, Amon. And for whatever reason, I have the right to know as to why--"
"I made a promise to your mother, Lilith." This time, it was the Grim Reaper who interrupted her, no longer able to take Lilith continuously stopping him mid-sentence. "Before she died, she asked me to take care of you."
"What?" Lilith's eyes widened in surprise. "You... met my real mother?"
"And this is another thing that I want to clarify and am curious about," Amon answered, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm not sure if she is your real mother."
"Oh..."
Lilith put both of her hands on her head, pacing back and forth. As she felt more curious about what Amon said, she continued walking around as she contemplated.
Her shawl from her shoulders fell on the floor, making Amon's eyebrow beneath his mask twitch.
"Lilith... your shawl..."
However, even though Lilith is reminded of her dress code, she completely ignored him and allowed herself to drown in her own thoughts while the Grim Reaper watched her... consciously.
