Stood in Awkward Silence

They stopped kissing for a while. Compared to their kiss a moment ago, this time it was heated, making it difficult for them to breathe.

"That's... why—" Amon spoke in between breaths, obviously finding it difficult to voice himself out. "—I wanted you to stop."

"Wh-why?" Lilith stammered, her face beet red as she grasped for breath.

"Don't act stupid," Amon said, tucking a tendril of her hair behind her ear. "You know that you did say those words on purpose because I'd lose it."

Lilith blinked her eyes in innocence. In all truth, it was not her intention; it was just her being honest towards him about her feelings.

"I never thought of that."

"Now you know," Amon said, now cupping her face with both of his hands as his eyes were still closed shut. "This is foolish... I know we now shared some things between us, but this cannot go on longer."

"What?"
