"Yes?"
Lilith answered the call, putting her phone against her ear so she could hear her.
"What's up? You don't usually call at this time."
"I know!" Nadia's voice was obviously laced with excitement. "But putting that aside... want to come with us to the human world?"
'Huh?'
Hearing that made Lilith immediately sit up, her eyes twinkling like stars as she remembered how long she hoped to go to the world above.
"I want to go, I want to go! Damn, I want to go!"
Lilith then stood up from her bed. With her walking back and forth around the room, she bit her bottom lip in excitement.
"Why are you going there?" Lilith asked, Nadia, her friend answering her immediately.
"Oh, ya see... dad was asked to work there with Amon and his friend, Gregory. Dad was like... since the family rarely goes on a trip, then we take it as a vacation while he works on whatever it is he is working on."
"I see!" Lilith stopped pacing around her room. "Well, where are you going to stay?"
"Dad says we can stay over at Ivar's place. For how long? That we wonder. But dad estimates for a week or two."
"Oh, I see."
Remembering that Nadia said that they will go out as a family since they rarely go out on a vacation, Lilith felt that she was intruding by being invited so she then further clarified to Nadia if she could come.
"Is it really okay for me if I come?"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Lilith scratched the back of her head. "Well, you said that it is a family affair, right?"
"Oh." Nadia scoffed as if Lilith had said something stupid. "You can definitely come, you know. As if you are not part of the family. You technically live there in the Kingdom of Gehenna and raised you!"
"I know, but--"
"Hush!" Nadia interrupted her, scolding her at the same time. "We grew up together, Lilith. You're family. They practically raised you."
"But--"
"You're coming, okay? Besides... remember you can't go to the human world even though you requested for a guardian to accompany you?"
"Well, yes..."
Lilith remembered this right now that she is being reminded of it. She always asked if she could go to the human world, but when she was promised that they will, suddenly, they told her that they have to stay in the kingdom for her safety.
She knew that there was a sudden change of opinion when it comes to that. Lilith asked from Sicily, but like she always told her, it was not her position to say.
Could this also be involved with Amon? With Nadia and Aidan going with their parents to the human world for some work related to Amon and Gregory, will her coming with them give her answers?
She will only know when she's there.
"I take your silence as a yes."
"Huh?"
With Nadia suddenly telling her that Lilith's silence is a yes to her invitation, it completely snapped Lilith out of her thoughts.
"W-wait! I have yet to ask permission from Sicily and the others!"
"I'll help you with that," Nadia said, giving her further suggestions. "I will ask help from my dad to ask permission for you. Since you are coming with us and we are staying at Ivar's place, then you will be guaranteed your safety."
"But--"
"No buts!" Nadia interrupted her once more. "You're always strong and you always hold your ground, Lilith. Why are you holding back?"
"Because this is another place--another world."
"Geez... you make it sound like it's hell when you're literally living in one."
The two of them burst out laughing. Lilith then laid back down on her bed, covering herself with her blanket.
"Fine, fine... then you will let me know about their decision if they approve or not. When are you going to leave?"
"Today to tomorrow."
"What!?"
Lilith jolted up once more, not caring that she had already fixed herself comfortably on her bed.
"Why say this now?! How could I prepare if it's today or tomorrow? And the stay is even for a week-long or two? Nadia, are you crazy?!"
"Chillax! You can start packing now while we already ask for you."
"Nadia--"
"Bye, Lilith! See you in a bit!"
"Damn it!"
And with that, the call had already ended. Lilith immediately put her phone down as she made her way to her wardrobe to get the clothes that she will use during her stay in the human world.
"Goodness... what would Sicily say?"
As she was fixing her clothes on the bed as she got a bundle of them from her wardrobe, she put her hands on her waist, thinking if she could talk to Sicily right now so she could pack her things with her help.
Since Sicily knew more about her stuff rather than Lilith knew most about her stuff...
Before she could call her in for a talk, however, Sicily already barged herself in inside Lilith's room, surprising her with her outburst.
"You're going to the human world?"
"Huh?" Lilith blinked her eyes a few times, wondering how the news came to her so quickly. "How did you know?"
"Dharvey called," Sicily answered, now crossing her arms in front of her chest. "She said Nadia invited you."
"Yes," Sicily said, scratching the back of her head as she felt like she was the one being scolded. "I didn't say yes immediately... like I was excited, but I told her that I still have to talk about it with you."
"You say that..." Sicily then pointed at her clothes. "But you're already packing your things."
"Oh... Sicilyyyyy~!"
Lilith then acted childish, now walking towards her to give her an embrace.
"I'm 22 years old! I really want to go! And besides... it's with Nadia and the others! We will stay at Ivar's place! Won't that already guarantee my safety?"
Sicily narrowed her eyes at Lilith. "But we were told that you should stay here."
"Sicily..." Lilith pouted. "Can't we talk about this with the king and his adviser, please?"
"Well--"
Before Sicily could even say something about that, Gregory knocked on the door, the vampire leaning on it as he announced something important.
"You two are needed in the king's lobby. Amon's angsty, if you guys are curious."
