"She is... what!?"
Amon immediately stood up from his seat, making the chair fall to the ground with how fast he stood.
"Why is she coming with us?! Who invited her?"
"Oh... wow..."
Gregory, who was sitting beside Amon, stood up and fixed the Grim Reaper's seat. He then turned to the king and his adviser, giving a small bow as he made a joke about Amon's reaction.
"I apologize for his sudden display of aggression. It seems him hitting puberty and knowing that a girl is joining us irks him so."
"I'm not in the mood for jokes, Gregory," Amon snapped, the vampire just shrugging his shoulders.
"Just... lightening up the mood," Gregory replied, now sitting back on his seat, and then shrugging his shoulders. "I know that you don't want her to go to the human world unless you have answers, but do you have to be so dramatic about it?"
"It's not being dramatic." Amon's tone of voice was harsher compared to how it was earlier. "I'm just protecting her and fulfilling my promise to her late mother."
"Daddy, chill."
Gregory extended both of his hands in front of him and showed his palm, a gesture saying that Amon should calm down. Even though Amon was angry, the vampire was successful enough to make the king and his adviser stifle his laugh.
Gregory is indeed the jester. With him also using slang words of the present time, it made him even funnier.
However, for Nevin, he finds his humor inappropriate for such a time...
"I'm sorry, Amon," Nevin spoke, getting everyone's attention as he apologized on behalf of his daughter. "My daughter, Nadia, invited Lilith. She thought that since she is family for living here in the kingdom, it's alright to invite her."
"Nadia?" Amon cocked his head to the side. "Your daughter didn't even ask you if she can invite anyone?"
"Yes, and I know that this is something that shouldn't happen. I'm sorry. My wife is now talking to them as we speak. I'm sure of it."
"There is no need to panic," Eucraick spoke suddenly, shrugging his shoulders at the same time. "She is with Nevin and his family, and you are all staying at Ivar's place. Nothing will go wrong."
Amon stayed quiet. Gregory then chimed in, nodding his head enthusiastically as he made a comment on what the king's adviser had said.
"I agree. Besides... we don't know that there will be bad things that will happen. You're too anxious about the future."
"Still." Amon then crossed his arms in front of his chest. "It is better to be safe than sorry."
King Blanc then let out a sigh, chiming into their conversation as well.
"So you'd rather leave the girl alone?"
"Yes."
"Mind you, Amon..." King Blanc tapped his index finger on his desk three times, before speaking again. "Lilith, as she grew, was curious about the human world. We told her that she could visit when she grows up with Sicily, but she can't."
The Grim Reaper shrugged. "And so?"
"And so there is no reason for you to be heartless," Eucraick spoke, further supporting the king's future decision. "She was about to go, but when we heard your news, she stayed. Let's give her this opportunity."
"But..."
"Relax." This time, it was Nevin who spoke. He put his hand on Amon's shoulder to assure him that Lilith is going to be okay and that she will be safe. "She will be with my family. The twins will be there. They're not called Crimson Siblings for nothing."
Aidan and Nadia are called the Crimson Siblings. Not only because of the natural red hair that they have inherited from their mother, but also because of how feisty and powerful they are like fire when they are on the battlefield.
Since they were young, they were both trained to be fighters for the Kingdom of Gehenna. They were not forced, but rather their own interest as they saw their father train the demonic army.
Even though wars between the Kingdom of Gehenna and the Kingdom of Elysion were no longer there, they still trained and will fight for their home.
Besides, even within their kingdom, there were revolutions against the current leader since some ruthless demons would prefer to have the ruling of the previous king, King Zen.
It's sad that in their own kingdom, they don't have pure unity. Well, it's expected. Not all kingdoms are perfect.
"I know you are fulfilling your promise to her mother," Nevin spoke again, making Amon feel better. They are indeed close friends, after all. "But you have to relax. Like what the king and Eucraick said. Let Lilith explore."
Amon stayed silent for a while. After debating with himself in his mind for a few seconds, he let out a sigh and then looked at Gregory, his cow-head mask pointing at him.
"Fine. Call her and Sicily here."
"Your wish is my command," Gregory replied, scratching the back of his head. "I will always follow your orders without hesitation, my master."
"Oh, shut up." Amon snapped once more, the king and his adviser stifling their laughter while Nevin just smiled as the vampire walked away to call Sicily and Lilith. "Geez..."
Amon sat back down. With him letting out a sigh, he propped a hand under his chin. He wanted so much to pinch the bridge of his nose, but because he was wearing his mask, he wasn't able to do so.
"This is going to be a pain in the ass."
This time, Amon no longer spoke formally even before the king. Eucraick then asked him a question, getting his attention.
"Why are you calling for the two of them, then?"
"If they're coming, I have to advise Sicily to keep an eye on her," Amon replied, King Blanc chuckling.
"Lilith is 22. She's not a child."
"Still." Amon shook his head, closing his eyes as he further explained why he wanted to take extra precautions. "I have to talk to Lilith in private, too. I think she has to know... right now."
