They all gave up on looking for other related literature when it comes to searching for possibilities of what kind of immortal creature Lilith is.
Everyone, except for King Blanc, Queen Heraleen, Eucraick, and Amon only stayed in the library. With the silence of the room suspended in the air, it made the four of them think if what they have researched is indeed possible.
However, with having little clues as to what Lilith is other than her eyes and her hair, what could they possibly get from that?
They said that when it comes to being an immortal, even a fairy at that, they have a great healing. But Lilith... she doesn't seem to have it.
"Could it be possible that it doesn't happen yet to her because she is young?" Eucraick asked, King Blanc answering his question.
"Well, maybe... but then again, even though they are young, they can regenerate faster," Queen Heraleen answered, all four of them sighing afterward as well.
"I think we shouldn't think about it for now," Amon said, everyone's eyes on him. "We are too observant of the child. Let us let her enjoy for now while we get close with the others. We can get close by then."
Everyone then nodded in agreement. As they were silent again, Amon then looked at Eucraick and shocked everyone with what he said.
"I'll be out of the kingdom for years and I may come back indefinitely."
"What!?"
It was King Blanc and Eucraick who spoke in unison. With them looking at each other, they then looked at Amon as they demand an answer.
"And why would you like to decide on that?" King Blanc asked, Amon already answering as he have already expected that it is to come.
"Since I just became the Grim Reaper recently, I'd like to get to know this power more--how to control it and search about it as well. Take it as a way for my self-training. And also, something that will make me reflect on myself."
"Is it what you wanted?" This time, it was Queen Heraleen who spoke. "I know I am not of this kingdom, but my husband and his uncle seemed to be so concerned about you. I would also like to understand given your unique prowess."
"Simple... it's because I know I won't find anything here if I choose to stay here and the human world above and not explore the other locations."
Amon had a point. With that given, they do know that they have to give his decision a chance. Since Amon's work does involve going in and out of this kingdom then outside, it will grant him more freedom to do his work.
"I will allow you," King Blanc said, further speaking about it. "However, you have to give us updates every now and then."
"It shall be done," Amon replied, with a nod and a small smile on his face even though it's mostly covered with his mask.
"When shall you leave?" Eucraick asked, Amon's answer further surprising them.
"Right now."
"So soon?" Queen Heraleen asked, cocking her head to the side. "But you haven't said proper farewells to the others yet. You seem particularly close to my son Nevin!"
Amon let out a chuckle. "Then all the more I should leave. The longer I stay here, the longer he will bother me into joining his demon army even though he knew I declined because of this position."
"Geez..." King Blanc spoke informally now, scratching the back of his head. "Knowing how hard-headed you are, we know that we can't stop you."
"Thank you," Amon thanked him, now looking at Eucraick. "I will always tell you updates of my travels. I will make sure that I will control this power, too. You don't have to worry, Eucraick."
"En."
Amon knew all too well that even though Eucraick doesn't say much about it, he is worried about him. Eucraick raised Amon since he was a child and even though they don't formally call themselves father and son, they care for each other.
"You have to tell me all of your travels--how your experiences are and what excites you... what makes you happy."
"I will try," Amon said, scratching his mask as he found this conversation awkward.
As he was about to exit the room, however, King Blanc's question halted him from his walk.
"What about Lilith?"
Amon stopped his hand from midway reaching the doorknob of the door. With him remembering Lilith right here and then, he got a short flashback of how they met a moment ago this day for the first time.
"Why are you wearing a cow-head mask?"
"What's your name?"
"My name is Lilith."
"You're no stranger. Lilith can see you from the event a while ago."
Amon thought right here and then that he said that he will be leaving indefinitely. That would mean that for now, he won't be able to see Lilith for who knows how long and that their meeting now would temporarily be the last.
Realizing that he may not know much of what will happen to Lilith, along with the promise that he gave to her mother, he turned his back to talk to King Blanc and Eucraick, with Queen Heraleen as the witness.
"Then let me ask for a simple favor of continuing to watch over her while I'm away. I believe that there is nothing to worry about. It's you all who are taking care of her. Sicily as her caretaker is here, too."
"Well, yes..." Eucraick said, letting out a sigh. "But Lilith is something that you're concerned about, right?"
"Yes, and I am concerned about her because you know all too well why."
Amon then turned his back away from them so he could reach out to the doorknob again to open the door for his departure.
"I don't want to harm her with my power because of my promise to her mother. If I'm away from this kingdom while I do my work, I can grant that promise better--not allowing any accidents to happen because she's a child."
Without even bothering to hear a reply from them, he opened the door and left, having no intention to look back.
