Rhio was asleep when I woke up. It was still thirty minutes before seven in the morning.

I should still be mad but I found myself poking a finger at his cheeks.

"What?" he turned his head without opening his eyes.

I leaned closer to his ears. "Remember?"

"What is it?" his eyes were still shut.

"The chess game..."

He opened his eyes and snuggled close to me. "Later."

I shoved his face away. "But I want to go out now."

"For what?"

"I want to walk outside. I'm dying of boredom here."

"Sure. But if I win, go back to sleep with me."

We stood up in unison and both went in the bathroom. I washed my face and dashed out ahead of him. I went for the chess board and started arranging the contents on its checkered surface. 

Mine were the white chessmen.

"Don't you want to have breakfast first?"
