169 The Dream

After dinner, the two were left alone in the cottage.

There was finally serene and splendid quietness inside.

The two were having their tea in the living room with a set of comfortable yellow-toned earth color sofa.

"Are you feeling better?" Liu Zijian asked as he gently caressed Han Meixiu's hair from the side that was exposed to him.

"En." Han Meixiu replied as she enjoyed inhaling the aroma of her peppermint tea. "Much better."

The faint steam coming from the tea was adding an ethereal aura to Han Meixiu's side profile.

Liu Zijian never thought that a simple scene as this could give him comfort he has been longing the past few days.

It wasn't really because he was extremely busy that he couldn't sleep properly. It was because she wasn't there. There was always a worrisome and persistent voice inside him that would remind him about his wife's absence.

But since he didn't want to bother her during her treatment, he didn't call her outside the scheduled time.

Now, that she's back it would be best if they would just stay close together.

"Then we can schedule our trip back to K Country."

Upon hearing his words she glanced at him. His hand that has been touching her hair moved to her cheeks and his thumb was moving softly against her soft skin.

"What about my training?"

"You don't need to continue…" He nonchalantly answered.

"But Jian, I promised…"

"Removing one part of the entire program is not a problem nor skipping some."

Liu Zijian normally wanted to hug her tightly but she was still enjoying her tea thus he was just settled with touching her head and face.

"You mean, I can start participating for real?"

"En."

"Wouldn't that be unfair?" Han Meixiu continued to ask, oblivious of what her husband was trying to imply.

"Who would dare to say it?"

'No one of course.' Han Meixiu inwardly answered.

"Can I make a request?" She carefully asked as she placed the cup back to its saucer before twisting her body a little to get a full view of her husband.

Liu Zijian who was sitting comfortably beside Han Meixiu simply followed the tea cup and the moment it was placed back to the saucer he pulled her closer.

Though he was perplexed if he would grant her request or not as he already had an idea what was it, he still waited for her to speak.

"En."

"You see,.." Han Meixiu started looking up as she was positioned to lean on his chest.

If she wanted to see him while she's talking she should lift her head. But she could only see his well formed chin and his inviting peerless neck.

For a time she forgot what she was going to say.

"What was it?"

His adam apple that moved when he spoke didn't help Han Meixiu to control herself.

Was she really that deprived?

"I... that... let..."

What was she wanted to ask, again?

"Ah, that's right. When I start to work, can I not inform them about us?"

There it was again. When Liu Zijian heard her, he sighed deeply.

He understood her reason but he seemed couldn't calm down. Denying that he's her husband didn't sound good to him.

"What if I say no?"

"Well, then no it is. But you can't introduce me as your wife out right, okay? Only if they ask then we can say it."

"Okay. That's acceptable, I guess. I personally think you would have more advantage if they know you're my wife. They could never neglect you."

It's still fresh to him what happened. He didn't want to go through that again.

"This time, I will not be outside so the probability of me getting abducted would be slim. Besides, knowing that I am you're wife could bring both advantage and disadvantage to us."

Us.

Liu Zijian liked how it sounded. It was as if they are one.

Han Meixiu was right. If the recent abductors knew she was his wife, the result might have been different.

"Zijian, do you also have a report about my father? You knew Mr. Di and my father are acquaintance, right?"

"He told you?"

"I asked him."

"He answered?"

"En. But Major Li wasn't around that time."

That explained it. Mr. Di wouldn't just carelessly answer anything from anyone when there's an audience as it might be used against him in the future. Plus, a slip of even a small information might not be good for him.

"Would you show me the report?"

"Instead of reading a report, it would be better to ask the person directly."

"You found my father?! Is he okay?"

Han Meixiu abruptly sat straight. She almost sat on his lap as she wanted to examine Liu Zijian's expression.

"He found me. He's doing fine."

Although based from Ye Long's report, Han Yun Xiang only woke up few times, he could already respond positively.

His healing was a bit slow but the doctor was positive that once he passed thru a certain stage, he would definitely get better.

"Thank you!" Han Meixiu teared up and hugged him tightly. She didn't know why she felt extremely happy.

She then remembered the 'dream' Mr. Di showed her.

"Mr. Di and my father were probably friends as they went to same school."

By this time, Han Meixiu was already sitting sidely on Liu Zijian's lap and the latter's arms were supporting her so she wouldn't fall off the sofa.

"Hmm."

"But there was one thing I don't understand in that dream." Han Meixiu started to analyze again that simple scene.

"What was it?"

"It was a common garden. My father was standing near a tree and he was looking up. There was a beehive but in contrast to a normal one, it's color was black."

Liu Zijian whose hand was shamelessly making its way inside Han Meixiu's loose shirt, suddenly halted.

Han Meixiu felt the sudden tension of the young man.

"Zijian, it meant something."

"Are there other information you can recall in that dream?"

"Yeah. My father seemed to be waiting for something and he looked lonely. It was as if he was about to cry." Han Meixiu continued as she remembered her own feelings that time. She somewhat felt how her father was feeling while looking at that bee's nest.

"Did the beehive disappear?"

"Come to think of it. I didn't notice it when I saw my father and Mr. Di under that same tree in that garden."

"Did you tell this to anyone other than me?"

"No. I couldn't tell Xiao Xiao as it wasn't really her concern. I tried to ask Mr. Di about it but he didn't answer me. In the end, I think only you could help me analyze that dream."

"Only me..." Liu Zijian's eyes sparkled as if new set of stars formed against the vast darkness.

Unfortunately, Han Meixiu didn't see them as she was still in the middle of recalling her thougts and trying to provide more information to him.

"Good girl." He whispered on her ear and gave a trailing soft kisses that landed on her half opened pinkish soft like cotton lips. She looked absolutely inviting in his eyes.
