"Huh? What's this?" Han Meixiu was sitting on the couch wearing her usual night gown when she opened the letter.
Liu Zijian who just came out of the bathroom was still towel-drying his damp hair, sat beside her.
"There was nothing."
Han Meixiu flipped the letter several times to check if she missed something. The simple white card stock was folded in half but there was no visible print on it.
'Is this some kind of a joke?'
She tried to move her palm on the surface as she remembered she felt an embossed image on the envelop.
She was right. The message was not written by any type of ink. It was embossed on the paper.
She immediately took a pencil to shade lightly as she had a hard time understanding what was written. It was too sort.
"What? A memorial park? Why does she want me to meet her there." She exclaimed.
"Do you expect a cozy restaurant or coffee shop?" Liu Zijian asked her amusedly. He was also surprised with the chosen location.
"A little? But seriously why a memorial park? It would be fine if it's in broad daylight but..."
"I'll be around, don't be scared."
"It's not that I'm scared, it's just weird." Han Meixiu responded pouting her lips.
"You don't want to wake up early."
"Exactly! Just who would set an appointment at 3am in a memorial park during winter!" Han Meixiu wanted to pull out all of her hair.
"Your mom..." He quickly answered.
Han Meixiu glared at him. She wasn't expecting him to answer. She was just blurting out.
Seeing her irritated wife, he contained his smile.
It's indeed weird but he somewhat understood what that woman was thinking. It's just that his little wife was so against waking up early during winter.
If he could guess, this little woman would opt not sleep at all. But that wouldn't be good for her health.
"Ah, the date coincide with the one you marked."
"Then it's good. I will personally bring you to your mother." Liu Zijian answered smiling faintly.

"This is amazing! We finally have someone to share our loads!" Yan Yan was ecstatic after returning to his working area.
Han Meixiu who was currently finishing her assigned task glanced quickly at him.
"Thank you Young Madam." He said smiling from ear to ear.
"Eh?" She answered looking a bit puzzled.
'He was talking about me?' She murmured and continued what she was doing. Unlike during her first day, she's getting more and more efficient as she was starting to master the process.
The load per person indeed lessened as she was able to cope up with the rest. Although she wasn't still assigned with a serious and complicated case, she already helped by reducing the other tasks assigned per person.
As days passed, Han Meixiu was getting more and more accustomed to her everyday life. Her body slowly developed a habit, and it was a good one.
During the time that her laziness would try to overcome her will power, her husband would simply help her go back on track.
He was much more effective than Li XiaoZhi's nagging before.

"Leader, he's not responding anymore to what we are doing."
"Finally?"
"What should we do next?"
"It's time for my visit." The woman answered.
"Leader, the doctor also requested to talk to you."
"Who?"
"The one who in charge with the young lady we took."
"Oh. It seems I'll have a very busy week. Did Red already return?"
"Yes. They returned yesterday. Her partner was not feeling well and she's currently attending to her."
"92? Why?"
"I've heard she just had her first kill."
The woman snickered upon hearing. She remembered her own story. How many people did she kill in order to survive? What did she fell when she first took a human life? Scared? Nervous? Horrified? Remorseful? Guilty?
She couldn't remember. It was simply because she took not just one life when she first did the deed.
The moment she left Han residence she was destined to live this kind of life. She could never go back to the way she was before much more dragged her baby to this murky world.
She wanted to do so many things but was lacking power. She wasn't fully aware that the quest to seek power would be an endless and dark journey.
She could only forget her previous life and continue to survive. In this kind of life, she only has two options: be killed or kill.
Her goal might have changed through time and her methods were not expected to be acceptable but it was her way to survive, to survive and be victorious.
As she moved one step at a time in this world full of darkness, every step should be decisive and fearless.
If she would waver, then the consequences would be unimaginable.
"Give her another assignment, resting for too long is a privilege she's not yet entitled to have."
"Yes, leader."
"Give Red her next task."
After receiving the last order, the assistant withdrew himself.
The Zhang Huiling took out again a remote from one of the drawers in her own office and turned on the monitoring system.
She studied the man on the screen for a while before a smile appeared on her lips.
'Unless your delusions successfully removed, you'll stay in that room.'
Seeing that the man indeed wasn't responsive anymore, she pondered for a short time and glanced at the digital wall clock.
She has some time to spare.
Wearing the mask of a woman that man was familiar with, she left her office.

"Still no response from Madam Bai?" The doctor asked as she was getting more and more impatient.
The condition of the patient was not really good. Although they were able to stabilize her condition, it seemed that the patient itself was not putting much effort to get better.
"Your concern was already reported. We can only wait for now." Another doctor responded nonchalantly and left the area. He didn't care whom that female doctor was looking for but he still reported it to their head.
The female doctor walked around the room in an agitated manner as she looked at the dividing glass window seeing the patient in full view.
'You're really foolish!' She shouted inwardly.
This woman could really love to this extent?
But wasn't she the same?
After receiving the information she needed from the Third Young Master Chen, she offered herself for this organization's own disposal in exchange of another set of information. Shes fully aware that stepping into this abyss of no return was the worst decision she could ever made but, she still did it.
She was prepared to swallowed all the rational norms and become an emotionless puppet to be commanded.
Who would have thought that her first task was to take good care of this woman?
As she touched the glass while trying to hold back her tears, the door opened.
"Doctor Su, you'll have an appointment with Madam Bai later this afternoon."
It was a quick action that she didn't even see the person delivering the message clearly.
It wasn't important.
Finally, she could talk to her and voice out her concern.
