Chapter-2
Once she boarded the flight, the first class window seat, she looked at the last message on her phone before clenching her hand around it.
The message was harmless, but the hidden meaning behind it was enough to annoy her to the point where she wanted to hit the person.
"You are needed, E."
E. That has been what everyone in the organization called her except a few people since she entered Italy.
While she sat there with her eyes focused on the blank screen of her phone, unknown to her, a blooming actor, George Jet, was also traveling on the same plane and was sitting adjacent to her.
"Miss, please put on your seat belt," The air hostess reminded her, bringing her out of her thoughts.
"Yeah, sorry," she said in her soft voice, and the actor, who was busy on his cellphone, turned to look at the face behind the voice casually.
To say he was surprised would be an understatement.
He looked at her for a few seconds before clearing his throat once the plane evened its pace in the sky.
He wanted to approach her and ask if she was a model.
Her khaki pants and loose top with the rugged jacket was doing nothing to hide her slender figure. The way she sat there with her legs crossed, her finger tapping the armrest as she looked out, was too picturesque to ignore.
If she wasn't a model, he pitied her. This type of body shouldn't go to waste.
"Want to exchange contacts?" The girl suddenly said, bringing him out of his thoughts, and he wondered if she spoke to him until she turned her attention to him.
Since she was wearing a cap, half of her face was hidden, and only her soft, plump lips were visible to him with a sharp jaw and pointed nose.
"Sorry?" He asked, confused.
"Is it because I look like a diva? You have been staring for quite a time. So if you don't want to exchange numbers with me, you have no business to look at me. Staring is rude. An actor like you should know that," she said, and George Jet looked at her with raised brows.
"Aren't you being a bit too full of yourself?" He scoffed.
"I don't think so. I know I am beautiful, and I have no intention and reason to be humble and modest about it. If you don't have any purpose, don't stare, or I will report you," She took off her cap and looked him straight in the eye.
He gazed at the girl in front of him in surprise. Her body was nothing in front of her face. His breath hitched, and his pupils dilated.
Her cat-like eyes and long lashes made him stare at her even more, and she quirked her brows.
George's manager, who had gone to use the washroom, returned and heard all this, widened his eyes.
"I am sure there is some misunderstanding, miss. Please pardon us. He didn't mean to stare. I assure you -" The manager couldn't complete his sentence when George spoke again.
"Would you mind if I ask your number, Miss?" George couldn't help but ask, and she smiled meticulously.
"I would. It was a one-time offer. I want to rest now. Have a great flight and stop staring, whether it's intentional or unintentional," she said, shocking the actor and his manager.
The manager looked at the scowl on his actor's face and coughed.
"I am sure she didn't know who you are and -"
"She knows. She is just not interested," George said in a low voice.
"And you are?"
"Intrigued for sure," George sighed and closed his eyes.
As the girl was about to exit the airport, she saw a nice car parked a couple of feet away from the exit. It looked posh and she blinked her eyes.
It must be waiting for someone influential, for sure.
A man dressed in black with blue shades stood by the car, looking like one of those trained bodyguards who would break your bones as soon as you near their boss.
One day. One day she will have such bodyguards too. They will stand out of the airport with a large board in their hands that would say her name in bold capital letters.
Evangeline Williams
That was her real name. The name that she wanted on the billboards.
She lied to her friends in Italy. Her family didn't call her here.
Neither did her family want her to return to the country for her master's degree, nor did they know she was here.
It was all a fake plan and scenario she had created to get out of that country because she knew there was no other way the people from the organization would let her out of their sight. Their sight and protection.
However, she needed to get out of that protection now.
This road to revenge and getting to her dreams wasn't easy. This wasn't just about gaining some name and fame when she was thinking about messing with the strongest elites in the Country. The elites, who were the reason behind her downfall, and gave her the biggest nightmares that still haunt her.
After taking a deep breath, she tied her hair in a high ponytail. She took a few steps ahead, her ponytail flailing in the air as she moved. Her slender figure with her joyous steps was really a sight to see for people who were entering and exiting the airport.
With her shades on, she looked nothing less than a celebrity.
Many people observed her closely to click some pictures if by any chance someone announced she was a model or celebrity.
Beep! Beep!
She felt her phone vibrating and she narrowed her eyes.
Mr. James? What does he need at a time like this? What are the chances that he knows of her arrival?
No. How is that possible? She is just overthinking things. There is no way he would know. Evangeline nodded at herself and picked up the call, not even seeing where she was going.
In the same airport, at the same time a man clad in black from head to toe with black shades was walking towards the exit in long strides from the other side.
His brows were knitted, sharp square jaws clenched, and thin lips pressed in a thin line, a clear indication of how displeased he was. His aura screamed dominance and demanded submission.
His secretary and bodyguards that were walking behind him were on the verge of pissing their pants because of how dangerous his vibes were.
"Sir, the car might take some time," The secretary cleared his throat, not liking his extra high-pitched voice because of the fear.
"What did you say?" Alexander Laurentius paused, and his secretary controlled the urge to call on his knees and beg for mercy.
"Please forgive me, sir. The driver was on holiday and the next driver I got at the last minute got stuck in traffic," The secretary said, and Alexander's eyes drooped.
He looked at his phone, which had an email of the updated contract, and narrowed his eyes.
With his gaze focused back on his phone, he paced restlessly as he dialed his elder brother's number who was responsible for negotiation.
This was the second time he has heard about such a mistake. He was already angry because he had to go all the way to France and handle this mere issue himself, and now his brother made a mistake again. Was his mind not in business anymore?
Evangeline, who was busy talking to Mr. James over the call, sighed and turned around the corner to exit.
"Don't try to fool me, Mr. James. I know you know where I am. Now you need to tell me how the hell you know I am here. It's not even a few minutes since I landed -mmmph!" Evangeline stumbled back and if not for the man who held her waist in time, preventing her from falling, she would have landed on her back.
Alexander, who was pacing around didn't notice the girl turning around and coming towards him and bumped straight into her.
He was about to turn around with a quick apology when he heard her.
"Woah, what the hell, dude? Look where you are going, will you? And thanks for saving me," Evangeline said, the secretary and bodyguards who weren't too far from them, widening their eyes in shock.
This girl just did not insult their boss by calling him dude, did she?
