CH 9 - Class

As my options was being populated with message saying that it is reviewing my skills and will give me class choices depending on that Karla spoke.

"I have 5 choices. First two have blue border. Being Axeman and Soldier. Then I have two with yellow being knight and masochist. And last one being red border named berserker." She took a deep breath and continued

"From what is written about them here, Axeman and soldier are generic fighters. One focusing on axes as the name implies, second on weapons as a whole. Knight is what you would expect it to be, it gains mounted combat but first you need get something that gives you mount.  Masochist deal more damage less hp he has, that's his whole stuck. He can't use armor. And last one being berserker, it is very similar to the soldier but gets skill enrage. It doubles the strength and halves incoming damage while it is active but eats 10 mana per second while active."

"If you would be able to feed it mana does the enrage last forever?" I asked.

She checked the details and the looked at me. "Yes!"

"If you don't mind take that one, I have an idea that will fix the mana drain of the ability."

She looked at me for a bit then she shrugged and accepted the class. "Kinda curious about that mana drain thing."

"What kind of armor that class uses?" I asked

"Medium." Karla answered.

I popped two chests rather quickly and after a moment I handed two things to Karla.

"Here you go. That neck will neutralize your drain while the armor should help keeping you alive."

Neck was giving +15 mana regeneration per second but nothing else. But for her it meant that her key class ability was always active. And the armor was just a best what I could pull from lowest treasure chest that was medium armor.

"Awesome!" Karla happily proclaimed as she equipped her new gear. "By the way can we jump into clothing store really quick on the way. We have both torn clothes and I would love to pick up backpack and some stuff."

"Sure, no problem." I spoke as I looked at my class selection. My section went from blue choices, to yellow, then red, then golden and lastly prismatic class.

I started by checking class that had prismatic borders.  Most of the rest had pretty self-explanatory names if one had something to do with rpgs in his life like fencer, magic swordsman or ranger.

////

Frozen blade.

Use your quick reflexes and fast movement to dodge incoming attacks and reply with quick and deadly attacks of your own. This class specializes in weaving ice magic into swordsmanship. It can freeze and shatter even the greatest foes.

////

"Interesting." I thought for a moment and then chose the class. It sounded too good to be truth.

////

Class Frozen Blade accepted.

Received new skill Enhanced agility

Received new skill Enhanced magic

Received new skill Creeping frost

Received new class benefit: any points spent on the agility or magic has double the effect.

////

"Hmm did you received any new skills or class benefits outside of the enrage?"

"Yes, any points I invest in strength are doubled. Good think I didn't used up my points."

"I got the same for magic and agility."

"What class did you got?" she asked.

"Frozen blade."

'Sounds interesting."

As I was going to invest my points, I noticed one thing. That now my level was one of one hundred, meaning I will have to level up to one hundred for next class change.

"What is the max level of you class?" I asked

"50. Why?"

"So, that depends on the rarity. I have 100."

"What rarity of the class did you get?"

"It had prismatic border."

"Nice."

I invested my 15 points as usual. 10 from the level ups up to level ten and I had enough experience to jump directly to level one of the next classes so I got 5 more. My magic and agility after this became 38 on top of that I got +15 bonus from enhanced magic and agility so with that I was at 53 without +5 from my sword, and constitution was on 21.

Once I was done, I checked the last skill I got. Creeping frost. It was passive skill that whenever I hit somebody with my sword left stack of creeping frost debuff slowly freezing the body part. Once fully frozen it would become very brittle and shatter with the smallest strain.

  As for last two treasure chests I decided to keep them for Jess once we meet. I will gear her up so she can be much safer.

Once we were done that with all that we sat for few minutes and after that we headed towards the bar. Stopping on the way at sport's clothing store where we grabbed new clothes and Karla grabbed backpack and sleeping utensils for both of us and even Jess.

I thanked her for what she did and we headed straight towards our destination. We met some ghouls on the way but there were no big packs so we had no issues. Once we came close enough to see the bar it was hard for me to contain myself. I had a lot of very conflicting feelings right about now. I felt everything from giant happiness to whole lot of anxiousness when I was about step towards the last stretch and reach the bar, I saw that Karla went pale for a moment as she saw the bar and very carefully asked something.

"Could you please tell me the name of your friend once again?"

"Jessica Hamilton, most people call her Jess. Why are you asking?"

She became even paler and she spoke. "It's nothing. Would you mind too much if I waited for you here. If you decide to stay just wave at me, I will come inside."

I looked at how pale and uncomfortable she looked so I didn't question her any further. "Fine, I will wave at you if I decide to stay. I will leave Sheela with you just in case of issues. OK?"

"Thank, you."

I was quite weirded out by her behavior but since I was so close to place where Jess should be I just ignored it for a moment and started to walk towards the bar.

Once I reached about a meter away from the door, I heard a voice.

"That's enough. What brings you here?"
