Chapter 31: Exes are Exes for a Reason

(Anthony’s POV)

I hold Bethany close to me, cradling her soft face in my hands. I wish I could take away the pain I cause her. In this business, though, I know she needs thicker skin. She needs to be able to deal with *ssholes and idiots without letting it affect her.

I press my lips against her once more and hear a woman clear her voice from behind. Glancing up, my blood runs cold, and irritation fills the space where love had been moments before.

“Not right now. Go away.” I demand, trapping Bethany against me so she can’t see who has caused my upset.

A familiar look of amusement crosses the woman’s face. “That’s not a very warm welcome from my boyfriend.”

This b*tch is determined to give me a headache. “Michelle. You are not my girlfriend and have never been. You know this. That was one night, and we were both very drunk. And as far as I remember you forced yourself on me. If anything, I should be kicking you out right now.” I state.
