Chapter 26: Sneaking Suspicions

(Beth's POV)

Two more weeks go by without so much as a blink. I find it rather easy to just enjoy the simple life and relax. I think it could be easy for me to just fall into a pattern like this. Griffin tells me often that I’m going to abuse my privileges and act like a queen. Every time he says it, he laughs hard. In many ways, he’s right. It is funny.

I’d just finished packing my belongings when Anthony walks in the room. “We are going to New York City. I think it is time to return to my home roots. We can stay there and focus a bit more on work and our relationship.” He says with a smile, coming over to hold me close.

“Sounds wonderful to me,” I reply, moving to wrap my arms around him. It will be nice to get back into the swing of things. But how is this going to go? I look up at Anthony. “Am I still your assistant?”

He just stares at me for a moment in confusion. After a moment, he cards his fingers through my hair. “Yes? Why wouldn’t you be baby?”
