¬ HILN

"I'm so sorry. Really sorry," I whispered as I patted down Didi, her tiny whines pulling at my heart.

I left her in her corner and her complaints stopped.

Why was I even doing this? In a bid to relax, I was troubling her instead.

I could no longer sleep and I went through the books instead, running through characters I could not read or understand. The short argument I was trying to forget returned with persistence and I sighed, dejected.

This was distressing.

He was beginning to make me feel pity for him. Why was he even tearing himself up inside? I didn't want to remember what happened then. Though I guess I would have been a little offended if he had brushed off what he had done so easily.

I stood at the window and wallowed in my thoughts as I stared in the direction of the temple. The priestesses met me there in the morning and Didi came to life as some of them approached her.
