On a rock by the river

Godwin is missing? What is going on here? This is just so overwhelming. After the classes, I planned to go meet Lijah and tell him about this. Each and every student had a confused look on their face. Some of them even watched me throughout the classes. I felt like trapped in a cage where you can't breathe. After the classes, I ran to the cycle to get out of the school. I stood near the cycle to hook my bag on to the back seat.

" Amanda, headmaster wants to see you in his office."

A girl spoke to me from the corridor. I nodded my head and took my way to the office.

I knew the reason behind he wanting to see me. Somebody must have mentioned about the party chaos. I stood near the door and I saw him nodding his head from up to down, indicating to get in.

" Amanda, how are you doing?" He asked as he pointed his palm towards the seat.

I sat on the chair opposite to his and replied,

" Doing fine, sir."

He took a pause and continued,

" You heard about Godwin right?"

I nodded my head as he observed me.

" Students told me about the party. So according to our current circumstance, I can doubt nobody but Lijah. But still Godwin may have gone out partying or 'you know' 18 year old crazy kids who just feels to go away from home and wander. Whatever is it, his parents are so overprotective. Anyways, I heard that you and Lijah are 'close', so is there anything you want to tell me?"

" No sir, that was a normal fight between classmates. It has nothing to do with him going missing."

" Ok Amanda, I believe you. But, cops may not. They might come question you. So, stick to what you just told me. I don't want our school to get a black mark because of this." He said as he took his specs away and massaged his head.

" Sure sir." I spoke.

" Ok then get going."

I stood up from the chair and walked out. If cops may question me then surely they will question Lijah too. I rode the cycle as fast as I could to his house.

Aunt and Leah were not home. I rushed up to his room. Thank God it was not locked this time.

He was sitting on his chair, writing something in his diary. Every time I see him, I realize how much I love him.

" Li." I called out his name, making him turn immediately.

He was shocked to see me. But he was clearly trying hard to cover it and play cool.

" Godwin is missing." I came straight to the point.

" Oh, you must be really sad." He replied with a straight face.

" Seriously Lijah! Do you really think I like him? Ugh! Never mind. I just came to ask if you know anything about it." If he decides to play cool then I am going to act extra cool. No more crying for him.

" What is it with you? First you sleep with a guy when you already had a boyfriend and then that guy goes missing and you blame that on your boyfriend, oh I meant, ' ex boyfriend." He said with his eyes almost popping out. It seemed like a line which he has been telling to himself for long.

It was enough of me playing cool. I walked closer to him and stood next to him. I could see his eyes wanting me so badly. He just holds it back.

" Li, I don't even remember what happened last night. I am so sorry that I didn't listen to you and went to the party. Do you really think that I could unlove you? I know what I did was wrong but we don't have to end this. Don't you think you can give me a second chance?" I spoke with my eyes wet. He slowly stood up from his chair. I looked into the paper which he was writing and saw a drawing to my surprise. The drawing was of a girl standing on a rock by a river.
