Chapter 142

They left together through the front door and walked slowly to the left until they reached a black Yamaha YZF-R3.

She didn't say anything when Dio bought it because he still didn't have a driver's license.

Steve Trevor didn't like this violation of the law, but his argument fell apart when he raised the question.

'Why could Robin drive a tank or aircraft through the city of Gotham but not me?'

So, Dio bought this second-hand bike without documents because he couldn't afford to buy a new one.

Dio grabbed his helmet and sat on the bike while inserting the key into the ignition.

"Until next week."

Dio said to Vanessa, who stopped on the side.

Vanessa hugged him, and Dio did the same.

"Until next week, Dio."

Vanessa said happily, then kissed him on the cheek.

Dio put on his black helmet, started the bike, lifted his foot, and accelerated slowly towards the street.

He looked in the mirror and saw Vanessa waving to him.

Dio could teleport or fly anywhere in the city, but riding a motorcycle at high speed through the traffic has a certain unique sensation.

Dio was also told that flying around the world gets a lot of attention.

Since the battle in Gotham, he has gone from being Wonder Woman's sidekick to a full-fledged hero.

So, Dio used the motorcycle or car for his mundane tasks.

After ten minutes, Dio turned left into a parking lot, inserted his card into the machine to get his pass, and parked on the top floor.

This was where Dio kept his motorcycle.

This parking lot didn't have cameras, which made it perfect for landing after a flight and leaving with his bike.

Dio put his helmet on top of it and took out the key to keep it in his pocket. Then, Dio walked to the stairs leading to the roof.

There were no cars here.

Who would use a parking lot to leave their vehicles in the sun or rain?

Dio was sure that no one was watching him on the roof by himself.

After a year of keeping all of his senses open, he finally learned how to fully control them and shut out all but the most important sounds.

According to Diana, Superman did this when he was twenty, but he has stronger senses than both of them.

A thin layer of shadows enveloped his body, and his feet left the ground while he slowly gained height and speed.

Dio changed his original flight spell, making it smoother and increasing the speed.

The experience of long flights from one continent to another also enhanced his ability.

Now, Dio could do something he had always wanted to do since he first flew.

"BOOOOM!"

Dio easily broke the sound barrier and went through the troposphere as he flew higher and faster.

Dio summoned his armor to cover his body before going further. He didn't want his simple shirt and jeans to freeze due to the low temperature.

Dio also took off the small ring from his finger, an improved version of the device that slightly changes the color of his skin and hair.

It disappears when held in his hand by gray ectoplasm.

He hid the ring, and his skin, eyes, and hair returned to their original colors.

There haven't been many changes in his appearance, except that the whiteness of his hair had become stronger and his eyes darker.

After that, Dio passed through the exosphere, and finally, the infinite darkness of space welcomed him.

Dio spun his body to face the planet, which had become a small, beautiful, shining blue ball in the cold space.

Dio has fallen in love with staying in this position since he first accomplished it.

It's a unique and addictive feeling to have such a view and to see it only with his own power.

Unfortunately, Dio hadn't reached the speed for interstellar flights yet. The farthest he had gotten so far was the moon.

It's not as empty up here as Dio thought.

There are some satellites and space stations from various nations, and Dio even confirmed that the League also had its own space station.

Dio avoided it for fear of provoking a defense or being reprimanded by Batman, who gave him a long look when they met.

A message not to open my mouth about what he saw.

It's a pity that demigods couldn't breathe in space, but they could hold their breath for a very long time.

Dio's record was seven hours, but that's not very helpful in a fight, so he was working on a spell to help him correct this flaw.

Dio could ask Robin for help if he couldn't do it himself. He could clearly see the city he needed to go to from this height.

He didn't want to be late or wait, so he dove in with everything and entered Earth's atmosphere like a flaming comet.

The temperature didn't bother him.

Unfortunately, Dio had to slow down to avoid destroying the city below.

Starling City, a bustling city north of California.

The city where Speedy and Green Arrow live is pretty difficult.

It's full of powerful villains and interesting legends, like Wildcat, who was one of the first members of the Justice Society of America.

Diana told Dio a lot about him and about his stories from World War II.

Dio had always wanted to visit him; the guy was one of the best martial artists in the world.

He trained many other heroes after retiring, including Superman.

However, Dio won't make that visit today, and his destination was different, and he had a scheduled appointment.

I turned left and entered The Glades, the "tough zone" of the city.

When Speedy told him about it and Dio saw it in person, he couldn't help but mock him.

This so-called "tough zone" is nothing like Gotham.

Seriously, what kind of dangerous area didn't have at least ten deaths per week?

Dio turned left again and faced a rather ordinary building.

The League owned the whole building and used it as a safe place to hide.

They have several of these scattered worldwide, and this one only started being used for something else recently.

Before entering, Dio checked the time with a simple common spell, and he was satisfied that he was ten minutes early.

Dio's armor disappeared. He didn't mind being seen wearing civilian clothes without the device, and there was no way to recognize him.

Dio entered through the open window on the top floor.

Dio erased his presence by covering his body with shadows before stepping on the ground.

Dio floated a few inches above the floor to the first door.

He raised his arm to knock.

"Come in, Kírix!"

She said it from inside.

"Hmmm!"

Dio couldn't help but show a bit of annoyance before putting his feet on the ground and turning the doorknob to open the door.

This room was made just for this, so it's very nice.

It has pretty rugs and curtains, soft lighting, a few paintings, and two very comfortable armchairs facing each other in the middle of the room.

Still a bit grumpy, Dio sat down in the empty chair.

"How did you know this time? Did you happen to smell me?"

Dio asked the woman sitting with crossed legs in front of him.

"Instinct."

She responded with a happy smile.

"Seriously?"

Dio played this game sometimes. It started out of nowhere, but after the first event, he tried to catch this woman by surprise but failed.

There was even one time when he teleported into the room behind her.

Dio was greeted with a kick to the face as soon as he appeared in the room.

Dio asked later how she had discovered him, and she said he had made too much noise walking down the corridor.

He could accept that, but now she told him she found him using only instinct, without him making any mistakes.

It's a bit irritating.

They're talking about Black Canary here, so it made sense that her instincts were that sharp.

Like all the other heroines in this world, Black Canary is very pretty, and the suit makes her look even better.

She was dressed for work in a simple black coat and a black leather corset that only covered her waist, with her breasts very visible.

A black choker was around her neck, and torn fishnet tights were tied to her black boots.

She had eyes as blue as the sky and red lipstick, and with her long hair as golden as gold, she almost made him drool the first time they met.

This woman was a meta-human.

She's more deadly than Green Arrow with her master-level fighting skills and a scream that could put Superman through some serious trouble.

She also had a heck of a legacy, which was being the daughter of the first Black Canary and another member of the Justice Society of America.

Wildcat also trained her because of this.

"Shall we begin?"

Black Canary asked with a smile.

"Of course."

Dio said this in his relaxed position in the chair.
