Dio can't help but pick up his sword and put it on his lap as he thinks about the lives it will absorb in the future.
"What are you going to do with him?"
Raven asked while looking at his blade.
"I don't know, and I still don't understand the purpose of my sword."
Dio can sacrifice the soul on his sword to achieve great magic feats or create an immortal and loyal soul.
The possibilities are endless when using a soul as an ingredient when it is incomplete.
But Dio wouldn't forgive himself if he used a soul for something like that.
"I'll take this object to the underworld and release it. Maybe this enchantment was meant to bring lost souls to their rightful place."
Ravena nodded in acceptance.
"And the team, how are they feeling about this?"
Dio gathered the courage to ask; the team's opinion is what weighs most on his mind now.
Raven usually respects people's privacy and doesn't share what others are going through, but she makes an exception for him.
"Roy doesn't care much. Koriand'r and Kaldur were trained by soldiers, so they understood the situation very well. Dick didn't approve of your action, but he understood that it was necessary to save your life after seeing the pictures; now, he is blaming himself for putting you in that situation. The only person who doesn't know what you did is Wally, but he knows deep down that it was inevitable."
"And you, what is your opinion?"
Dio asked one of the people who was most important to him.
"I have no right to judge you, not after everything I've done."
Raven responded with clear sadness in her voice.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"
Ravena spent most of her free time meditating to have complete control over her emotions, so that's what she did after answering him.
"I always wanted to ask something; what do these words mean?"
Dio's question seems to have caught her by surprise by the small movement of her body.
Dio knew that the words she always said were not spells, more like mantras, but until now, he had never understood their meaning.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos is the center of my emotions, words that guide me to who I am and what I aspire to be."
"You summed up your existence in just three words?"
...
They were awake until dark.
Raven isn't fully human and doesn't like to show it, but her body is much stronger than that of a normal human.
She can go weeks without sleep and stay at the peak of her strength.
They talked while everyone else slept.
The conversation wasn't very interesting as she didn't talk much, but Dio could tell she was trying hard to talk to him.
She became more interested in him when they talked about magic, especially when he told her how he would use his ability to change ectoplasm to change her spell on the soul-self.
At four in the afternoon, everyone woke up, rested, and gathered at the kitchen table for lunch; there was nothing healthy except the lettuce in the hamburgers.
"I just received an update from Batman. The subordinate of Johnny the Gun was destroyed after attacking the neighborhood where they keep their base. It seems that another vampire hunter helped Batman during the fight."
Robin informed.
"Do we have another ally?"
Kaldur asked.
A vampire hunter is the best person to deal with a vampire uprising.
"No, the hunter in question is not very stable."
"What did the vampire hunter do?"
Wally asked curiously, with two slices of pizza in each hand.
"He thinks that Batman and our group are all vampires and that the enemies who attacked us are freedom fighters wanting to destroy the monsters."
"So, he's crazy."
"Yes, Wally, he's crazy, but a powerful crazy with superhuman abilities."
"Alright! Are there any new orders, or are we just going to stay here waiting?"
Roy was getting impatient with the wait.
"No action orders have been given, but let's change locations. This apartment technically hasn't been compromised, but it's better to do so to avoid risks."
"Where are we going?"
Dio asked.
"To another safe house not far from here."
They moved easily because they didn't have much.
They drove to a beautiful lawn on the outskirts of Gotham and landed their car at a small old wooden house.
After looking inside, he found that the house was actually very comfortable and full of high-tech devices.
There was even a training area in the forest behind the property.
That's where Dio was headed after putting his things in the boys' room, across from the girls' room.
"Let's train!"
Koriand'r shouted and tossed a metal staff at him.
In the training area, Dio saw her waiting for him.
"Where did you find this?"
Dio asked her while picking up the staff.
"From Robin's belt, it seems to have many things on it."
"You have no idea,"
Dio said it with a smile.
A well-maintained grassy square in the middle of the forest with trees that are more than ten meters tall surrounds the training area.
This is a great spot for training.
"Here I go!"
Koriand'r said and slid on the ground with the staff raised.
Dio came here to be alone again, but training lifted his spirits slightly.
Koriand'r 's attack begins as always, fast and aggressive, but never without skill.
Dio defended the first three hits until he saw an opening and tried to hit her shoulder.
Koriand'r easily dodged to the left and struck his leg with the staff while knocking him to the ground.
It's been done many times, but this training aims to knock the opponent down, so the fight always stops when one of them falls to the ground.
Dio was surprised when he saw the staff approaching his throat.
"BOOM!"
The ground exploded when she hit it after he moved out of the way of the hit by rolling to the left and getting up right away.
"What was that!?"
Dio asked, a bit irritated.
She ignored him and flew towards him while holding the staff with both hands above her head.
Dio lifted his staff, and the two clashed.
"BOOMM!"
Dio was pushed until his back hit the tree behind him.
"Starfire, what in the name of the gods are you doing?"
Dio asked again, this time with a bit less patience.
Koriand'r didn't answer and continued pushing her staff with a serious face.
"Boom!"
The tree behind him began to break.
"If you want it that way, so be it!"
Dio's patience disappeared.
Dio pushed her and leaned his body to the left, which made her lose balance. He took advantage of this to wrest the staff from her hand.
She tried to regain her balance, but he hit her body with his shoulder and caused her to fall to the ground and roll.
When she got to her knees, Dio had already let the two metal staffs slide through his hands while holding them like a bat.
Dio struck her face with all his strength and aimed for her eyes.
"BOOM!"
The staff broke, and she closed her eyes from the impact. He delivered an upward punch to her face.
"BLAMMMMMMMMM!"
Koriand'r flew like a rocket and destroyed the tree to their left.
It was a strong impact, but nothing she couldn't handle. Dio knew her limits very well, as she knows Dio's.
This understanding came from many, many hours of training.
As confirmation of this, Dio saw her coming back with the intention of hitting him with her body.
Dio looked at the two pieces of the staff in his hand and threw them like knives in her direction.
Koriand'r easily dodged by spinning her body in the air and hitting him head-on.
"BOOOOM!"
Dio's body is dragged across the ground while destroying the grass and raising a lot of dirt in the process.
When she stopped, she felt her punch on his face; she wasn't holding back.
She hits him again while sitting on top of him, but the third time, he teleported behind her and tried to choke her.
Koriand'r jumped while hitting his chin before he could hold her perfectly.
When Dio backed away, she jumped, spun her body in the air, and landed a kick on his face.
Dio wiped the blood from his lips and spit the blood in his mouth as he got up from the ground.
Koriand'r lifted both her hands in front of him and her long red hair, reaching to her waist, burned while her hands were coated in bright yellow energy.
