"He's right; we've been working on the old mission for over two days."
Kaldur'ahm agreed.
"What's the target?"
"Not a target, Speedy; we're just going to talk and gather some information."
Robin explained patiently.
"She's not a vampire?"
Roy asked as if that were reason enough to shoot an arrow into Emily's chest.
"And my boss isn't either. I won't allow any aggression against her!"
Koriand'r warning came while her eyes were glowing with energy.
"Robin and I talked while we were waiting, and we thought it would be best to go with a small group to avoid giving the wrong impression."
Dio said, picked up his stone from the table, and stored it again with his conjuration.
"I agree. Who will be in this group?"
Kaldur'ahm asked.
"Kírix and Starfire already know her, so they'll go. The third will be Raven; she can get them out of there with her teleportation if something goes wrong, and she'll also know if she lied."
Robin decided.
"And the rest of us? Are we going to stay here waiting?"
"Speedy, you and the rest of us will stay outside to observe the situation and listen through the communicator."
Roy wasn't happy with that, but he followed Robin.
After Kid Flash cleaned up the mess on their table as fast as he could, they all stood up with Raven in front of them.
"Ready?"
Raven asked.
"Why can't we go by car?"
Wally asked. He doesn't like being teleported much.
"Because it wasn't made to be discreet. Now, be quiet, Raven, please."
Robin certainly has a way with words.
Dio could feel magical energy coming from her since no one else was talking. There was also a glowing black shadow on the ground where they were standing.
Then, a huge crow constructed from the same energy manifests behind her with its long wings spread open, which then closed while covering them.
The feeling of teleportation was a lot like when Dio used his shadow movement, and when the crow's wings opened a second later, Dio saw that the view had changed in front of him.
They are now on the roof of a multi-story building facing a busy street.
Raven's teleportation might resemble Dio's, but it's undoubtedly much better since she doesn't expend much energy and can take several people at once.
Raven's teleportation is like a soft flap of wings that takes her anywhere, while Dio's is like running from one place to another while time stops and then forgetting about it when reaching the destination.
She's not wrong, as that's how Dio felt after using it multiple times.
"This is it?"
Kid Flash asked.
"Right there."
Starfire replied and pointed to the two-story building in front of them.
At the top of it, a bright red logo reads "LOOKER."
"I've already sent a message to the boss; she's waiting for us."
"Then let's go."
Dio said while floating slowly towards the top floor of LOOKER.
Raven and Starfire also followed him.
"Let's split up."
Robin said behind him to prepare for any trouble.
The window on the top floor is open, and the hallway inside is illuminated.
They enter through it and walk calmly on the blood-colored and tacky carpet.
At the end of the corridor is a double white door.
"Knock, knock!"
Dio knocked on the door gently.
"Come in!"
Emily responded from inside the room.
Dio opened the door and walked into Emily's office.
Emily was sitting with her head down and looking at her desk, which was full of papers and pictures of women.
The office is quite simple.
There is a desk with two chairs in front of it, a sofa with a glass center on the other side of the room, and several pictures on the walls, each with a different model from LOOKER.
"It's been a while, little demigod."
Emily greeted him and raised her face.
Emily remained as beautiful and sexy as Dio remembered, with her long red hair and pale skin, wearing a white dress with a nice neckline.
"It's been a while, Miss Emily. How is Bogrol?"
Dio asked out of politeness.
"You know how demons are; he'll keep grumbling that you stole from him for months."
Emily replied with a smile.
Dio then turned to Raven next to him and said.
"Starfire, you already know, and this is another member of my team, Raven."
Dio introduced her.
Emily looked at her, and interest took over her face. She lifted her face and sniffed the air a few times.
"You have a strong scent, just like the demigod."
Emily said.
"And is that bad?"
Raven asked while looking at Koriand'r, who bent down to smell her friend while trying to understand the scent mentioned.
"Let's say that for me, you two are like two walking Thanksgiving feasts."
That's incredible news for someone who will literally have to deal with vampires.
"Introductions were done, and as it's almost dawn, what do you want to ask me?"
Emily got straight to the point.
"I thought vampires don't die when exposed to the sun."
Raven asked.
"It's not like in the movies; we don't burn or anything like that, but the sun makes us very weak, so much so that a normal adult wouldn't have any trouble killing us. I try to avoid working when I'm weak."
"We want to talk about the warning you gave earlier about vampire attacks happening."
Dio said.
"Sure, but before that,"
Emily threw a black notebook to Starfire, who caught it.
"Darling, could you choose the clothes for your next photoshoot? The tailors have to make the changes to keep your assets under control."
Emily joked while looking at Koriand'r's chest.
Koriand'r looked at Dio to asked for permission since they're still on a mission.
Dio nodded to her, and she happily flew to a couch on the side of the room.
When their attention turned back to Emily, she put both hands on the table and answered, "No attacks, recruitment."
"Recruitment?"
"Yes, as I mentioned earlier, the big bosses are moving, but I was mistaken about that; only one of the bosses is moving; the other is on the fence."
"And who are these big bosses, Dracula?"
Dio asked.
"Hahhaha!"
Emily laughed.
Dio won't lie and say that Dracula is not the only name that comes to his mind when talking about vampire leaders.
"No, it's not Dracula. He's definitely one of the most powerful of our kind, but far from being the oldest and most powerful."
"Then who is it?"
"Andrew Bennett and his lover, Mary."
"The Queen of Blood?"
Raven asked.
"That's her."
Emily confirmed.
This confirms a lot for the group and some for Dio.
In Dio's memories from his past life, he vaguely remembered a saga similar to this in the comics.
However, he can't think of anything useful for them right now because he only briefly read the dialogue and focused on the exciting vampire fights in those comics.
"Wait, where are my manners? Please, have a seat; would you like something to drink?"
"No, thank you."
They both declined and sat in the chairs in front of her.
"Mind if I drink?"
Emily asked.
"No."
Emily then opened a drawer in her desk, took out a glass and then a glass flask full of red liquid, and placed it in front of the table.
Emily removed the glass lid from the flask and tilted it into the glass.
The slightly thick liquid falls into the glass, which leaves a metallic smell in the air—blood.
"Do you know that a small part of vampires can keep their hunger under control by feeding on blood bags or animals like me?"
Emily asked while she drank from her glass; her lips were red, which made her look even more beautiful and dangerous.
"Yes, we know."
Dio responded.
Vampires don't have a problem with thirst because blood bags and animal blood can satisfy their thirst.
Their problem is the frightening desire to hunt their prey alive.
"What you don't know is that Andrew Bennett was the first of his kind; he even hunts all the crazies of our kind."
"I don't understand, then why is a man like him on the fence?"
Raven asked.
"Because he'll have to fight against his lover this time."
Dio responded for Emily.
"Correct."
Emily confirmed.
"But what is the Queen's goal?"
Dio asked.
"She wants to step out of the shadows and take her rightful place as the absolute leader of the planet."
"It's a typical supervillain plan, then, world domination."
Dio laughed in amusement.
"It's not so simple. Remember that with each human turned, she gains an almost immortal soldier entirely loyal to her."
"Can newly turned vampires really be that loyal?"
Raven asked.
"There's a connection between the one turned and the one who turned them—something so strong that they immediately embrace her ideas and plans."
This means that each turned person immediately becomes a loyal and fanatical servant doing everything they can to fulfill their leader's orders.
In addition, vampires have terrifying abilities that will make Mary's army the strongest on Earth.
"Kirix, ask if she knows any of their abilities."
Robin asked through his communicator.
"Emily, how powerful are these two, and why are they like this?"
Dio asked.
"We're talking about vampires over four hundred years old, so I can't say how powerful they are. I just know that even if twenty normal vampires attacked him, they would die against Andrew Bennett. According to legend, the first of our kind turned Andrew, and Mary also shares his power.
The older a vampire, the more powerful they are, and this can increase significantly depending on who turns them.
The benefits of being turned by the first are huge when compared with ordinary vampires.
"Do they share the same weaknesses?"
Dio asked.
"The sun works, but it won't kill them even if you stick something in their hearts. The only way I can think of is by beheading them."
"Thank you for the information, Miss Emily. Is there anything else you can share?"
Dio asked.
"There's one more thing. A few years ago, the Queen of Blood was part of a very powerful vampire organization. They called themselves the Cult of the Red Moon Blood. They have only one mission, and that is to kill vampire hunters."
