104 Chapter 103

The Tower doesn't have all of the League's information, but they do have reports on all the villains they've met, and some of them have a high threat level.

Lady Shiva is one of them. She once ripped a man's heart out of his chest with just her hand, even though she didn't have any special powers.

Robin wanted to warn him about that one wrong move, and she'd kill them.

"My orders are to kill Robin. You can leave."

Lady Shiva said.

"Not going to happen."

Dio replied while putting his shield in front of his body and raising his sword.

Lady Shiva hit the nerves in his leg; that would make a normal person much slower.

It is already back to average, thanks to his regeneration.

"Death it is then."

"She talks a lot for a simple assassin."

Robin jokes to try to alter her mood by attacking her pride. Usually, that works with someone ordinary, but she's not ordinary.

"Anyone can take a life, kid. I am the true master of deadly arts!"

"Maneuver number 07!"

Dio was about to attack again, but he was stopped when she threw her military knife at him and forced him to raise his shield.

When the knife hit his shield, Dio lowered it because it was enough time for her to hit Robin in the face with a kick and grab the military knife that had hit his shield.

Dio lunged forward and delivered a sweeping blow to aim for her body. Dio didn't hold back in this move; he wanted to cut her in half.

However, Shiva jumped and passed over his blade with her entire body while landing on her feet behind him and plunged her military knife into Dio's ankle.

Dio bit his lips to stop screaming in pain and not lose concentration.

The attack was not over, and when she pulled the blade from his leg, Dio almost slipped on the floor.

With the tilt of his body backward, she stood up while holding the knife with both hands to aim at Dio's spine.

Before using teleportation to escape this situation, Robin appeared behind her and tried to hit her head with an iron bar he must have removed from somewhere nearby.

Lady Shiva seems to have senses like Spider-Man; she once again abandoned her move to roll to the left to avoid.

"That was maneuver 7."

Dio told Robin while sweating from fear over what almost happened.

After being with the team for a while, Robin started doing exercises with his team, and he came up with several moves that could be used immediately on the battlefield.

The number itself is enough to get them to action.

Maneuver 7 is quite simple: one distracts while the other finishes. However, it appeared that distracting Lady Shiva was an impossible task.

"I'm all ears if you have any ideas."

Dio didn't give details.

Shiva was kind enough not to attack them while we talked, perhaps taking this time to think about how to kill them more easily.

Lady Shiva managed to escape, but his sword also cut lightly across her face while drawing a few drops of blood.

Dio teleported to Robin's side as he was afraid of a counterattack.

"Success!"

Dio shouted excitedly.

"You barely scratched her."

"Didn't anyone ever tell you never to let a magician with curses get your blood!"

Dio said while lifting his sword, where Shiva's red blood was falling down the blade.

"You better start running, Lady Shiva; the dead are very vengeful!"

Dio's previous attack left her quite surprised, which gave him time to wipe the blood from his sword with his finger and put it in his mouth.

Dio spoke with a strong metal taste in his mouth.

The palms of his hands glow strongly in gray and burn his hands over the scars he already has.

Lady Shiva stood, ready to fight, and waited for him to move.

She has traveled the world and killed various targets of different types, so this is not her first time dealing with a magician or curses, which is a disadvantage for him.

It looks like zombies are coming out of the ground as ghosts covered in pure gray energy rise up.

They are a mixed group of men and women of different ethnicities and ages, dressed in simple clothes and expensive suits.

Lady Shiva is surrounded by more than twenty ghosts when they all rise.

"What will it feel like to be hunted by those who died by your hands?"

Dio asked her and raised his fists, ready for the fight.

Dio's hand was enveloped by ectoplasm, and Dio signaled to attack with it.

The ghosts have no intelligence and attack like mad while jumping in her direction.

Unfortunately, Lady Shiva chose to cross a building wall on her side to hide inside it.

However, the ghosts pass through the wall and continue their attack while moving away from Dio and Robin.

Robin passed by Dio and tried to follow them, but he stopped him.

"What are you doing? We have to go, and we can defeat her together now."

Robin said with irritation by his interruption.

"Do you think that together with the ghosts, the two of us can deal with her?"

Dio asked.

"Don't you!?"

Dio laughed, and after checking the position of the ghosts with a thought, he knew they were far enough away to tell the truth.

"It's just shadows and mirrors, none of which can really hurt her."

Robin looked at him clearly surprised.

"But... but..."

"If I could summon a zombie army, do you think I wouldn't have done that a long time ago?"

This curse is meant to torment the victim, but for it to work perfectly, Dio has to mark the target with a blood pentagram.

This required Dio to use ectoplasm and the spell to summon the souls of her victims. However, the limit was only twenty, and they had no way to physically harm her.

"Shadows and mirrors, my friend; that's what magicians are."

"BATMAN!"

The shout from Catwoman makes them look to the other side of the hole, where Batman is on the ground near the edge with Ra's standing over him with his sword raised.

"CATCH!"

Dio shouted to him as he threw his shield like a bowling ball.

Batman caught the shield and put it in front of his body just before the blade touched down to block him.

He raised his leg and kicked Ra's to push him away and then stood up, putting the shield on his arm.

Ra's was quick, and the curved blade of the sword was perfect for cutting and piercing.

With his skills, Batman is being cut in their duel, but his shield balances things.

They stare at each other for a few seconds until they move at the same time, and sparks fly from Dio's shield with the fight between the two weapons.

Ra's managed to wedge his sword between the black spikes on Batman's glove while trapping it, and then he hit the extended sword with the shield to break it.

Batman jumped and delivered a high kick to Ra's left temple.

Ra's lost his balance and fell into the hole while rolling down.

"Thud!"

Batman grabbed his weapon and shot a grappling hook that wrapped around Ra's arm to stop his fall midway.

"You've lost; now surrender."

Batman said while pulling the cable to try to bring Ra's up.

"The Demon's Head does not surrender, Detective."

Ra's cut the cable with his sword and fell into the Lazarus Pit.

There was silence for a moment until the city woke up.

The entire underground city began to shake immediately, a direct warning for them to leave immediately.

"We have to go now!"

Dio shouted to Robin, who nodded.

"And them?"

Robin asked.

"We're going together."

Dio grabbed his arm and jumped with all his strength to cross the hole. He landed next to Batman, who was staring down at the pit.

"Catwoman!"

Dio called for her.

The assassins chose to retreat after seeing their master fall into the pit, so there was no resistance for her to join them.

"This cat has to find a way out."

Catwoman said.

"Stay close to me!"

Dio shouted to everyone.

The tremors increased.

Dio knelt and placed his hand on the ground to summon the shadows, which emerged and enveloped all of them in a sphere of darkness.
