80 Chapter 80: Preparation

"Four seconds."

The atmosphere in the White House was frozen, everyone's eyes filled with horror.

The communications officer received the frontline report from General Adolf, and it was transmitted back through surveillance. A blue vortex had completely torn apart a thirty-thousand-strong army equipped with the most advanced weaponry.

It was a complete annihilation, shredding them into molecules and atoms.

There wasn't a trace of iron or flesh left on the scene. This scene left everyone in the White House stupefied.

This battle truly exemplified the phrase "disappeared without a trace."

The President sat at his desk, and although he knew his decision had been right, he hadn't anticipated that his own country, armed with the most advanced weapons and a thirty-thousand-strong army equipped with cutting-edge firepower, would vanish like this.

Everything had disappeared too quickly, taking them entirely off guard.

Harold, who had initially been resolute and determined to resist, now had trembling and bewildered eyes.

"The national scientific team's analysis indicates that the thirty-thousand-strong army and the tank equipment were torn apart and obliterated by electromagnetic forces. He has the ability to manipulate electromagnetic force to tear apart any atomic structure," the communications officer relayed the information as it came in.

The high-ranking officials in the White House exchanged bewildered glances. They had already been contemplating overthrowing the President due to the revelation that the Earth's leadership was being manipulated by an external force.

Now, learning that the creator of the Seven Golden Barrier could easily manipulate electromagnetic forces and obliterate thirty-thousand troops in four seconds, they suddenly felt that perhaps the President had been right. Preparing underground cities to survive the impending ice age might be the correct course of action.

The application of electromagnetic forces was clearly not limited to tearing apart thirty-thousand soldiers.

Perhaps humanity needed a different survival strategy, as only by surviving could civilization continue.

Suddenly, they no longer wanted to overthrow the President. All of this required someone to take responsibility, to bear the blame.

"The decision to dig underground cities by the President..." someone hesitated and looked around, seeking consensus.

"It can be implemented, but American military might is not for show. We must demonstrate our strength. Humans are not to be trifled with," Harold, who understood everything and had cooperated with the Transformers, said resolutely.

Humanity must not become timid just because they saw their enemy control electromagnetic forces. They could dig underground cities for preservation, but they should not lose the courage to resist.

The high-ranking officials quickly reached a decision. The excavation of underground cities began under the National Security Emergency Act without the need for a parliamentary vote. Simultaneously, they would reach out to Earth's nations to jointly organize scientists to research solutions regarding the Seven Golden Barrier.

"Humanity doesn't have much time left. According to the predictions of the national scientific team, the Golden Barrier will be complete in a month at most. At that time, there will be no way to stop it from absorbing Earth's sunlight, plunging the planet into an ice age," Harold said as the representative of humanity.

After making these decisions, the national response was swift.

"Harold, this data from the Moon might be able to provide the Transformers with an additional asset to fight on Earth's front lines," the President said, handing Harold a document from 1961 regarding human deep-space probes detecting a crashed alien spacecraft on the Moon.

Harold quickly reviewed the document, learning about the reason behind the Apollo lunar program, which was to search for a spaceship left by the Transformers.

With a rough understanding of everything, Harold left the White House to contact Optimus Prime, seeking to harness all available forces.

The following day, Harold assumed control of a group of military bases and facilities spanning the Hawaiian Islands, Midway Island, Johnston Atoll, and Wake Island. A Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, the USS Ronald Reagan, was stationed in the Pacific Ocean, ready for action.

Optimus Prime arrived at the Hawaiian base and reached a deep cooperation agreement with Harold on behalf of humanity. Together, they would address the Earth's crisis. With the understanding that the Transformers would share Earth, they agreed to collaborate in protecting the planet.

Informed and provided with rockets by Harold, the Autobots were modified for space travel and sent to the Moon to search for their former leader, Sentinel Prime.

"He was my teacher, the former leader of the Autobots. When Cybertron faced destruction, he sought a way out, carrying his research on space bridge pillars and venturing into the cosmos for survival. We failed to protect him, and he was attacked by Megatron on his ark spacecraft, leading to his crash landing on the Moon, where he has remained in slumber until today," Optimus Prime explained in the Hawaiian base.

Sentinel Prime was Optimus's mentor, teaching him the ways of battle, the Autobots' love for peace, and the qualities of bravery and fighting for freedom. To Earth's human population, Sentinel Prime was comparable to a figure like Einstein, crucial and instrumental for a planet's survival.

He had created the space bridge, capable of transporting an entire planet like Cybertron across the cosmos.

As Optimus Prime sought his former Autobot leader Sentinel Prime, he also managed to contact his previous master, one of the seven ancient Transformers from Cybertron, the most powerful and the only remaining evil one, Megatronus, also known as The Fallen.

After informing Megatronus of everything...

The Fallen, a corrupted Transformer, and Shockwave, moved from Cybertron to Earth in an instant, heading to Egypt. There, they found the Star Harvester hidden at the top of the Pyramid of Giza.

The Star Harvester had the capability to absorb solar energy on a massive scale, producing energon crystals. Energon crystals were the sustenance for newborn Cybertronians and essential for the maintenance of Transformers' lives. Once activated, it would forcibly absorb sunlight, causing catastrophic destruction to Earth's biosphere.

Over 17,000 years ago, The Fallen disagreed with his six ancient brethren over their conservative expansion policy. He believed there was no reason to waste time on those primitive carbon-based life forms, and all the stars available to Cybertron should be harvested. The other six ancient Transformers believed that stars where life was born should not be stripped of their right to exist, as they refused to harvest stars systems with life.

In this battle, he emerged victorious, his power insurmountable for the six ancient Transformers. "The Star Harvester possesses immense star-absorbing power, and that so-called Seven Golden Barrier is nothing more than a crude protective barrier. All we need to do is use the Star Harvester to drain its core the moment the Seven Golden Barrier is complete. It will merely serve as a magnifying glass for the Star Harvester's absorption capabilities," The Fallen said. "With the amplified attack, we can eliminate the carbon-based life form you fear so much."

Shockwave nodded in agreement.

He discreetly contacted his former master, Quintessa, and informed her that this was the perfect opportunity to absorb Earth, the energy source of Unicron. He also revealed that the AllSpark was on Earth. Simultaneously, he betrayed her guardian, Drift, stealing the staff and secretly hiding it on Earth. He told her that Optimus Prime, Sentinel Prime, The Fallen, and the humans were all preparing for a major conflict on Earth, and there was a high possibility of awakening Unicron.
