I stood in my backyard, my left hand was around my finger that I wore my sunlight ring on, slowly I began to pull the ring off hoping I wouldn't get assaulted by pain as soon as the ring was gone.

The ring effortlessly slid off my finger, I put it on the small table next to me and felt nothing, I felt fine perfectly fine! It was a dream come true, even wearing the ring I always felt inhibited, like I needed tools to survive.

But, now I feel free of the sun, it no longer rules my life, and no longer will it control my actions.

I smiled, if anyone were to see my smile they would have asked if I was okay because it was one full of raw emotions.

I waved my hand and watched as the ring dissolved into the air, the mana I used to pull it returning to my body.

I took a deep breath, relaxing my mind, my muscles, and my magic.

*snap!* I moved like a flash, I was in constant movement, and instantly I noticed I was faster than before, I ran up a tree in my backyard then I stopped once I reached the top, and I let my body fall.

*swish* I nimbly grabbed a tree branch and began to swing down the tree, my body contorting mid-air to perfectly grab the next branch on the way down

My body was more flexible.

Swinging from the last branch I turned into a bat, then a falcon then a wolf, my transformations were seamless, it felt even more natural than before.

Landing on the ground I turned into mist, it was weirder than before, I felt so in sync with my mist form now it was like I was floating in an endless space but I knew and felt everything around me.

Turning back into my human form I decided to lie on the ground my facing the sun, I closed my eyes and tried to muster the feeling I felt when I first completed my evolution.

At first, I couldn't feel anything, and nothing was happening. Suddenly, as if a light switch was flipped I began to see everything. My house, my secret basement level, my brother and sister at the Queen's estate.

Laurel Lance at her law firm, I saw people driving, people dealing drugs, people having sex. I mean I saw everything.

I quickly opened my eyes thinking that would turn the ability off.

It didn't.

I slowed my breathing and concentrated, thinking of a light switch I imagined mentally turning one-off.

Then there was nothing, I exited the weird ability. "Hahhh haha!" I sighed and laughed at the absurdity of the situation

That was such a weird feeling, it felt so unnatural. My bat form possesses echolocation but, nothing like that.

I mean I could see every detail, it was unreal. Kind of unnerving.

"Dembe," I said not getting up from my comfortable spot

"Lucas, have you figured out some of your enhancements?" he asked curiously

"I just finished my first round of training, it seems everything was enhanced and now I can walk in the sun freely," I replied with a small smirk tugging at my lips

I couldn't help it, I felt as if I beat my greatest foe at last.

"That's good," he said I could hear him trying to suppress his laugh seeing my smug expression

"What about you?" I asked, Dembe is still trying to figure out what he is feeling

We don't want to turn him when we have no clue about the consequences that could occur if his ability was something genetic.

He let out a deep sigh as he joined me laying on the grass, "I don't know, I can't feel it when I'm near you or Thea but, when I went out to buy some things today I felt it again. It's like I'm consuming something but don't know what to do with it," he sounded so disappointed it was a little sad

"Hm, we need to figure this out. Can you try to control the energy you feel like you are consuming?" I asked

"I've tried, it just seems like it's there with no purpose," he replied with another sigh

"Hm, it might be like when I first was interacting with mana, here let's try this, close your eyes and block out everything but my voice," I said with a thoughtful look

He did as I asked, "focus on the energy you feel, focus on the weight, the hunger, the shape. Slowly, begin to move the energy like you are flowing in a current, draw the energy to up to your shoulder, slowly make your way down to your forearm, and from there continue to your hand, now gently release the energy from your hand, as if you are pulling the trigger to a gun," that seemed to do the trick as a yellow energy began to emit from his hand

Suddenly Dembe's eyes snapped open and the energy went rampant, it headed for my body instantly I moved and dodged the blast.

It hit a tree, yet nothing happened.

"What happened?" I asked

"I lost control," he said looking ashamed

I gained a thoughtful expression, there was no way in hell I was about to let that unknown energy hit me. But, a test subject could be made available.

"Let's practice more, eventually it might come instinctual and then we can practice on people, or just when you can do it in a shorter time frame," I told him

He nodded and immediately got back to practice, closing his eyes to focus and try once more.

I left him, I have somewhere to be after all.

-Narrator pov -

Deep in the old lex corp bunker, Viktor was trying to create a serum made from the strange fallen meteor he has been researching for years, Lex corp originally found this meteor and tried to run normal tests but, once in contact with human skin the meteorite would do something to humans. It made them stronger, and faster, but much dumber. It was like they were changed into berserkers.

Viktor and the researcher team he killed were working on finding a way to get some smaller samples and hopefully recreate the effect it had on people but, without the disastrous side effect.

He went to the surface, more specifically central city to visit his old workshop when there he abducted an innocent civilian. This was the day the particle accelerator exploded.

Viktor didn't know it at the time but, this was his worse mistake.

By chance, both of them were affected by the blast, dark matter energy now was present in their very DNA. And the most worrying part was if, he could see the energy if anyone could they would notice it leaving Viktor's and his captive's body entering the meteorite.

It was a slow process, but the slowest processes have the most disastrous effects.

-Lucas's pov -

I looked up at the tall building in front of me, I was back in metropolis, and with my new speed, it wasn't that far or hard to get here.

I did in fact look for my mysterious letter sender, he claimed to know I was a vampire.

At first, I thought 'how can I find someone based on just this?' then I took another look or better smell.

It was a peculiar smell, a very specific one indeed. A wine brand, a very high-end wine brand.

The letter was clearly meant to have this scent as a clue, I found the manufacturer, and then I easily found a picture of the CEO.

I wondered how he could know I was a vampire, well I don't anymore.

The CEO clearly looked like one, he was handsome and pale, with a high-end job and position in society.

Classic vampire.

A/N: Lucas isn't op op yet, having him discover his abilities imo is more fun than just straight up perfectly knowing how to use them and what they are.
