It didn't take long for Sora to get in range of the moving plane. His light sense told him exactly where it was. He'd passed the kryptonian without the hero even noticing. The first thing he saw upon arriving was a beautiful woman in combat.
She seemed to be of mythological origins, namely Greek. Her actions made her out to be of the warrior class. A red band kept her black hair neatly tied. A silver headband kept the bangs out of her face, revealing clear blue eyes. She wore a bodysuit, the top being dark blue and turning red in the middle. The suit was tight around her groin, making it look as if her round peaches would jump out of the material.
'Wonder Woman.' He thought with a smile.
The sleepy man took a step in the air, appearing beside her in dramatic fashion. The twilight greatsword was already resting on his shoulder. The amazon didn't even question his arrival. A single head nod and the two were now standing back to back.
"I trust you're holding up well." Sora spoke casually.
"That's an understatement. I'll manage…combat is my calling after all." She responded.
They were surrounded. As they stood on top of the flying plane, parademons surrounded them on all sides. Wonder Woman unsheathed her blade and raised it to the sky.
"To victory!" She roared before charging into the horde.
Sora could only smile at her antics. He didn't say a word before flashing into the horde as well. The slaughter had begun. Elegant footwork, battle flow, and minimal movements. These were the best things to describe the young Lockhart's swordsmanship. It was as if he was gliding across the area, dancing around his enemies.
A good amount of time into the fight, Sora finally looked over to check on Wonder Woman. The Greek warrior had just sliced off the head of another enemy soldier. What she failed to take into account was its corpse. The body flew off the plane and went right through the wing's propeller.
BOOOM
The turbine exploded, leaving a trail of smoke in its wake. This wasn't good for those inside the aircraft. The plane started to dip since it was no longer able to maintain equilibrium. Fortunately, luck was on their side. Superman arrived at this moment, holding the plane from below.
It was now a slow descent as the battle carried on. Sora was using this chance to perfect his style of weapon combat, not wanting to blow them all away in one slash. After a long while, the enemies were all dead. Each corpse was freefalling toward the land below. The government would have a hard time cleaning that up.
Only now did Wonder Woman relax. The tension left her muscles as she approached. Sora turned to look at her just to find her doing the same. The two warriors locked eyes.
"You fight well. I like that in a man." She commented.
"I aim to please." Sora responded playfully.
"Are we of the same ilk? I sense that we are."
"...A warrior? If that's what you mean then yes."
The two stared at each other for a moment. It seemed as if the two were getting cozy. Warriors bonded the most in battle after all.
"Eh-Ehm!" Superman loudly cleared his throat, interrupting the two. Both of them turned to see what he wanted.
"We're going to land soon. The others are waiting for us so we should head back after." He continued. The two warriors nodded at his suggestion.
There was no way that this was the end. Even though things seemed dire, it wasn't as if the alien soldiers were strong enough to beat Earth's defenders. Everything would be destroyed by then but the metahumans, magicians, and mythological fighters would win.
The aircraft landed about ten minutes later. There were a few safety checks before the president made his way out. He made sure to shake each of their hands, thanking them for the help. They all knew that he would be dead without them.
"Superman, Wonder Woman. I'll be sure to award you with medals when this is all over."
"I appreciate it, Mr. President." The kryptonian answered.
"Your gratitude is well received." Wonder Woman responded.
"And who is this? I don't recall seeing you before." The president eyed Sora.
"Mmm…Darkstar. I go by Darkstar." The young Lockhart revealed.
'I just thought of that on the spot. Never thought I'd have to make a hero name.' He thought.
"Darkstar. Thank you for your help. I don't know if you are part of the Justice League, but I'll have a medallion with your name on it." The president exclaimed.
"...That's nice, I guess?" Sora answered lazily.
Superman, Wonder Woman, and the president smiled at each other. Sora's response was honestly how the other heroes felt but didn't say. Who gives a shit about a military decoration? Can you eat it? Does it give you privileges? No.
"I'll be going then…" Sora trailed off while his feet left the ground.
Wonder Woman flew after him, not satisfied with the small conversation they already had. Superman nodded to the president before taking off as well.
"Warrior!" She called out.
The amazon was having a tough time catching up. Sora decreased his speed, allowing her to finally grow closer. Superman flew behind them but it was obvious that he was listening.
"You fight with grace, and you exude confidence in every action. What pantheon do you belong to?" She asked. Sora raised an eyebrow.
"Pantheon? Well…I don't think my pantheon has a title." He answered.
"An unknown pantheon? Fascinating."
"...Is it really that interesting?"
"Yes. For an unnamed pantheon to allow you to wield such skill and strength, it must be something special."
"I appreciate the compliment."
"I wasn't complimenting you. I was complimenting your pantheon!" She joked.
"Aww, and here I was JUST starting to feel good about myself. Can't a man be happy for once?"
"You shouldn't rely on others to be happy. That feeling and sense of self must come from within."
"Of course. Thanks for the lesson, professor."
"Since when did I become your teacher?" Wonder Woman questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Maybe it's just a part of your leadership qualities. You have a way with your words." He responded.
"Is that so?" She fell into deep thought.
"...Do you want to be my teacher?" He asked in a playful manner.
"What could I even teach a well trained warrior such as yourself?"
"I wouldn't know. A teacher is the one who decides the curriculum after all."
The two would end up conversing the entire way back. An annoyed expression could be seen on Superman's face. He didn't like being ignored so casually.
"Wonder Woman, you shouldn't get too close to him. He's dangerous. What you've seen of his abilities is only the tip of the iceberg. Earlier he-"
"I will make that judgment myself, Superman." She interrupted.
Superman frowned but didn't say anything more. Wonder Woman didn't have anything else to say either. The last few moments of their travel were silent. Sora couldn't help but roll his eyes.
'Can this boy scout chill out for a second? We're literally saving the world right now.' He thought with annoyance.
