To prevent this from happening, apart from unraveling the complex grudges and giving each other some cool-down time, their emotions also needed to be vented. Only when all emotions were spent, all energy exhausted, could everyone truly attain peace of mind.
Otherwise, even if they could sit down and talk, it would only lead to another argument. When everyone is hot-headed, even geniuses like Stark and justice-minded individuals like Steve, are unlikely to focus on the issue at hand, their arguments are simply manifestations of their pent-up emotions.
Instead of this, why not create an opportunity for them to vent their emotions.
But the problem is, these individuals are called superheroes precisely because they possess a superior moral standard. If you suggest they should fight amongst themselves, they would outright refuse.
The first issue to address is the venue. If these superheroes start battling in New York, it would result in catastrophic city destruction. Therefore, they would rather argue till the end of the cosmos than resort to fighting.
Therefore, Shiller and Jacqueline went to the Hive Home Star, because he knew that Stark and Steve would not sit idly by and would definitely go after them. The cosmos is full of places where you can fight, but who else had a place as excellent as the Hive Home Star?
Of course, even with an appropriate venue, these repressed superheroes would find it hard to genuinely fight each other. They're all adults; even if they are holding grudges, they wouldn't openly admit it, let alone inflict harm on their teammates in the name of this.
At this point, the rainwater infused with the Dionysus Factor could stir their emotions very well. This is chaos and madness from another world. Any existence shorter of the madness of the Joker would be influenced by it.
Afterward, to escalate the situation, the Yellow Lantern Hulk who entered the scene later was just a troublemaker. The symbionts, who wanted to board the spaceship but were dissuaded by Shiller, were the same. As for Connors, he just wanted to punch Stark. This was a golden opportunity.
In this way, the superheroes vented their emotions, the plans of the Hive to counterattack Earth died due to stellar evolution, and Hulk released his anger and would be much quieter afterward. Connors gave Stark a punch, accomplishing his wish.
Spider Man and the symbionts honed their combat skills during the chaotic battle. Strange took revenge on Iron Man and Captain America, who had previously ganged up on him, and tested out various artifacts left behind by the Supreme Magician during the fight.
Iron Man and Captain America had a thorough fight to settle their scores. All the Avengers exhausted their energy, avoiding a real civil war from happening.
Most importantly, Shiller got his revenge for his new umbrella.
This was a plan full of Gotham style, taking advantage of the situation to achieve multiple goals. Although the process was slightly dark, the outcome was perfect.
A world where only enemies are injured has been achieved. The Hive Home Star... oh, no, the whole star system where the Hive Home Star is located, has been fully devoured by the red giant star that resulted from stellar evolution. Except for the superheroes who were individually picked up by Shiller and the Glorious Fleet that fled early, the whole star system has been wiped clean.
Inside the hall of the Glorious ship, everyone was lying on the floor at all angles, they were so exhausted that they couldn't even move their fingers.
In this crazy battle, everyone was an enemy, everyone was in an uncertain state of attacking and being attacked. At the end, Stark's suit drained the last bit of energy, Steve was too tired to stand up, let alone lift his shield, the ingredients in Spider Peter's web-shooter were completely gone, even Doctor Lizard, who has super self-healing power, was completely knocked down.
Everyone was sprawling on the floor of the hall, and only Shiller, who was in perfect condition, stood in the center, his arms folded, pacing and checking on everyone.
First he went to Stark's side, tutted and said, "I hear you used up all the energy from three energy cores? Seems like you didn't bring enough batteries."
Stark tried to manually open his faceguard with his hand, so that Shiller could see his eye-roll. He was so tired that he couldn't even speak. After operating machines and mecha at high intensity until his energy ran out, for the first time, his ever-inspirational brain felt tired.
Shiller stepped over Iron Man's outstretched arm and walked next to Steve. Steve was already squinting his eyes, about to fall asleep. Shiller hesitated for a moment, but decided to give this moral compass of the Avengers a break by not teasing him.
Then, he stepped over Steve's leg to Peter's side. Peter was staring at Venom. Shiller sighed and said, "Young people really do have abundant energy. What's the matter? You two still want to get up and fight?"
Peter and Venom snorted in unison and turned their heads in opposite directions, appearing to loathe each other but didn't hate each other. The symbionts sitting at the table also appeared somewhat listless. They seldom participate in high-intensity fights, but compared to humans, they still had more stamina and could still chat.
"Oh my god! I've never been in such a chaotic fight! Blue Spirit, have you? Was it like this when you were fighting with Nal?"
"Of course not." Blue Spirit leaned his head back on the chair and said, "Back then, we fought in normal squads. I had teammates. We each performed our duties and advanced together. But just now…"
He held his head in his palm and said, "I still can't figure it out. Who did I hit, who hit me? I remember several times when my magic was a bit off…"
"You hit me several times!" Red Bee's voice came from Peter's mouth, "Boss, I didn't know you despised me this much. Even when you were flung away, you didn't forget to kick me…"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to." Blue Spirit shrugged and said. Thunder immediately called him out, "You've said a long time ago that you can't stand Red Bee's chatter. If it wasn't intentional, I can't figure out how you could precisely kick him in the head while you were being flung away…"
"But you kicked my head!" Peter complained, "You smeared my eyes with slime. I didn't see Doctor Connors in front of me and accidentally bumped into him!"
"Stop making excuses, Peter." Connors lay on the nearby couch, squinting his eyes, and said sleepily, "You just want to take revenge for the smack I gave you with my tail earlier, you vengeful little boy."
"I swear, I didn't!" Peter yelled, flipping over, trying to get up from the ground, only to wail halfway, "Oh! My back!"
At Peter's cry, Steve was suddenly roused from his slumber, forcing his eyes wide open and croaking out, "Sorry, Peter, I didn't mean to strike you with my shield. I was aiming for Stark's missile."
"Are you trying to put the blame on me now?" Stark raised his voice in retort, "My missile wasn't meant for someone who only knows how to wield a cold weapon like a shield. I was aiming at that giant tentacle."
"Have you all forgotten? That was the real enemy."
As soon as Stark said this, there was silence all around. Peter hesitantly said, "Well... I did forget. Its tentacles blend in with the ground, they're not that noticeable. And besides, I can't understand what it's saying."
"I sent the translation module to your battlesuit ages ago. What, you didn't switch it on?" Stark cocked his head towards Peter, who covered his eyes with his arm and said, "I think I might have heard something, but I was too wrapped up in the fight, I didn't notice."
"So, what did it say?" Blue Spirit asked.
"I can understand its language, but the sound of the explosion was so loud, I couldn't hear it clearly."
"It seemed to be shouting something like 'humans are crazy,' and then it just screamed. Nothing significant."
"Crazy? I think we might have actually gone crazy." Peter rolled onto his stomach, laid on the ground, rested his chin against the floor, and mumbled vaguely, "I don't know where I got the impulse from; I just felt like fighting."
"As did I. I mean, I've been in a bad mood recently, but nowhere near this level."
Stark moved his arm, then pounded his temple with his fist, "I feel like we must've been influenced by something. I'm rarely this irrational."
"Aren't you aware? The Hive has the ability to influence the mental state of others. How else do you think he has so many human followers?" Shiller leaned against the wall and chimed in.
"I found this information among the records of planetary lords at the governor's office, but since the place was blown up, no documentation remains."
"One thing is certain, he does have this special ability, maybe he intended to make you guys fight each other."
"Wait, you're saying the Hive can manipulate people's minds?" Stark frowned, "What's the range of this ability? Can it be remotely transmitted? Or do his followers possess this ability?"
Suddenly, Steve had a realization and shared a glance with Stark. Slowly he got up from the ground, having regained some energy. He staggered over to the couch and sat down, then leaned his forehead against his finger, "I feel something is off, let's go over it from the top…"
"Where did all this start?" Steve asked. Stark took over and said, "During my call with T'Challa, I found out that he had been attacked…"
"We discovered that an undetectable toxin was on the spear that injured T'Challa. After hearing Erik shouting 'Helada," we started investigating Hydra in order to trace the origin of the toxin."
Steve sighed, "Because our ways of doing things were so different, we ended up splitting into two groups, with you forming the Luminous Alliance and me the Avengers."
"And then out of nowhere we started competing, seeing who could do a better job at taking down Hydra... My god, what on earth was I thinking? Was I treating this like some sort of schoolyard game?" Steve couldn't believe it.
"I admit it was my competitive nature that triggered the competition. I didn't think it was childish, because the winner was Stark." Stark raised his voice, "You were the one who came to me in the end!"
However, his tone shifted, and he started to sound a bit perplexed, "But you sought me out due to a setback. I don't understand how things escalated so quickly. You ran into problems way ahead of schedule. How did Hydra become so formidable all of a sudden?"
"That's right. Because Hydra became so hard to deal with, we ended up banding together again." Steve recalled.
"Then, a mysterious person approached Shiller. We were drawn to the Hive Home Star and, with tensions already running high, a great battle began."
Suddenly, Stark started to feel a shiver run down his spine, "If we had been influenced on Earth instead of this planet…"
Steve visibly stiffened, "Are you saying... this is a plot by Hydra?"
"Exactly…" The more Stark spoke, the more convinced he became of his own theory, "Hydra must be behind this."
